Pottery Barn Kids in Dubai Mall or Mirdiff does embroidery. I know they can do names and dates but not certain on the camel. You could always do the blanket and a small little stuffed camel that s/he will be able to play with as it grows older.

Did they test for a milk protein intolerance? He might not be able to break down the proteins...meaning he's not allergic to dairy which is why you wouldn't see results using a lactose free formula.

Thank you so much, ladies! Big Blue, I appreciate your thoughts about highway driving. I'll totally admit that one of the only things that has me a little bit nervous is how much negative information there is online regarding driving in Dubai! If all of the bloggers are to believed, driving in Dubai is like being in a Paul Walker and Vin Diesel movie, and if anyone rear-ends me, I'll be blamed as a westerner. I'm taking all that I read with several containers worth of salt, though... I'd love to hear stories about driving in Dubai to give me an idea of what it's really like! Chi82, if you can deal with I90 and Lake Shore Dr, you'll do fine in Dubai. this! Go out on a Friday to get your lay of the land then full steam ahead. ;)

Hi! Congrats on your pregnancy. I delivered 3 months ago at the new Al Noor and had a wonderful experience! My Dr was Dr Bachar and I was more than thrilled with him. He speaks good English, up to date machines, hubby is always welcome at all appointments, all stages of labor, and can stay overnight in your private room. The nurses were fantastic and so were the staff in the OR (I had a c-section at 41 weeks with no progress). Dr Marwan is great as well and Dr Saswan (or close to that) at the Cure clinic, she delivers at new al noor. They also have a great NICU. If you have any ?s feel free to ask. Plumie - do you think it will still work after 2 years of having the operation? Actually now that I read this website: http://www.medicinenet.com/keloid/article.htm I am thinking I don't have Keloid but hypertrophic scar .... because it is "confined to the margin of the wound" still after two years I can still feel the scar and at times can be very itchy. Should I go and see a dermatologist? Generally speaking, topical scar treatments work best when used closer to the time of the incision. Doubt it will do much if anything 2 years later. I would suggest seeing a dermatologist.

Hi! I just gave birth at the new al noor on airport road and had a great experience. My Dr was Dr Bachar and he was fantastic thru the whole pregnancy, birth and post care. Great bedside manner! Your husband can be there for all appointments, scans, all stages of labor and can spend the night in your private room. If you have any other specific questions feel free to ask!

What about the mosque, Ferrari World ( I hear the little ones love it) or coffee at Emirates Palace and a walk on the Corniche?

I'd go for North Carolina - it's beautiful there and you do get a change of seasons but without extremes!

Thanks everyone - you've put my mind at ease! I feel more than comfortable with my Dr and the staff so I'll go into my appointment tomorrow with knowing that I'm doing what's best for the baby and I and that we are in good hands. I really appreciate all of your kind words and for keeping me in good spirits!

Thanks ladies for all of your suggestions! I have another appointment with my current Dr tomorrow so we shall see. I'm not sure why it has been assumed that my Dr only wanted to do a c-section because I was at 40 weeks - sorry if I gave that impression. At 39weeks 2 days the baby was still in a transverse position. She then flipped but has since moved again. Because of her size the Dr doesn't know if she will get into a good birth position that will allow for a natural labor. He insisted on waiting until mid to late this week to make a decision as his preference was to let me go naturally. He didn't think inducing was the BEST option as he thought there was a good chance I would end up with a c-section anyways but again, wouldn't make any decisions until my next appointment. Since a c-section was never talked about until recently, I didn't know that no one was allowed into the OR, hence my last minute concern. edited by Chgo2AD on 01/02/2011

I've stayed at the Aloft a bunch of times - it's a good hotel, great pool, decent restaurants and it's close to the airport. Overall it's a great place but it depends on what she's looking for. It's not close to the city center, all the other hotels/restaurants/bars, shopping, etc. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask!

I have received packages thru USPS and have generally found it takes an additional 7-10 days from when I would have received it in the US. Meaning if it normally takes 5 days for the store to ship the products, I normally receive it in 12-15 days. Hope that helps... Can't really comment on the partial shop n ship, US phone # thing. Sorry!

Can't comment on exiles but I use Helpers although from what I hear there is now a waiting list. They charge 35aed per hour with 3 hour time slots - not sure if you can do 4 hours or not. I think it's 9-12 or 2-5. We've been using them for around 6 months and have been pleased with their services and the fact that there is no contract. You can cancel if you are going on holiday or add more days here and there without problem. GL!

I've seen Dr Baschar for my entire pregnancy but have many friends who have also seen Dr Marwan. You'd be in good hands with either of these Drs! Trying to remember back but I believe my first appoinment was around 7-8 weeks to confirm the pregnancy. I might have had an ultrasound then as well but can't remember for certain. If I didn't then I definitely had one at the next appointment 2 weeks later.
