Hello, We went through the same thing with our daughter earlier this year, only difference is she was 2 years old, which was a little harder because she had been used to it for so long. we asked her pediatrician also, and he said that the best way is to go cold turkey. Trust me i completely understand your suffering as i was almost in the same situation, i spend the entire day with her. What helped us was (and dont laugh) is scratching, while she was falling asleep we would gently rub her back or leg and it kind of replaced the pacifier. It takes a while for them to get used to it, but in the end, you will be happy. Good luck and do try your best to nap or just relax while she is napping, i know it is difficult to say. good luck again

Hi JMP, We just got back from Rome last week, i have to agree it is a wonderful city. I would also think that staying in an appartment or B&B would be more suitable for a family, as it may be more convinient & comfortable to make some meals or pack some sandwiches for the day. Dont bother going to the expensive, designer shoppinf streets unless you are willing to spend a fortune. We saw a wonderful street called the Vie Ottaviano (near the vatican), there were so many clothing stores that were just wonderful bargain deals. If you are looking for designers, then you can head to the via condotti. As for the tours, we did not buy any, we just baught the entrance tickets to the vatican online (to avoid the cues), baught a book about the vatican, and toured it ourselves. As for the Colosseo, we baught a tour, it was a great tour; it covered some restricted areas (underground dungeons & upper floors), really worth it, the standard entrance to the colosseo is around 13 or 15 euros, the tour was around 22 euros, but wrth every penny, especially when you go to the upper floors, and see everything. If you plan to buy the tours online, buy them from the respective websites for each tour or entracnce ticket so that you wouldn'y end up paying an additional charge to that seller. We stayed just near to the vatican, the Saint Peters was beautiful to see, roaming the streets was wonderful, and commuting to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Piazza Del Popolo and Trevi Fountain was very easy. There is also something called the roma Pass, which entitles you to 3 days public transport and 2 museum or archological sites entrances for free. You can check out the roma pass webpage to see a list of places you can visit, it costs aroud 25 euros per person. I am sure you will love it...It is a very romantic city and yet, very family friendly (we travelled with our toddler, and it was a joy). Hope you enjoy your trip.

Hello Laura, I really dont have any information about JPS, however i can tell you this, what ever school you choose, you will need to apply soon as most/many schools seem to be filled for a few years ahead depending on the grade/year. Good luck with your school hunt. Tip: try posting your question in the schools/nursery section, you might get more responses there. :)

Hi Shaf, I had my baby almost 3 years ago, in an excitment fit, i went and baught the wii, the wii fit and all the exercise CDs that you can buy for it, and used it a few times. It is very useful, active, and creates an exciting atmosphere to exercise with, but you really need to be disciplined and motivated.. Unfortunately it doesnot connect to PS and you cannot play any DVDs on it. Good luck... I hope it works for you

Apple offers its own word processing app called [url=http://www.apple.com/ipad/from-the-app-store/pages.html'>Pages[/url'>, which imports and exports MS Word documents. EDIT - actually, a better option for you might be [url=http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/quickoffice-pro/id310723177?mt=8#'>QuickOffice Pro[/url'>, which allows you to create, open and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint docs. edited by edna.welthorpe on 05/06/2011 Thank you for the information edna.

I just have one question, where did you live? As the thought of spiders just creeps me. We were looking to live in the springs, then i heard all these stories about spiders, so we changed our mind.

Hi, My baby had something similar a few months back, (she is 30 moths old), turned out to be a virus around her tonsils, slight fever, slight coughing. However i would reccommend you get her checked by a pediatrician just to put your mind at ease, we usually go to DR. Jhonny al Sayegh, he is a lovely pediatrician, very patient and friendly with the little ones, and patient with parents when asking too many questions ( it tend to do that a lot, panic & question), his clinic no. is 04-3215504. Good luck, and i hope your little girl feels better.

Hi Ladies, I couldn't agree more, i have been looking for a job for almost 6 months now, and i am also willing to go full time, but its just so difficult to find something, i have almost 6 years of HR Management experience, and still nothing, Recruiters will call, ask if you like a job and never update you. I work in HR and recruitment and we never left a candidate hanging. Good Luck SQ, and good luck to all. Chirine

Hi, Tha only nursery i know of around the marina; is the Jebel Ali Village nursery (in Jumeirah Beach Residence), my daughter will be starting there in September. they seem really good. For 5 days a week 8:00 to 12:00 they charge app. 8000 dhs per term. You should try calling them. I also think there is a raffles nursery in the Marina, but i dont know anything about them. I hope this helps.

Hi, just wanted to add you really need to see these nurseries for yourself. What may be good for one family is not necessarily good for another family. My DD goes to Blossom too but if you do a search on old Threads, Blossom has had a bit of a bashing in the past. What is important is that you are happy with the nursery in the first instance. DD loves being at Blossom but at times their management decision is enough to make me see red! I Surely agree with you.

She use to go to Inspire. Don't want to bash them online, things may well have turned round there now but for me it wasn't a great fit. Best advice is to go and see a few nurseries, u'll soon get a feel for what is right for you and ur little one. Hello BettyBubbles, thank you for the info.
