I bought a bottle of RS EVO 750ml for 15Dhs from Union Co-op the other day....it's Spanish. While I used to buy Bertolli back home, it's more expensive here I find, so I go for other unknown brands. Isn't it all the same though? I hope so! I use it in everyday cooking,incl my curries! Hope it isn't toxic...will have to research that one day!

my DH snores....I poke him really hard, he mumbles and turns over. This usually does the trick, but on the odd occasion it hasn't, I've sent HIM to sleep on the couch :)

I didn't think Hotmail was popular anymore since the last 2 decades. Really ?? 20 years ??? lol Okay, that was a slight exaggeration - but it would be a million years old in IT years! :D HoTMail was launched in 1996 hence the exaggeration was actually .... slight :) wow! 1996 only seems like yesterday...I didn't get hotmail until years later, in fact wasn't even allowed on the internet at work then either.

I've been having problems lately with my hotmail account. For some reason I can only open messages when I'm logged onto VPN...strange I know, because, I can access it via my mobile! What's really weird is when I try to log out, I get that Du warning you get when you try to open a "dodgy" website. Dunno what that's all about, but I'm going to change my password in case I have been spammed!

Absolutely agree...I loved this film. Even DH who nevers watches Bollywood movies, enjoyed this one with me. No moosic though...a Bollyvood pilm is no pilm widout a song shong nah? ;)

Been told by son's school that it would be better if he was to leave has he has not been putting in enough effort and they do not think he can catch up. Am I right in thinking that it will be very diffucult or almost impossible to get him into another school at this time of year? Don't like the thought of him jiust sitting aroiund at home doing nothing. He is 17 in October What? Help. Can they do that? It's been done to us too this year at the 11th hour, but because they think he just can't do it (my DS is still primary). So they are getting away with it, I don't think they CAN do it - but they give you the option like quit or be fired. And DS has learning difficulties and has come a mile in the past few months but they just don't want the problem (and nor do any of the schools who still have places at this time of year!) AA82, if a child has a learning difficulty, are they not exempt from these exams at the end of the year? Also ,do they not adjust the curriculum to better suit him?

Long fingernails are a terrible eye-dea lol I've never really noticed whether any of my hairdressers had long nails. MInd you ,my hairdressers never wash my hair it was always someone else. hope your eye's ok & I hope they apologised! Star Int'l have spaces.It's British Curriculum. They are a new school ( 2008) and have just extended to secondary this year starting with year 7. It depends, if you're looking for an established school, this may not be what you're looking for. They only take a deposit once they offer you a place. HTH :)

what daal are you cooking? it could be you are putting in too much garam masala or dhaniya powder? I personally keep it very simple when it comes to the spices etc and my daal is scrummy ;) well I like to think it is anyway :D ETA : just red chilli flakes, salt,dhaniya powder & turmuric, added to the daal when boiling . Zeera ( cumin seeds) added when doing the "tarka" along with the garlic <em>edited by coco pops on 19/03/2012</em>

Just make sure you check that the bags from Daiso are ok for food. The bags in the food storage area are fine however the bags in the gift bags and boxes area say they aren't to be used for packaging food. Not sure why but not willing to test it out... They had a picture of slices of cake on the packaging, so i assume they'll be ok. I've not used them as yet, so I can't really say.

I found some in Daiso last week at Al Barsha Mall. They are smallish around 17cm by 18cm & they have a little ribbon to tie around it. I think it was 7 Dhs for a pack of 12. HTH :)

I'm pretty sure you only get the Transfer Certificate after your child has left the school. This was the case when I switched schools last term. About 3 days after leaving the school I was issued with one to hand in to his current school. HTH :)

Call me naive, or plain dippy, but why.... If you ask for an opinion ,in particular regarding schools, if it's negative, the comment will get removed? It doesn't get removed if it's for example a beauty salon, or,who sells rubbish cuts of meat or bread. I mean everyone is entitled to their opinions & if people here are genuinely asking for information, it's good to read negative as well as positive feedback....right? I mean schools are selling a service to us, if they don't live upto expectations,for one person, why shouldn't they be named...everyones experiences are different...just like each child is different & their needs are different. It's different if they were doing us a favour and their reputation relied on government funding or whatever.... Why should we fork out all our hard earned cash to schools and find out a term in that it was totally the wrong school....but we went for it because what we read was all positive positive positive on a forum.... Shouldn't it be unbiased.....a bit like say ( I whisper) mumsnet? anyway, it's been really grating me lately.....maybe you'll help change my mind, maybe it'll be one of those things I'll have to "put up with " ( shrugs shoulders) to top it off this thread will prob get removed and I'll be none the wiser. p.s I didn't anything for Mothers Day & now I'm getting stroppy....if I knew of the "not so nice" schools at least I could put all my sprogs there, for not getting me anything! ( joke!!!)
