Someone further down this thread recommended a clin in Satwa for veneers, maybe try that. I was at Dr M's on Thursday and asked him, he definately does not do them, wish he did.

I have been searching for a particular design and colour dress and finally found it online at a UK store. Although I have a UK address (through shop and ship) I can't complete the purchase as I only have UAE and Australian issued credit cards. Is there a way around this? I recall reading somewhere that one could buy a type of debit card online. Does anyone know anything about this? I *really* want this dress!!! :) I have used the Visa 'Gift' cards you can buy in the malls, they have always worked in the UK stores online for me.

I would have no problem at all, just wonder if it would be fair to expose the mentally challenged to deal with Dubai public working environment where they is little enough patience, respect, compassion or tolerance towards the average 'normal' worker, particularly in the shops and service industry. Think it would be mostly unpleasant for them. Not sure that Dubai is ready.

thanks. Do you have a rough idea? Honestly no I don't sorry, what he explained to me was the price band is not only related to the actual carat, but also the are a range of prices within each carat band, like for eg. just under a half carat would not be priced according to the weight per carat for a stone in excess of half a carat. Sorry if I have not explained this well. I really just went by what he told me, he was recommeded by several people and so I hope I was dealt with honestly.

If you have the GIA or other certificates for them you should be able to sell them anywhere that buys jewellry, otherwise the only place maybe a small shop in the Gold Souk, its called 'Distinguished Fingers.' ( I know rather funny name :), anyway the owner, Mr Marwan is super nice and I think pretty honest. No GIA or anything. Do you have the contact details etc for Mr Marwan. Also do you have any idea of rough costs of diamonds as i am absolutely clueless on this. They are brilliat cut and i think 0.15 carot. Sure his number is 050 4530362 and the shop number is 2263946, its located behind Cash Express shop in Deira Gold Souk, he will give you the going rate I'm sure. Better call him and ask what that is for the carat before you trek over there.

If you have no commitments here and feel like going away I would do just that, a spell away from Dubai should help determine if you really had enough of it here or if its just some recent factors that have got you down right now. Fresh fields and new horizons will help sort it out.

From this article it would appear not illegal since the police are just cautioning people on the use of them..you would have thought there would be strickter control in and around houses. Its most annoying, maybe call the police and complain about the noise, there are laws on noise after a certain time at night. http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/general/police-warn-against-use-of-fireworks-1.858317

Welcome to Dubai, sorry you are off to a bad start, you could go along to the next coffee morning at the Marina, not far from the Greens if that is where you are. Click on the 'coffee mornings' link at the left side column of this page and you will see all the events where you can meet up with other mums. Hope you feel more at home soon, and yes it is hot and it must be tough without TV and internet too, hang in there things will get better! :) edited by Di@DXB on 29/08/2011

According to astrological calclations the moon will not be visible in this hemisphere tonight regardless of the weather, (unless they use a space telescope) Do they do that or depend on the naked eye?

The ONLY thing I like about the change is the new landscape design below our usernames. I would never have noticed it down there if you had not mentioned it, it would be better at the top. Also there's a mistake with the camels.

The Times New Roman is making my eyes twist and yes, I'm sorry, but the sign-in should be apparent on every page... simple mistake really. I think they cover it on "Website Design for Dummies" ... and the primary school drawing has got EVEN BIGGER! [b'>Can someone remind me why a disembodied Western woman's head with greasy hair and no nose peering over the curvature of the earth is meant to be representative of ExpatWoman... or maybe it's actually not a disembodied head, but a morbidly obese woman with no neck. [/b'>I had a funny notion that the ExpatWoman brand was meant to be professional and sophisticated, encompassing all nationalities. Hilarious!

I don't like the new "home" page with the map and having to click through to get to the forum (and don't get me started on the "huge" twitter and facebook pop ups - I'm sure I'm in the minority in that I use neither of those and perhaps that's why they irritate me so much LOL I'm in the minority with you on that one!

I'm sure I've seen size 8 in most of the stores here, its a standard size in the ladies ranges. As for the remarks about your feet unfortunately many people in Dubai seem to think its ok to comment on such things. Have you tried Hush Puppies, I know they go up to the larger sizes as I take a 7.

Hi I'm currently under treatment for disc problems and have been advised to take clinical pilates rather than yoga at this time. Depending on your condition it could be better for you to do that first, I know I could not manage yoga yet myself not being able to get to the mat and up again! Perhaps you are fitter and ok, in which case I would ask the physio clinics to recommend a class nearby, they should know of them or possibly offer classes themselves. P.S. Exhale have Yoga and Pilates classes in JBR http://www.exhaledubai.com/index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=categories&Itemid=89 edited by Di@DXB on 28/08/2011

Basic rule of web design... due to varying screen qualities/ sizes etc All fonts for web use should be [b'>SANS-SERIF[/b'> [b'>A web page is designed for its user ! Know your audience [/b'> What looks good on printed material does not translate to screens! fancy flashing banner are distracting and cheapen the look of the site [b'>the site has gone from looking "passable" to looking like a very bad 90's landing page with more emphasis on sponsorship than user experience. ![/b'>Heres a clue, you need your users to make the sponsorship valid.. no users no clicks! Agree - its a complete 'make[i'>under[/i'>'.

If you tell her you know its missing she will probably just deny it and you have no way to prove it now. I would put a little bit of cash there, leave the safe open and set up a camera and get her on footage taking stuff from the safe. Then confront her with the video. That should be enough to get her to return it to you.
