Just had a c section 4 weeks ago and had to wear the compression socks though they made me incredibly hot at night. I had a spinal block on top of an epidural that didn't take completely. There was period of time that I passed out/slept but it took a bit longer to put me back together and I did vomit at one point...maybe a little bit of shock for me!

Looks like the thread has been quiet for a while. How are all the mommies-to-be feeling? Some of us are quite close now!

I am hanging in there with less than four weeks to go but feeling large :) I am on Facebook but I don't think you will be able to find or friend me because of my privacy settings. If you like, i will keep an eye on here and you can leave your name or email and I will let you know once I pull it off, you can delete it. I am planning on coffee morning tomorrow at Dubai Mall, also.

Hi All, I'm from the UK and live in Downtown Dubai and have a 6 and half month old baby. I have only been in Dubai for 10 weeks. Would anyone like to meet up? I look forward to your replies. Thanks Also, living in Downtown...I am due with my first baby in a month and I know no one here with children more or less babies! Every week I tell myself I am going to join up a coffee morning and every week I forget! I have a case of pregnancy brain! There is a Bumps and Babes in Dubai Mall @ 10 am on Mondays, I believe...which of course I missed today. How about making a plan to go next week?

I am in my 30's and got my first facial last year. I always thought I had oily skin with minor adult acne. After my facial and using the recommended products for about a month, my skin did a turn around. Apparently my skin was very sensitive and all the "acne" products were just making it worse. I know there are so many facials available out here, I just stick with a dermalogica prescriptive facial, so it is tailored to my needs. I have been going to Essa in JLT about every 5-6 weeks and they are great and reasonable (I am comparing this to US prices). I also look forward to the hour+ of relaxation :)

@closer2fine Admin just deleted my email address, if you are intrested in meeting up, lets do the coffee morning. If you like, right to me Hi @RamC. Sorry, I have not logged in a while and missed your message. I have been sick for just over a week, but back to feeling normal! Do you currently attend the coffee mornings? If so, which one?

Where in the US are you from? I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but lived in the Washington DC area for almost 4 years prior to moving to Dubai.

I'll freely admit that despite having kids and a job. I feel the same way from time to time. American as well. Nevertheless, I'm glad I forced myself to get out when we first arrived and I have made a few friends. Try the coffee mornings if for none other reason than it will force you to get out and interact with others. I guarantee you won't regret it even if you don't meet anyone you click with. Are you an Indigo Girls fan? (Hence the screen name?) That makes me feel better. I know, I know, part of the problem is the forcing myself out of the comfort zone. At 34 years old, I just feel so old around some of the people I have met out here. Prefer pubs to clubs, comfort to cuteness, rock to pop... And YES, Indigo Girls is one of my favorites.

Hi Ladies What is with the horrid traffic at JLT? Almost like the old days are back again! It takes up to 45 minutes on a bad day to get out onto Sheikh Zayed....do we know what's being built? Very curious to see if the plans make like easier for us JLT residents. Here is what I could find: http://www.dmcc.ae/jltcommunity/news-events/news/news-details/348/
