Wow Di.... I had no idea that so many Dubai based artists were doing this. Inspiring! Yes, I was quite surprised to find so many in Dubai, and I think there was mention of someone else who offers this as a freelancer on a recent thread too. I could not find it though. It seems there's a growing demand for it here now especially for custom nursery murals. That may have been me but I dont do walls but rather pictures (although would love to get stuck in to a few walls too) Its inspiring to see the UAE art scene doing well but what really amazed me is how good the websites are and how professional they are. Thats exciting! Why not have a go! Could be a whole new pastime for you!

It would be pretty easy to make one exactly the same thickness and less sweet, you just need a blender, some cookies and cream ice cream, milk and the Oreos.

Most restaurants in Dubai have seating for four so the choice is endless. Depends how much you want to spend? something up to 400-500 per pax maxx include wine thinking of Titanic or kladeoscop . Al Dawaar at the Hyatt is quite cosy and has a range of cuisines, plus if you get stuck for conversation its easy to start up a topic about the view at least.

The terms of the LL's right to access would need to be given in your contract I think. Look at your contract if it does not say you must provide access at the Landlord's request then I don't see how would you be obliged to. The law itself does not seem to make a rule on this subject. ETA other than this ‘By law, the tenant has the right to enjoy the property without intrusion from the landlord. Provided he/she does not carry out any illegal or immoral activities, the landlord should allow privacy,’ [url=http://thedubailaw.com/uaelaws/2010/12/dubai-law-no-26-of-2007-regulating-relationship-between-landlords-and-tenants-in-the-emirate-of-dubai/'>link[/url'> edited by Di@DXB on 08/07/2012

They are open on Saturdays, (Saturday 9.15am - 3.35pm) as you say you will need an appointment first and not sure you would be able to select your appointment day, last time I did a renewal there I got the first random day that came available. But you can call and ask. 0300 222 0000 (Adviceline) [url=http://maps.direct.gov.uk/LDGRedirect/MapDetailAction.do?datatype=passportofficesregional&dataref=6&backmapZoom=5&backmapLatitude=54.6738&backmapLongitude=-2.6807#mapanchor'>link[/url'>

actually i always check: expedia.co.uk travelocity.co.uk onthebeach.co.uk Travelocity and On the Beach have often been cheaper (not loads, but enough to make a difference). So I would always check other sites. Just compared on my usual route, travelocity came out dhs 62.00 more expensive than Emirates website direct.

I don't think you will find Emirates fares anywhere cheaper than on their actual website. This is their profit margin and if they lower it on expedia or anywhere else, they are making a loss. You may find it cheaper to book back to your home country on a one way ticket, then book your tickets with there as your starting point, usually works out cheaper. This does not apply from Australia though, its more expensive to route from there to Dubai than the other way round. I wish there was somewhere to get cheaper EK flights too!

Never use my CC to purchase online for just this reason, its far safer to buy those disposable Visa cards that you load with any amount, I find they have worked eveywhere I needed to buy anything from the UK to Australia.

What's with some of these stores and their supernormal profits? Ecomil non-dairy Hazelnut/Almond milk range one litre at Organics Cafe 17/21 dirhams exact same item in Choitrams Almond milk - 52.50! Agave Syrup - Lifco, Organics, Daily Gourmet (Al Maya Lals) differences upto 10 dirhams for 250ml. Organics still cheapest which is surprising considering most of us think they are expensive (and they are for some items). A gluten free bread bought at AED35 is now AED5 - sell by date sale - Nutrition Zone. And those GF items in Lulu's Barsha are a rip off if you ask me. They must make a killing! The non dairy milk range at the RIPE organic shop off ManaraStreet is even cheaper than Organic cafe actually, saw it today at just dhs12. a packet. And they have some gluten free items too as well as non bio organic washing powders and liquids. All very reasonably priced.

How can 'Testers' be sold? These items are usually marked 'Not for Resale by the company that makes the perfume', surely its not legal to sell a 'Tester'? Somehow, they are sold. Even in the US I have seen them all over the place (especially at outlet malls), marked as testers, and being sold at a price lower than the market price. That just reinforces the lack of confidence that I already have in that website based on previous experience with other things.

You just have to feed the crew's ego and say things like, "I don't know how you guys do it" and "passengers must be soooooooo annoying" and things like "if you find time" and "ooooh i'd love an upgrade" but never demean yourself too much, always have the upper hand and never tell them stories about your back ache because they couldn't care less. Hahahaha there just a fine line and you have to walk it. I'm always super nice to them and ask in that way normally, it never got me an upgrade. However the time I was suffering from a prolapse disc they were very nice, did care and bought me extra pillows.

I <3 EK crew, if you are nice to them they are nice to you but you have to get them on your side or they can really make your flight a nightmare. They have always managed to wrangle me 3 seats when flights are not full and the entertainment system is great and they give you two of those little bottles of vodka, not stingy like etihad... AND if they're in a REALLY REALLY good mood they'll bring treats from business class or even upgrade you (happened twice). You just have to speak their language. Emirates have the monopoly on the route I need so nothing stops them them from putting the prices up and up so I really would like to know how to speak"Emirates' too.

The more i talk about this... the more i get irritated. I need privacy thats why i got a villa too. Rather than appartment. That doesnt mean that i cannot talk or wish someone. We all die one day and nothing special i mean everybody go to the ground. I was trying to be nice and it didnt go that well. I guess i have to let it go and move forward. **Thanks to all..at least i got all these responses and i can make me feel good that some people out there care for me... in Dubai....... Yes, you do need to "let it go" for your own sake. If one incident like this impacts your mind to this extent you do really need to get out and find company, as others have suggested coffee mornings, Mum & tots mornings are all avaialble to you where there's lot of friendly ladies. Presumably you have got more than just this one neighbour, perhaps another will welcome your open and friendly approach. Ok one neighbour was not very nice, you don't know the reason, could have been anything happening in her day, why take it as mean or rascist. Negative thoughts only harm the one who thinks them. Think positive and lots of good will come your way.

I don't think its mean. It may be the case in India that neighbours are generally in and out of each others lives by default but here and in most parts of the world that I know people do not automatically expect close friendship from people who just happen to live in the same building or compound. If you need to make friends you have to go out and find other ways of meeting people you can have friendships with. I would hate it if my immediate neighbour expected close interaction from me on account of my being a door away from them. We have nothing whatsoever in common and maybe your neighbour just feels the same.

The bill has yet to be passed so I don't think it neccessary to start panic grocery shopping, and the article reports [i'>" Iranian political and military officials have said they had no intention on carrying out any threat to close the strait."[/i'> Plus there is a huge western navy present in the Gulf that will be an impediment to them ever carrying out this threat.

Kids don't have set bedtimes in this part of the world, it seems parents don't know or care that children need a certain amount of sleep to thrive. In my building we have packs of them screaming like banshees in the corridors & even banging on my front door sometimes as they play until past midnight. I have complained to the management in writing several time and in spite of there being a big sign in the lobby that the public areas are not to used for any activity that may disturb the residents nothing happened. I have to say none of them are western children too.

Cheap paint particularly some brands made here are very nasty. I've known them to give off toxic fumes and a horrible smell for months afterwards. Its worth paying a bit more for a decent make.

I have had several BMW's both here and in the UK, 3201 and 5 and 7 series. The main thing I would say about them although I love BMW's is that they do better in Europe than here, never had electrical or ac issues in the UK yet here they seem to not fare so well in the dust and heat. Service wise have had some appalling service in the UK too. In fact my 320i went from the time it was brand new for each service at the proper time, only for us to discover a year later that although they had charged us for replacement parts of all kinds of fairly minor things they had not ever touched the car at all from the time we had it delivered new. Can you ever trust service centres anywhere really?

There's a lot more alcohol in your average lipstick than in Coke. I would worry more about the 10 teaspoons of sugar in each can. The minute trace in Coke is 0.001 per cent alcohol while any lipstick can ususally contain up to 5% alcohol. There's alcohol in so many items, on an average day we probaly consume a measurable amount. Canned fruits juices and cordials can contain 1-43 mg/litre. Dijon mustard is made with wine, Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce has up to 3% alcohol. Coffee machine capsules contain Shellac (a secretion from a ground beetle) which is processed with alcohol, and many toothpastes, Dunkin Doughnuts, even infant formula, the list goes on and on.
