Its fairly obvious the cause for the repeated need for response was due to the repeated obtuse augmentative objection! if you read from the start you would notice I am not the the one who raised objection to a user name in the first place and then went on to object to it even after it had been explained by every similitude possible in the hope that would register the pointlessness of arguing. If in your opinion it is fair for one person to go on and on attacking and arguing just for the sake of being obtuse and the other person is not permitted to explain their view at all, then I don't see any point in discussing this with you when nothing you have said is relevant enough to deserve a response. <em>edited by chezmoi on 08/02/2015</em>

I do not understand the agressive and obtuse argument to it, when I had explained the meaning and the reason for it multiple times. Explaining an issue over and over in response to persistent argumentative comment is not aggression. <em>edited by chezmoi on 08/02/2015</em>

You don't seem to understand English either. Chez moi means my home or at home in English. As I have explained multiple times I am back home, hence the name change, hence the meaning. Is your name Thomas then? Chezmoi, well said, j'adore tes postes Tres gentille caps, merci beaucoup :)

We have more than usual at the mo. We find one or two a week in the house. Just wondering if this is normal for the time of year or if we need to get pest control in and get the a/c cleaned. Thanks. Sometimes you can get a flood of them when a neighbouring house has been treated so better get pest control in asap if they are increasing all of a sudden. Take care not to leave pet food bowls open around the house as this will attract them. If they are coming through the a/c vents you may need to have pest control treat that too. Like all pests they seem to be more active at night.

Most English speaking people understand a few French expressions commonly used in English such as, c'est la vie, comme ci comme ca, chez moi, sacre bleu etc. The meaning is an appropriate name for someone who has gone home. Sorry if it confused you. Seems it's you who are confused - Anon was the one who thought you were in France !! You just asked how a French name is more geographically correct and I have just explained to you how it is by virtue if the meaning, so if you understood the meaning why did you ask? It's French  I am so sorry if you do not undrstand French, but I am free to have a French user name even if you don't understand it.

Given that Alismum did not query where I was and commented that she thought its a nice name I take it she understood, but really what is the problem here. I have explained my name change, I have explained why I changed it, I have explained the meaning of the new name. i have explained how it relates to where I am. is it still not clear? <em>edited by chezmoi on 07/02/2015</em>

This is why I don't believe much of what I read on here... It's a real shame isn't it? I was looking back at 2011 post today that I'd been involved it, seemed like a whole different bunch back them x Agree, I was thinking this morning reading the forum its getting more like the classifieds. That edit would be a name change as DT says , although its weird to edit your own posts as the new name trying to look like another person. I did change my user name to a more appropriate name when I left Dubai (di@dxb) but I have mentioned it several times and not keeping a secret of the fact at all, so hope I have not caused any confusion. I had no idea that was you. Thanks for the clarification. Are you in France now? No in the UK currently, someone sugessted the name change since I was not @dxb anymore so I thought it best to be more geographically correct! edited by chezmoi on 07/02/2015 How is a French name more geographically correct when you are living in the UK ? lol Its the meaning of the word that is correct. A French expression generally understood by English speakers. Oh yes, that'll be why Anon asked if you are living in France... lol Yes, that's why Alimum understood it...lol!

Hi I am in Business Bay now and u? What area u living in? X edited by Nemesia31 on 23/11/2014 ______________________________________ Di I think you are on the right lines :) Could be that nisonluvlees wanted to meet up with Nemesia, since they were both new to Dubai and was quoting one of her posts. edited by Alismum on 07/02/2015 Yes, I think nemesia deleted the post that nisonluvlee quoted, perhaps she did not want to meet up after all. Here's what I think was done. nisonluvlee1 copied and pasted the entire text of a post made earlier in another thread by nemesia31 If you copy an edited post the edit details are carried on to the paste function although the words edited by may not be visible on the original post That is how its looks like nemesia31 edited nisonluvlee1's post because nisonluvlee did not add any text to her post beside what she copied over from nemesia31 The only question that remains a mystery is why would nisonluvlee do that!

Actually has me a bit stumped. Nemesia31 (joined 30/9/14) and has 18 posts to her name and nisonluvlee (joined 19/10/14) has only 5 posts. How can they be the same person? Can't be a name change then if the one that edited it joined before the one that made the post? Very strange!

Do any of you ladies know where I can buy essential orange (or any citrus) oil? I want to spray my garden furniture to keep the neighbours cat of it. There's a Hemani oil kiosk in Oasis centre, its up on level two if I recall correctly, they have a whole range of essentisl oils and its much less expensive than Organic F and Cafe where the too have a variety of them.

Hello - we have recently moved to Dubai and need to hire a live in maid and a driver. We can hire separately or alternatively hire a couple. Do you have any advice on how I do this? Thanks I'm sure if you drop an ad on Dubizzle you would be likely to get many responses. Assuming you have placed one on classifieds here too. <em>edited by chezmoi on 07/02/2015</em>

Hi Ladies, I am looking into taking the LEED exam. Anyone know where I can register? How much is the exam? Thanks in advance. I have no idea but this is what I got on a quick search on Google You register and create an account at http://www.usgbc.org/registration/create-user Go to credentials and apply for the exam you want Costs The fees associated with the LEED Green Associate are a $50 application fee, a $200 exam fee (per exam appointment) for USGBC national members and full-time students or $250 exam fee (per exam appointment) for all others, and a $50 biennial CMP renewal fee.[2'> http://www.usgbc.org/articles/interested-becoming-leed-green-associate-or-leed-ap-what-you-need-know There are also workshops in Dubai where you could enquire locally Contact http://emiratesgbc.org/archive/index.php/events/training http://www.buid.ac.ae/leed_workshops/ <em>edited by chezmoi on 07/02/2015</em>

No it never came back, nor any other anywhere, these things are pretty random where they appear and will not do any harm if you leave them, as you say its a cosmetic procedure. I cannot compare on the price you have been quoted as it was a long time ago DH did his. But recovery was without any issues, you will just need to take care with overstretching the area where the stiiches are for a few days but you should not have any serious after pains. Hope it all goes well.

hi there, has anyone had a lypoma removed in dubai, any recommendations and experiences shared will be appreciated! this one is on the side of bra strap area TIA DH had one removed a very long time ago, so not a recent experience as far as doctors recommendations go, but its a very minor procedure since a lypoma (as opposed to a lymphoma) is not connected to any major organ or blood supply, it can be done under a local anethestic but he opted for a general anesthetic, and had to wait a bit longer due to the anethesia but went home the same day with just a couple of stitches and no pain medication. Don't worry you will be fine :)

Most of my post was lost regardless of how its addressed, I often tried with parcel dept to locate them but never found even those parcels that were correctly addressed, I don't recommend the postal service to Dubai. In the case of a wrongly addressed item without a phone number or tracking number the best you can do is hope they will return it to sender. Use a courier for important documents.

I don't mean this in a demeaning way at all, but It really makes me smile, of course you can manage, there are billions of women all over the world with children, and homes to keep, some of them have jobs too and they manage without live in maids. You are fortunate its a matter of choice for you and you know how organised you are so really you are the best one answer this question. Personally I have never had one for the exact reasons you mention.

Dear Expat Ladies, My name is .....years old from Amsterdam,The Netherlands. If it all goes as planned I will be in Dubai on 26-02-2015. I will try to start a career at a real estate agency. So I am not sure for how long I will be staying. But lets say a minimum of 2 months. I am finding it very difficult finding a shared accomodation. Most of the people do not reply to my e-mail. The prices they are asking are also way to high for what I get. Can anyone please be so kind to help out? My budget is AED 2800. Thank you so much in advance. Kind regards, Hi, I hope you have secured a job before going out to Dubai, if not it can often take quite a few months to get one and if you have no friends out there or sufficient money to last while you look it could be tough. For a shared room check out Dubizzle, there you can find something shared, but I am not sure how you would be able to secure it from overseas, its not recommeded to send money to advertisers as theres no guarantee and there are many scams. I hope you have someone there who can assist you in your move. Also I'd advise you to remove your real name from your post. Best of luck. <em>edited by chezmoi on 06/02/2015</em>

Hi ladies, I have an old pocket watch which I am looking to have repaired. It's made in Soviet Union so it's really quite vintage... I've already tried Minutes & Hour Choice - neither of them can repair it. Any idea on where I can get it done? I have a vintage pocket watch too, I did not find anyone in Dubai to service it. I sent it back home and had it repaired at specialist restorer in the UK. If you Google you will find plenty advertised. Not sure I would give a valuable antique to a shop like minutes or hour choice even if they said they could work on it. <em>edited by chezmoi on 05/02/2015</em>

They are not talking about ER, she started this thread in 2013 but to a post made 2nd this month by a new poster who clearly had links to the fish company. Her post advertising the company, and my post highlighting her ad, were deleted by the mods so the recent replies of this week are in reference to the post by the newbie from the fish company who obviously dug this thread up from way back to advertise. Hope that explains the context :) edited by chezmoi on 05/02/2015 Oops (iedaisy) Anyone coming across this thread in its current form would have assumed the same, maybe it would be good if the mods left a lttle note when they remove posts to say 'post deleted' in the place of the offending post so we could understand what happened to avoid disjointed continuity.

As I said it does not suit all hair types, and you need to be careful to keep it away from the roots and use it on the ends or it will weigh your hair down. You don't need to use more than one squirt for all your hair either. It could be a matter of finding out how much and how far up your hair you need to apply it, but as you say it does keep down the frizz which is why I love it. Also I do not use the conditioner with it, that could make it too heavy as well. <em>edited by chezmoi on 05/02/2015</em>

I guess we will have to decide on that after we get there since neither of us really know what we are getting into with the sand. I never had, needed or wanted a maid. To get back to the topic of this thread though, in case the OP returns at all, if I was ever forced to have one her room would most definitley be outside of the house. <em>edited by chezmoi on 05/02/2015</em>

The statistics on Dubai Population Centre graph show a steady decline in western expats since 2009 and a steady influx of Asians, so your observations are accurate. Perhaps Asians find it easier to save these days than people from the West. <em>edited by chezmoi on 04/02/2015</em>

According to the school circular I still receive, its as follows The Dubai Tour (Bicycle Race) 4th – 7th February 2015 IPlease take note of the roads that will be affected and plan accordingly. Our buses may run a little late due to traffic congestion, however, there should not be significant delays. Our bus monitors will update parents if there is a delay. Our experience last year was that the closing and opening of the roads for the tour was efficient with little impact on traffic near the school. In particular these times and roads are the ones to watch and plan for: Wednesday, Feb. 4: Al Wasl and Jumeirah Rd closures from 13.30 to 14.35 Final Circuit on Jumeirah Rd from 13.30 to 15.30 Thursday, Feb. 5: Tour crossing Al Sufouh Rd. about 14.15 to 14.50 before turning onto the Palm Jumeirah.

I am confused, are expatoman and saggi_1 the same person? Considering the writing styles of both are quite distinctive and identical to each other in the use of multiple. ....... ( ) you would seem to be correct. I'm sure lots of people here have multiple profiles, although I cannot see the point myself, but they don't usually confuse the two in one thread. It would be simple enough for saggi_1 to clear the confusion.

All I can say if it any solace, for every tear they have caused to fall by their evil there will be a reckoning one day. Their lack of fear of that reality ranks them as the lowest of creatures not deserving to be called human. Sadly we share this planet with beasts worse than the most savage of animals.

I am all for human rights for everyone and a clear definition of job descriptions. At least in an employee situation there can be one. As others have advised its best to communicate your needs to your maid and come to an understanding with her. Some men expect their wives to cook the meals, wait on their guests, serve them, clear up and tend to their babies at the same time without any help whatsoever, now that makes me cringe!

Hi Ladies, I was wondering if anyone is travelling to the UK soon & could post a CD back to Amazon for me please? The postal service from here is too hit & miss, so I would prefer to send it from the UK. Naturally, I would leave the CD open for you to see what it is you are posting & cover the cost of the postage. Any help will be really gratefully received. I am in the UK and would be happy to help in any way if you can get it to me. Sorry don't know of anyone coming over at the moment. I do regularly have someone travelling to and fro but it may not be soon enough for your return order. You can send up to 500 grams with Skynet who will collect and deliver door to door, they are very reasonably priced, about AED 55 for a light item such as a CD I think. Not what you want but an option if all else fails. <em>edited by chezmoi on 03/02/2015</em>
