On a positive note for those who this concerns I notice reading reviews of research and reports for 2014 that the claims of pork DNA present in Cadbury's halal chocolates imported to Dubai from Malaysia were dis-proven upon further testing. http://www.foodqualitynews.com/Industry-news/FQN-looks-at-the-headlines-so-far-in-2014

Glad you found it intereting, for those eho want to keep up with food safety issues you can subscrible to their publications, its a valuable resource backed by fact and science for breaking news on food quality and control. LOL !! What is LOL, a couple of typos? eta I don't care about typos - we all do them sorry, I was childishly LOLing at your insistence that your quotes were "backed by fact and science" and the 'so there' tone of your post :) Again, I am quoting the publisher's description of themselves - not inventing it myself! You obviiously are taking issue to this piece of news published yesterday, if you dont find it relevant then eat as many Egyptian strawberries as you like. I found it useful and will be avoiding their produce because Egypt is as the reports states a country "endemic with Hepatitis A" Everyone can decide for themselves how to react to the knowledge. <em>edited by chezmoi on 03/02/2015</em>

The article in Food Quality Review is dated 2nd February 2015. The other report I quoted from Eurosurveillance is dated 29th January 2015. The studies these reports are based upon of course draw data from the previous year. Natuarally it takes time to amass data upon which to publish a finding. The conclusions being published now are a result of a pattern of infections over specific periods of time in people who ate Egyptian strawberries. edited by chezmoi on 03/02/2015 No, people who ate strawberries IN EGYPT - in the Red Sea area to be more precise... Citation style for this article: Sane J, MacDonald E, Vold L, Gossner C, Severi E, on behalf of the International Outbreak Investigation Team. Multistate foodborne hepatitis A outbreak among European tourists returning from Egypt– need for reinforced vaccination recommendations, November 2012 to April 2013. Available online: http://www.eurosurveillance.org/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleId=21018 [b'> Date of submission: 07 February 2014[/b'> Thats what I said, the date of the report data is from previous years, the publication of the article I quoted is recent! I said nothing about where the strawberries were eaten, I referred to the harvesting being a cause of the problem as stated by the article. But no one has stated that strawberries grown for export are harvested any differently. Can you confirm they are? It said strawberries and mangoes (plus other berries - all frozen), consumed in all-inclusive luxury hotels..In an area where Hepatitis A is a known disease.. I just think you are taking this out of context and the title of the thread is scare-mongering.. Read the whole report !! I have read the report, and if you read it too you will see it states that they found it unlikely the infection was caused in or by the local hotels. If you think Food Quality News and Eurosurveillance are scaremongering thats your opinion. My thread title is the title of the FQN article I did not make it up! <em>edited by chezmoi on 03/02/2015</em>

Oh no! Is that why they are so cheap? Its because their standard methods of production differ, most likely cause of infection is the water used before and during harvesting according to Eurosurveillance.org [i'>"Contamination could have occurred upon water irrigation or rinsing near the place of production – Hepatitis A is an acute illness caused by hepatitis A virus (HAV), -Transmission mainly occurs through ingestion of contaminated food and water, "[/i'> http://www.eurosurveillance.org/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleId=21018

Is this site being targetted as this is the second story i've noticed about this. Or is this just generally what happens? I also read that people from Dubizzle were being targetted (sometimes personally) by scammers as well? I'm not really up to date on internet "things" so perhaps I'm worrying about nothing? Unfortunately nowhere on the internet is immune from spammers and scammers who get some kind of twisted joy from putting out malicious links, the golden rule is do not click or open anything anywhere in your mail or elsewhere unless you are sure it is ok.

I think you're being very generous to the OP chezmoi. You may want to edit your post to delete the quotation you made as the link still appears and may be clicked on by the unwary or unwitting. To me, it was obviously someone posting with malice aforethought. The whole tone of the post was false, let alone the link. I did wonder if it was malicious but gave the benefit of the doubt, I left my post in case anyone may have clicked already so they know what to search for to clean up the PC in case, but I have deleted the link as you suggested, you are right, thanks.

Another reason a property could have been on the market a while is that the service charges have not been paid by the owner, which can leave an unsuspecting tenat without access to security cards or parking, the agents will not always be clear on this issue, so take care to double check before signing the contract. I know someone who signed up for a DG flat only to find Nakheel would not issue him with an access card because the owner owed over a years service charge although the agent told him it was paid. Hello, I'm currently tutoring a six year old in English and Math, I don't mind tutoring another kid :) Contact for details- 050*******@hotmail.co.uk Are you a qualified teacher and working in a school teaching those subjects? If so you may know that its illegal for you to work outside of your sponsorship, otherwise if you are just looking to tutor freelance you would also be working illegally without a labour card unless you have formed a company to offer tutoring services. If so if I were you I would be wary about touting for business by publicly advertising yourself, yes there are lots of people tutoring on the side but they are running a risk none the less. <em>edited by chezmoi on 01/02/2015</em>

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has ordered from Souq.com before? if so, how long did the postage take?? Thanks :) :) It depends on if the item is avaiable locally or shipped over from the US, and also depends on the stated shipping time the seller has advertised for processing the order. It varies from seller to seller. And its not delivered by post. Souq sellers use Aramex. <em>edited by chezmoi on 01/02/2015</em>

Agree, location is the key. In answer to your question, no I would not, potty training/use was something we did at home and we avoided accidents outside of the house by going to the toilet before leaving the house and using trainers if they were not quite potty trained. Now with the invention of travel potties I think many mums see no issue with using potties publicly rather than just for emergencies in the car etc, I was on a flight recently and a mother put her toddler on a travel potty seated in the row in front of me, she was two steps from the toilets but choose to put the child on the potty publicly, the child obviously did a poo rather than just a pee, it was pretty unpleasant. Did anyone say anything no. Even if its been established as a 'norm' these days, personally I would still train my child at home in preference, for a whole host of other reasons, beside the risk of offending anyone. <em>edited by chezmoi on 29/01/2015</em>

The 'chocolate' treats should be made of carob instead of chocolate. Best to ask then, chocolate is poison for dogs. You would think the people making the biscuits would know that. ETA Just in case your dog does get hold of some chocolate, here is a handy wizard to assess the severity and need for medical attention based on weight and type consumed, it can vary from a mild to life threatening reaction depending on the weight of the dog and the type of chocolate it has eaten. http://www.vets-now.com/pet-owners/dog-care-advice/dog-eaten-chocolate/ <em>edited by chezmoi on 28/01/2015</em>

You can make calls to landlines and mobiles on Viber too, they are cheaper than Skype to landlines but Skype are cheaper to mobiles. I find Viber better quality these days and don't like the way Skype signs me out automatically on the iPad when I'm browsing, as I miss all my incoming calls if I'm not logged in, whereas Viber is always running in the background to receive incoming calls. House prices have fallen in the last quarter in the UK, sellers have dropped prices mostly, except in some very exclusive areas, so its not a sellers market everywhere. In still does depend on the area but in general its a buyers market right now, even Greater London has seen an annual drop of 11.1% in 2014. We are looking to buy at the moment and don't feel any pressure as there is plenty on the market. This could be helpful http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/mortgageshome/article-1671748/House-prices-What-expect-news-predictions.html edited by chezmoi on 21/01/2015 The asking price in the UK has rebounded in January - and there's little quality stock. Each to their own opinion as always, but I think a good one bed flat in London that probably appeals to first time buyers would get a better price through an agent. Although if it is one of many similar selling in an area and you know within 5/10k or so how much it should go for then that makes it a little easier to advertise privately and to accept or hold out for the correct price. edited by ChilliChai on 22/01/2015 I was not commenting on using an agent or private selling so not sure who your comment is directed at but our experience currently with the market is many of the houses we have seen over the last three months have been on the market some time and have dropped asking price more than once. It may not be relevant to the area of the OP's flat, location as I said makes a difference. Some analysts are forecasting more of a sellers market after the election. edited by chezmoi on 22/01/2015 I was commenting on your post because you've said house prices have fallen in the last quarter, but more updated stats show they improved in January. Also, you've quoted that they fell 11.1% in 2014, but the graphic in the link you provided shows an improvement of 11.1% in the year, and dropped only just over 5% for Q4. It is also reported that there is hardly any stock coming on, and the stock that is hanging around is either overpriced or has some sort of undesirable feature. I was therefore saying that a property that appeals to a broad first-time buyer base will be in good demand. As I said, its expected to be a better market for sellers after the election. The prices I was referring to were for the last Q 2014. And as far as that situation is concerned here is an up to date report http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/houseprices/11346743/London-house-prices-to-fall-up-to-5pc-as-sellers-abandon-the-market.html

Am going to casual dinner party at a friend's house and need to buy a cake for dessert - any recommendations? I was thinking of dropping by Paul, but thought you ladies might have a better/more imaginative suggestion. TIA If you don't know everyone's tastes, one whole cake in any particular flavour will likely not suit everyone. Not all people love chocolate ( although I find that hard to understand!) and not everyone likes cream sponge or cheesecake and some cannot eat dairy etc. I would go for a selection of small fancy individual petit four cakes in a range of different flavours, it would look more decorative and save slicing up and serving out for the hostess. Milk and Honey do some gorgeous ones. <em>edited by chezmoi on 22/01/2015</em>

Last time I contacted [b'>Cash Converters they wanted photos and a full description of the items before they would say whether they would take them or not.[/b'> They normally offer quite a low price but it is hassle free compared to Dubizzle. My husband contacted them last year about some office equipment but they said they weren't taking anything at the time as they were fully stocked. Have also tried Auction house for one or two items but they said they wouldn't collect and we had to drop them off! .... needless to say the items are still sitting in our apartment! Good luck, it can be a pain trying to sell second hand goods here. That's right they do want photos and a description before taking the items, but then if you are going to sell them any other way such as on Dubizzle you are going to have to take photos and write a description too. Agree, selling is a pain whichever way you do it.
