I second kiwispiers , I too start with water and then start using fluoride-free tooth paste. My 2 yr old LO is still not spitting out tooth paste so I will stick to these for the time being and then gradually move to a fluoride toothpaste something with a 250ppm to 400 ppm fluoride content. Hope this helps.

I was in the same situation until I figured out it only happened if i try to refresh the page. The moment I refreshed page more than once system would kick me out for 2-3 hours. As long as you keep moving from one page of the site to the other without refreshing , things should be fine. Hope this helps.

Introduce your preferred milk in a cup just like any other drink. Baby should consider it as another fun drink like say juice etc. Introduce it in small quantity like half cup ( to avoid wastage) ..whenever he is ready for a snack. The idea is to introduce him to the new taste without letting him know its a replacement for your milk. You can build it up slowly. If sippy cup skills are still developing you can try straw. Sometimes kids are ready for straw quite early. Slow weaning works best. I had no trouble with both of my children but I weaned them at 2. At that age they were much ready for a normal cup and quite used to the taste of fresh full fat milk. Hope that helps.

Hi i have recently shifted to dubai and i am working in Jebel Ali. Please share with me good nursery near by. You can check out kidz venture in ibn battuta mall and chubby cheeks in discovery gardens.. These are the only two choices in gardens area but I have not tried any of these. If you can drive then there are many nurseries in JBR/marina area which can be a short drive for you.

Hello ladies, I know this has been done a million times, but I really need some nursery advice. Having visited various nurseries, all I want is a nursery that a. doesn't smell of poo, b. is clean c. Has friendly and caring staff, d. has spacious classrooms and outside space e. it's not a total rip off and lastly, the children look like they are happy and having fun. So far, Kids Island is the top of my list but I would like to visit some comparable ones in case there is something else that ticks some more boxes (although I loved Kids Island, I found the classrooms to be fairly small). Please give me some suggestions. Have visited the following: Little Discoverers Little Wonders Cooper Nursery Kids Cottage Jebel Ali (JBR) Kids Island Please give me an insight into your experiences. Really appreciate it. TIA :-) Hi Britchick4... Any luck with the selection? Have you finalized the nursery for your child?

I visited a nursery recently and everything looked fine but when I checked out the classroom washroom.. The had shelves installed over the toilet with all cleaning chemicals in sight (harpic, jif, dettol etc) and this was same with all class room washrooms. I could even see the mop and bucket stashed in a corner in some of them. They had the tub covered up and were using it as an extra table space to dry up yesterday's art work. ([b'>I visited when all children were gone).[/b'>Is this how nursery washrooms are organized and used elsewhere? Feedback please? How different are things in your child's nursery? Do you know if that's how they are stored when the children are there ?? Talked to the lady.. They are allowed by the ministry to keep those cleaning liquids inside the washroom as long as they are in their original containers and out of reach of the children. Even if that means a wooden shelf installed on the wall. She explained they keep them in washroom just to keep them handy in case of some toilet accident.. To stop spread of germs. Any feedback on this? edited by comp99 on 28/05/2013

But in any case I am going to give them benefit of the doubt and clear it up over the phone.

Comp99, got it.....thanks for that, have you visited Willow and the Blossom nurseries? These are my top two choices and just really really confused....one doesnt provide lunch and has lots of additional programmes and follows aspects of the Reggio Emelia concept, the other provides lunch, has more additional indoor playspace and larger classrooms. The staff were wonderful at both, really confused. What is your top choice so far? I have visited willow also.. And it's beautiful.. But it's a bit of a commute for DH in the morning so he is not too keen on it. .. Blossoms comes recommended by most but I would suggest you consider it's Manara branch.. Blossom village instead. My friend have recently moved her son from blossoms to blossoms village. plus blossoms class size is quite large which I am not too keen at. Just for a note.. When I visited willow.. The lady told me they are looking for some company for providing food from sept.. It would be some order based thing... So in case it is something you want you can ask them in detail.. For me.. I don't need food and long hours so its no biggy. I am a bit fascinated by the montessori method.. But the montessori nurseries I have visited so far were not able to tick all the boxes for me. So the search goes on. Hope that helps.

Hi mayasmom , yes ikea sell cardboard boxes. they are nice and strong ones. If you cannot be bothered about going there specially for boxes then just go to your nearest supermarket (the small ones).. And ask the cashier you want to BUY the boxes they have left over from all their deliveries. (They do get a lot of deliveries every day). Just make sure you mention you intend to buy them.. Cause mostly they think you are asking for boxes for free and would simply tell you off that they don't have any. Hope this helps.

This is our second year at Star and now moving to year 1. We are very happy. The management is great. Teachers are great. Star club is very convenient if you have two kids who are finishing school at different times. All the time they are improving things and parents are involved/informed at every stage of decision making. I love the fact that the management is not money minded like various other schools and unlike others, you are not asked to pay entire september term fee even before you finish the january term. plus they have moved already till year 8 so no need to find a secondary school after your child finishes primary.

Hi, I just visited Kiddy planet nursery in Umm suqeim and the receptionist told me they are opening their new branch in Al Qouz behind Dubai international school. May be you can call them up for more detail.
