No problem.....after working 11 years in the shipping and logistics industry -- I can't say that I miss it at all! But who knew - it certainly came in handy when making 2 moves across the globe! I hope you can get it worked out -- if you have any other questions, I might not be able to answer them for sure - but I can definitely try. My friends back home still do, and one of them even has his own business. They say once you start in the industry, you can never go anywhere else! lol Thanks, I would appreciate your advice. I've been quoted from dhs13,500 to 17,000 for 13cm from dxb to Freo groupage and the transit timings are really slow, like from 3 to 5 months. I am now trying to find out quotes for LCL shipping so would be grateful if you can advise a company that would give me a good price on that.

For weight loss i have a very great recommendation. I have a natural product for that. supplements, no side effects because its pure natural. Main product is aloe vera that will detox and cleanse your body. Before you recommend Aloe Vera on a public forum as a universal weight loss solution you should know that many people are allergic to it and may have serious reactions to taking it internally as I discovered when touted this product by another unqualified person who was completely uneducated in all aspects of this plant. I would like to warn anyone thinking of taking aloe Vera that it does not suit everyone and there are risks attached to consuming it if you are allergic to it. I was extremely ill after taking only a few small doses and the person who sold it to me urged me to continue drinking it even though I was becoming increasingly unwell, she claimed it was de-toxing me while in fact in was toxifyiing me.

Can anyone please recommend a good doctor to assess a back/spine problem? I am in pain but not sure who I need to see. An osteopath, chiropractor, physio?? I am thinking a good GP or Specialist would be a good place to start and they can refer me to the appropriate doctor? Any recommendations please? I am prepared to travel but will prefer someone in the Jumeirah, Springs, Jebel Ali etc area. Thanks ladies! I was faced with the same dilemma, what kind of a doctor do I need, it’s hard to tell and I did a full merry go round of all kinds ostoes, chiros, physios, acupressure, acupuncture, Chinese therapies and the mainstream doctors including top bone and joint specialists etc, in my case nothing really helped me mainly because they all seemed to deal with me without really diagnosing my exact problem which I have only recently discovered is a scoliosis or in fact in three scoliosis and none of the doctors or therapist I saw took this into account or apparently even diagnosed it . They then proceeded, particularly in the case of the osteo and physios to manipulate my back which resulted in only increased pain and disability. Now most of these practitioners I saw had been highly recommend on here. Not knowing what you condition is exactly I would say is please make sure you get a proper diagnosis before you go for any kind of treatment because what may be beneficial in some cases is not in all and I suffered a lot due to this cookie cutter treatment handout, not to mention a great deal of money and time wasted suffering unnecessarily. I did go to Up and Running and Laura there was the last person I saw in the chain and the only one who gave me any relief from the pain using Mackenzie treatment , while Laura was unfortunately not at work I have since then had Bowen therapy and PIDDS from the same practitioner which has also been more helpful to me than all the physio and osteo etc. It has given me immediate pain relief and is a gentle and not aggressive way to diagnose and treat back pain. I would say it’s worth your while looking into it. hth

Tchibo have some wheat filled microwavable bags if you don't mind it being an animal shape. They are not expensive. Hiya - thanks for your help. Where's that shop located? (anywhere near Dubai mall area) No prob with animal shapes here hehehe :) Do the wheat ones have that funny smell when heated? There's a branch in Oasis Centre and another in Ibn Battuta Mall, I have not used them so cannot say about the smell.

If you could pinpoint them on a map it would be helpful, but if you mean these ones http://wikimapia.org/15190616/SA-84-New-Sheikh-Ahmed-Bin-Rashid-Al-Maktoum-84-Villas Then I have a friend who has lived there for some time and she is very happy, never heard any complaints of any kind. Hers is well maintained, attractive layout 2 floor house with small garden.

I have seen it in Spinneys in the past. I would expect that Waitrose may have it too and possibly Safestway as they stock a good variet of imported products from the UK and US.

Thanks ladies. Have tried Spinneys, Park n Shop, Carrefour. Looked at baking section and pork sections. Maybe not looking thoroughly? Just wondering what packaging are they usually in? It is in all those stores, its a small white box, the make is Davis Gelatine, its usually next to the regular jelly boxes on baking section. This is what it looks like [url=http://www.google.com/imgres?q=davis+gelatine&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=598&tbm=isch&tbnid=v61Q_aDKzhWAjM:&imgrefurl=http://trolley.ae/desserts&imgurl=http://trolley.ae/image/data/products/9410251021258.jpg&w=500&h=602&ei=Cqs5UM3SIIOGhQeEtIHQDw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=585&vpy=213&dur=2668&hovh=246&hovw=205&tx=99&ty=143&sig=101143500891696588864&page=1&tbnh=119&tbnw=97&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:17,s:0,i:128'>link[/url'>

There is a law on this, and although it is illegal for stores to put up signs saying 'no refunds' or 'no exchange' a customer's entitlement to full refund does not legally include where you have just changed your mind. However some stores will let you take back goods that are still in unused condition and original packaging for refunds in this case. It really depends on the store policy and its worth a try, but don't expect to be able to demand it. Here is the law on consumer rights http://www.consumerrights.ae/aspx/r-s-providers/store-prices-signs.aspx hth ETA It's a pity you already said you had changed your mind, as you could have given other reason for returning it which may have been more persuasive such as it’s not the size that fits in your car for eg. And who did you talk to? Just the sales girl, I would try again with the manager with a different approach as it's really of lot of money to have locked up in store credit. And lastly if nothing else works, maybe offer the store credit for sale with some incentive, there must be lots of mum's to be lookiing to spend that much in kitting out for their new arrivals. <em>edited by Di@DXB on 26/08/2012</em>

You can find colour run remover at most supermarkets like C4 and Geant, Spinneys. Its in a small box I think the make is Dr Beckmann, should be near the soap powders etc, there's one for coloured clothes and one for whites. You soak the clothes in it for a while and then wash as usual. It will not work as well if the clothes have been dried and pressed though, but worth a try.

As far as I know a NOC letter from the father will be required if his name is on the birth certificate. If not then it may be enough to have a declaration stating you are not currently married. You would be best to talk to a expert in this field before approaching immigration with your case. There's a couple of previous threads on this topic that may help. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=171459 http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=173431

It may be faster to order from this website and have it delivered direct, they say 3 days shipping for international orders http://www.expresschemist.co.uk/product_8701_colief-infant-drops-7ml.html It doesnt seem to offer UAE delivery They deliver globally so UAE would come under 'Rest of the World" on the delivery options page I think, they don't specifically mention that they do not deliver here. http://www.expresschemist.co.uk/index.jsp?subframe=orderinginfo ETA you could drop them a line on their online form and they can advise before you make an online purchase http://www.expresschemist.co.uk/index.jsp?subframe=help&action=otherquery <em>edited by Di@DXB on 24/08/2012</em>

Have you tried Safestway, I would think if anywhere they may have it since they stock lots of US products. ETA although unless its a fresh batch I suspect it may not perform well with the experiment and given that its shipped from the US could be quite old by the time you get it here. Let me know if you don't find it, I may be able to provide a substitute that will do the same thing if you want Ivory for the microwave experiment. <em>edited by Di@DXB on 23/08/2012</em>

they are in a new country probably only as far as 3 weeks back now... dealing with language barriers which is why they are probably speaking louder and clearer to try and be understood better... just doing their jobs in a foreign land with majority of foreign customers... RANT OVER Arent the other waiters also working in a "foreign land" with "foreign customers"? Exactly and they do not resort to raising their voices at anyone.

I bought one a few years ago, cannot recall the brand, it was one of those with the hose and wand that you hang the clothes up on, anyway it was not a replacement for ironing items like men's shirts that need to be pressed, it removed creases but does not give a pressed ironed finish. I did not find it useful and gave it away. ETA the person I gave it to ended up chucking it a shed too! <em>edited by Di@DXB on 23/08/2012</em>

Try the little 'Japanese' shop in the Oasis centre (near Carefour express) - it has lots of little jars etc... Looks a bit like a £ or $ store but has a really good selection of things you can't find anywhere else and at really good prices. HTH That's Daiso and there are branches in Ibn Battuta Mall, Lamcy Plaza and Mirdiff City Centre, Arabian Centre and Barsha Mall too.

Godiva Milk chocolate with sea salt sounds wonderful.. Does anyone else here enjoy Lindt's dark chocolate with Chilli? Sadly me simpleasabc - that one is my downfall! If you want a more guilt free dark chocolate try the Loving Earth Chili its fat and sugar content is made of healthy ingredients. The main difference that makes raw organic choc healthier is it does not contain sugar, dairy butter and heavy cream and the cocoa is raw and unprocessed. Dutch Processing strips the life out of cacao and leaves nothing but the taste, then fats and sugar is added to create the sweet creamy taste, so a lot is sacrificed for the sake of smoothness. Bars made of Raw organic cacao are not quite as smooth as the fat and sugar rich bars we all love, but is actually full of nutrients that are good for you and does not contain artery clogging fats or sugar. So its a good alternative for when you don't want to feel bad about eating chocolate.

I went there last night and absolutely LOVED IT, i felt like i was back home in the OC and its exactly what i needed since i havent been back in a year! Food is just as good as back home you jsut have to know what to order. and i am SICK of everyone talking smack on americans being this way or that way... they are in a new country probably only as far as 3 weeks back now... dealing with language barriers which is why they are probably speaking louder and clearer to try and be understood better... i get so annoyed with the whole americans are loud thing i find many other cultures have people who are loud and people who are more on the quiet side enough with the stereotypes... do u all feel that much better as well? They are not being arrogant they have a month to train people before they go back home.. just doing their jobs in a foreign land with majority of foreign customers... RANT OVER Just my opinion, but I really cannot see the logic or justification for the excuse they are "dealing with language barriers which is why they are probably speaking louder." So if someone is unfamiliar with a language the way to make them understand better is to speak to him louder? Would anyone from any culture understand any language they're not fluent in a whole lot better if the other person shouted at as if they’re idiots instead of speaking in a normal tone? Don't see that as very courteous either.

Damn! Just got home from MOE! Checked HomeCentre in Ibn B yesterday and they didn't have anything like what I wanted so didn't think to check in MOE. Oh! Hang on... getting confused now. Is it HomeCentre in Ibn B?? Errr... brain has just switched off. K... anyway... thank you all. Will try MOE and Ikea as will doubtless need to go to MOE once again for something or other int he next few days and have to go to Ikea this weekend. Thanks The one in Ibn Battuta mall is Homes R Us, and they don't have nearly the range of baskets like Home Centre MOE. I've been looking at both this week.
