pffffft yes thank u to beigey, emily g, emlsrne, anon dubai....who, although did not agree with it, like many, were actually helpful and i listened to with respect silly remarks, from people who feel because they r in a forum, can b rude, go right ahead. i will take comments from people in person and deal them as an adult-thank u amy for your insight ;)

have to say, have just returned and you were all right complete waste of money nice vibe, but dont feel the VIP tickets were worth it AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! Not enough vendors, shows, or anything hope the organisers see this.. 5 years in a row, they shoulda got it right by now :(

some helpful advice ladies....thank u just to clarify...am not a toddler and tiara freaky mum....but have a daughter who is very comfortable in front of a camera and is a confident happy soul and i was wondering to give it a bash....if she is not happy, then thats the end of that :)

i know a local photographer who is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING! Dont know if she's done pregnancy photos but i've used her for newborn photos (and every other event since) give me your email add and i'll forward it on to her. she's very affordable too... plus, i was in pink pepper the other day and there were some stunning pregnancy shots in an album...but much pricier she DOES do bumps-check her out! http://www.bluecicadaphotography.com/#!galleries/vstc1=bumps

my favourite gft i received was a passport holder for new bub, pregnancy record book, lullaby book/cd, AND A WICKED TUTU!!!!!!!1 :P I had a passport holder as a gift for last little one, but after going in out of the UK and having to remove it and put it back all the time I ditched it! oh! (dunno if u've seen my other thread), but havent had the chance to use it yet thanks to ****** dusseldorf!

I submitted my application via DHL on the 15th June, it arrived 18th in Dusseldorf. Happy days. THEN a friend directed me to the website (she's in the exact same position as me) to say they were experiencing 8 week delays and had brought in extra staff to cope with the extra demand. Several calls later, all charged to my credit card, they confirmed yesterday that they haven't in fact started my application (!) and will send it back at my expense. I am now waiting.... I need a new passport to get to the States in August so am stressing but will definitely do the one day service in London en route. Don't do it if you need to travel anywhere soon. Oh yes, once your passport is in 'the system' and your credit card has been charged, its almost impossible to recall your application. The minimum of 8 weeks turnaround was a huge shock - I did passports for my kids 4 months ago and I got them back in 10 days. Can u send the link to say about the 8 week delay....i;ve been on, bu tcant see it. thanks

If you are planning a trip home at all, just do it there if you can. I used the Premium 1 Days service which was super quick and efficient. So glad I am not stuck without a passport for god knows how long, as you just never know what is around the corner and when you might need it. It costs about the same as it would be to renew from here anyway!! Its for my babies 1st passport..... and we didnt think there would b a back log.... was thinking of going anyway and doing the way u suggested...but her original birth certificate is now is dusseldorf :( no summer hols for me this year i fear... :(

DR LUTHERA at medcare is very. not fluffy and about to hold ur hand, but she is excellent at what she does. BUT....she is a mission to get appointments with at first.....but once u have had 1 appt with her, u can get in at the last minute for appointments, especially when urgent good luck x

I think it's 50dhs for each pass if your balance is zero? was just about to say that....and if u dont pay ur fine thats against your driving license, u can get fined more if the police happen to pull u over for something else or they randomly check.... i know what u mean, its the principle, but for u personally is it worth it?

i'm the muslim in our relationship....and my dh ate and drank around me...and i was fine with that. we just discussed beforehand what was acceptable...dont know if u've had that chat with him, whether he wants the support for food/drink or just the conjugals...lol and yes poor dh went on a ration and we ARE married! but thats my personal opinion and views... its whatever keeps u both happy x

a friend of mine suggested boiling dill seeds in water and the mother drinking it... this does something (dont know what! lol) to the breast milk and reduces wind/hiccupping i didnt try it in the end, but u can get the dill seeds in choitrams.... good luck x

babyshop have a wicked one..its quilted...and little toys sewn on it....has detachable arch (that is sponge and bendable, easy to foldaway, or just unclip if u dont want to travel with) LOVE IT! Very affordable too...like 129dhs...plus there is a sale at babyshop this week, so may even b cheaper!

Just FYI I was in Choithrams just now and noticed they had Playtex bags which can also be frozen - they were in the 4oz and 8oz size and were around AED 25-30 for 100 bags so really very inexpensive IMHO. Might be worth taking a look at those? sounds like the best deal...will try those :)
