Try assist.ae or 800GETME They will collect and bring to you for about dhs30, it will work out cheaper and easier than the taxi and metro.

Is that the one just before SZR...where the vehicle testing centre is? I assume this is the same one which can issue driving licences??:\: I understood that Al Barsha was the only offic ewhich would convert his licence to a UAE one without asking for the Emirates ID card (he has the registration form, but the card isnt through yet) Yes its near the vehicles testing centre, for driving licence you go to the police station which is on the left just before you reach the Tasjeel vehicle test area. I have renewed my driving licence there without ID recently. I am not sure of the exact opening hours of the police station but would think it should be open as early as the vehicle test centre at least.

It may now be out of warrenty but really it has not lived up to an expected lifespan at all, especially for a brand like Hoover. Even here in consumer law there is the notion of reasonable performance and it would seem your machine has had issues from the start. If you don't want to just give it away maybe contact the manufacturers head office and you could give the consumer rights people a call too to see where you stand on this. http://www.consumerrights.ae/aspx/consumers/consumer-rights-responsibilities.aspx <em>edited by Di@DXB on 24/09/2012</em>

Its good if you want toys or elctronics, otherwise nothing much there that serves any use for me. I only go when the Arte souk is on, that's definitely worthwhile. edited for typo <em>edited by Di@DXB on 24/09/2012</em>

Sharaf Digi do have a range of coffee machines, some quite expensive ones, doubt they would be cheaper there than other shops though if they do have the Nespresso. I found a fantastic solution for my home made latte and cappucchinos, its a Sunbeam milk frother, you would not believe how well this little gadget froths, it heats the milk to give an incredible foam that's much firmer than the coffee machine type milk foamers. Then I just add it to my fav freshly plunged coffee brew and voila! It makes the best Cappuccino or Latte for a fraction of the cost. http://www.sunbeam.com.au/products/kitchen/em0180/

Hi, My husband has provided his company's pro a copy of the tenancy agreement and a copy of a stamped letter from Nakheel stating that the property is definately in the landlords name etc. We also would have thought these docs would be sufficient but apparently not. I have emailed the school to keep them in the picture and intend to call them as soon as someone is available this morning. We really can't believe that tenants applying for residendancy would have access to a properties title deeds. Just praying the school will be sympathetic and give us some breathing space. A copy of the tenancy agreement is not enough but the original was in my case. Immigration accepted the original for my visa without any request for title deeds.

Have you tried taking just the original rental contract to the resdiency dept? I only had to give them my original tenacy contract for my visa not the title deeds, I would be unable to get those as well. This sounds wrong to me.

Well since you are on bed rest sounds like you should not be doing too much, maybe a hobby if you have one that you could do to occupy your time and also sell online. Have a look at etsy for example, you can have a store online there, perhaps that will give you some ideas. hth

I have used Armani shade no.2 of another product in their range, not FF and it was not pinkish at all, its described as Pale beige for very fair skin with yellow undertones. So maybe try the tester for no 2, in Face Fabric. The shades are described and shown in close up here for some of the other Armani foundations http://www.beautyprofessor.net/2012/09/giorgio-armani-maestro-fusion-makeup.html Also this online foundation shade finder may help, search your ideal shade before you buy http://findation.com/ Thanks Di@DXB! The Findation site seems very useful!! Did you like the Maestro line? I was using the 'Modelling Compact' which I loved but its now discontiuned, the shade description was the same as for Maestro so I'm guessing same will hold true for the Face Fabric.

We also had some lightweight down duvets from ikea and they are great. According to the catalogue they are still available i would never buy a synthetic duvet so was surprised to read they were not selling down duvets anymore as i recently bought new ones but in spain. Ive checked the catalogue for uae and there are plenty of down duvets for sale. This is the one we had - lightweight and perfect for the dubai hot nights http://www.ikea.com/ae/en/catalog/products/90131445/ That's the one I bought too and its lovely.

Where do you recommend for quilts/comforters? (Not ikea)..I have 1 lovely one bought in India..Just the right weight for this weather ..didn't come with any matching sheets but lovely. Any recommendation? Just wondering why not Ikea? I have a couple of summer weight ones from there and they have lasted well though 2 years of use and dry cleaning, still as good as new and very comfortable to use. Ikea only sells synthetic ones...they stopped selling down duvets/pillows a while back! That's a pity, but where did the OP say she only wanted down duvets?

If she's already left the house and gone off to her husband, you need to call the police now and don't bother looking up articles. Go with your gut feelings its always right. She could be cooking up some tale with him to go to the poilce with herself before you get the chance to say she stole from you to make you look like you are just retaliating her charges. I would not waste another minute.

I think you need to play this smart and act quickly with your decision, if you are going to the police do so as soon as possible, you don't want her running off and dissapearing while she's on your sponsorship. I would go to the police immediately unless you know of some very compelling reason to just let her go home.

She's asking for you to just buy her a ticket and send her home to avoid the consequences of you reporting her to the poilce. She would probably be arrested put in custody and deported. Its up to you what you want to do with her but she sounds like a bare faced thief.

Its one thing being late, which I find very rude especially when you have prepared a meal for people. I had guests who took being late to a whole new level. After inviting these people for dinner at home, I prepared a really gourmet multi-course meal in their honour and invited them to arrive at 8pm. We waited and waited and they never showed up or called, we tried calling them but their phone did not pick up. We sat with the whole meal on the ready until midnight by which time most of it was ruined, I threw it in the trash in disgust after having stood all day in the kitchen. Next evening at 9pm they showed up for dinner casually saying they had not come yesterday because it was raining and they don't drive when it rains! I served them pizza and I think it was nice of me to even bother! Too much rain to answer repeated phone calls? o_O Nice. Wasn't Larry David? No excuse for not picking up either and not Larry - I think even he is not that bad! :)

It would be a nice idea if the hotels did Christmas preview dinners where you could go and sample the December menu so you could then pick the hotel or restaurant you liked the best. It would also be a good way they good promote their seasonal offerings in advance and generate confirmed business. Or perhaps some do, though I’ve not heard of any, would be a good marketing ploy too. Maybe they'll read this and do so!

Poor Kate now an agency photographer is touting photos of an incident at Brisbane airport on her way home when her skirt was blown up by the wind exposing her panties. You would have thought someone in her entourage would have advised her to do as the Queen has always done and have weights placed in the hems of her lightweight dresses. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2205368/Kate-Middleton-Closer-photos-Duchess-heads-home-scandal-dress-caught-wind.html?ICO=most_read_module

Daiso have both and would be the most inexpensive place to get them, your nearest branch would be at Ibn Battuta Mall. Otherwise there's Craftland on the Beach road for better quality wools and needles. http://www.mycraftland.com/

In addition ot running the steps below its important that the printer is switched on before you boot up the computer if its hardwired as the pc will 'find' the printer, but if you switch the printer on after booting up the pc it will never connect because the HP printer does not have the 'brains' to find the computer. And that simply does not amaze me!

Did you go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers and check the status there? Right click and see. It may have switched to offline. HP does things like that I find. Hi. Thanks. Yes I did and it has switched to offline but how do you get it to return to online? Try 'refresh' or set to default printer. You may need to restart your computer too. HP's are so fussy. Tried that too but still reading "offline". :(( Go to 'toolbox' and run the troubleshooter maybe that will fix it.

Had to have implant removed due to suspected allergy to titanium (sorry I have hijacked the thread tad!) . Have had absolute faith in Dr David Roze....think they will not say rather than they don't know..thanks for all your advice everyone! Maybe asking where he is over the phone won't get an answer, if you are desperate to track him down I'd try to go in and ask someone on reception quietly without others hearing perhaps that would get you some info.

Just had a scare with persian long hair choking and seemed to have dislocated his jaw, rushed to vet and it turned out he had partial swallowed his neck hair while grooming and it lodged in his throat holding his mouth open. This was strange as we could not see the hair looking into his mouth. All is well now, other than him having a rather bad hair do! But I found these useful instructions on what to do with a choking cat. http://www.wikihow.com/Save-a-Choking-Cat

The currency on planet Zlot is Akids. Each Akid is divided into 5 Blims and each Blim into 12 Cwots. (a) Add together 3 Blims 9 Cwots and 4 Blims 7 Cwots. (Give your answer in Akids, Blims and Cwots) (b) What is one-third of an Akid in Blims and Cwots? If so, what is the answer? It's Thursday!

I see that she is outraged and many folk are 'disgusted' at the newspapers, but I feel that she needs to take some responsibility for her own actions here. Different rules apply to the royal family and no matter how private that villa was, there was always a chance of sneaky pictures getting taken. She would have been surrounded by security personal, royal advisers, and domestic staff at the chateau and I wouldn't take my b00bies out in front of folk like that, even in my own home. In this case everyone seems to be shooting the messengers and pointing fingers in all directions. [i'>"She would have been surrounded by security personal, royal advisers, and domestic staff at the chateau .."[/i'> and in view of the photos said to be published today in Sweden that show her removing her bikini bottoms as well, its seems strange she would have done so in front of those people.

i try really really hard not to use taxis, if i do i expect them to stink, be dirty, be useless, rude and the experience to irritate me...... if only one of these things happen, it's better than i expected..... There is no public transport where I live so I have to get taxis. I have a European driver's licence that I could exchange to a UAE one and get a car but the traffic and the dangerous driving habits here are putting me off... I feel safer when I drive than when I'm in a taxi. At least I know what I'm doing and am trained to UK standards. Taxi drivers here are never up to the same standard IMO.

thanks Di@dxb do you remember which company you used? For sure I do but since I'm not sure if it was their fault or the local agent in Oz who was trying it on I don't want to put out a bad word on them. Basically just use a company that has offices in Oz and you will avoid that problem.
