One becomes a class mom if one has an interest in doing more for their children's education than dropping them off and picking them up again at the end of the day (unless your maid does that for you). Parents who can't be bothered because they are too busy doing something else (gym, coffee, shopping?) are unbelievable. Is it really too much effort to do a little extra? I'm sorry if my post/message came across as a total disregard for class moms. I was genuinely interested in knowing how people/mums got chosen across different schools as well as different year groups.IMHO personally I channelize my energy and time volunteering directly with the class rathar than mediate/ coordinate endless activities. it just seems impossible for everyone to be on the same page even with regards to the basics. Given this task, I do have respect and sympathy for class mums. edited by colours on 16/10/2014

I thought they were the same ! Just I means international. Does that imply that all British curriculum schools offer the same igcse program?

Hi anondubai, Congratulations on your new arrival.. When I first delivered in city hospital dubai. .The lactation consultant there advised me that most nipple related problems such as dryness, cracked skin etc could be sorted by applying your very own breast milk to the affected areas. Apparently breast milk has some natural healing properties bestowed by nature itself. Could you give it a go and see if it works for you. Sorry i can't vouch for anything as i didn't have any related issues..

Hi Leena. . I am not a dess parent...I had the same reservations about dess that you currently do. my only advise to you is take a school tour before you take up a place there. Yes it is a brilliant school..however not a fit for us. Best of luck with your decision.

At the cost of sounding like a racist. .your chances are brighter if you hold an Australian/ nz or any other European passport as compared to asian ones..

Thankyou all for your interesting inputs..we are considering a British curriculum school.. Tru blu..dess is a lovely school..however I have not been able to get through them...still trying... Big blue.. will need to visit the new schools to get a feel of them. Horizonmom2. . Horizon has some wonderful teachers..and that s what makes them so nice..however a bit more organization on their part..wouldn't hurt anyone. Gmksme.. couldnt agree more..

Horizonmom2..thanks for your feedback. Would you suppose that these home link based projects are compulory for everyone..or does it depend on the convenience of the parents. Also are these recorded/graded. Pocketrocket..if possible would be great to hear your side of the story for our benefit..

Hello everyone...interesting inputs. .if someone could please shed some light on the 'no homework policy'..most other schools like jess, japs etc have a fair amount of homework iincluded in their curriculum. It is seen as revision of school work in the home environment as well as gives parents a chance to be actively involved in the child s academics. If this progressive method of teaching was indeed so beneficial, wouldn't the other schools follow suit. My comment does not aim to offend any person/ system..rathar im just trying to understand the pros behind this issue..tia
