Sara do you have any friends who are or have been pregnant, or can you join an ante-natal group to have some support. Much of what you are feelign will be hormonal but it's not nice to be going through it alone.

Suggest handing them in to the Police Station or to RangeRover themselves who will probably quite easily be able to trace the owner.

Your best bet would either be a daily agency maid or a maid under your own sponsorship.

the flight on the Royal Brunei Dxb-Lhr leg is at 2.20am which may impact the choice you make if you don't like night flights.

does it have to be a hen night? it's your day, you do what YOU want to do and don't feel pressured into doing something else. Why not suggest a day at a beach hotel spa, all of your girls get together with dressing gowns and a nice lunch and spend the day getting pampered. Perfect weather for it as well.

in Dubai, Latifa or Iranian would be your best affordable option. They'll be more expensive than other emirates though.

Yes you will, and any supermarkets which sell Indian/local vegetables, e.g. Lulus, Choitrams etc. They are not as big, orange or pumpkin like as the American ones but they do the job :)

It is guaranteed not to be mould but a leak. There will be a leak in a bathroom (it doesn't have to be close by). the water is leaking from a cracked pipe in the bathroom, behind the tiles, travelling along the floor, and up the walls. that's why it starts from the bottom up. You need to isolate the leak, this will involve breaking a few bathroom tiles. once isolated, you will have to strip the paint from the wall and let it dry out, for about a month. then you can repaint. Quite a common problem, and it is also common to be told by umpteen people that it is mould/humidity/ac problem/etc for months before someone tells you what it really is. :)

Hi- from the Ranches come down Um Suq St and go to either beach Rd or Al Wasl Road. Kite beach is between Um Al Sheif St and Al Manara - about half way between. So once you get to Al Manara Street take the next available u turn (on Bch Rd) and after 3-4 streets take a right. That makes sense in my head but may not read very well. :-p

Try and stay out of malls as much as possible. In Al Nahda, you are so close to Mamzar Beach Park. Check the RTA wesbite for buses in that direction, or share a taxi with some friends, it won't be much between you. Also for apartments, check out the ones at the back of silicon oasis, they face out over the desert. There are loads for rent at the moment so you may find they are similarly priced for a lovely view. There is no end to the list of 'what to do' in dubai so just get out and explore, especially the older areas, bastakiya etc. All accessible by metro too! :)

Dear EB Welcome to Dubai! You've got two years ahead of you so it's time to stop focusing on the things that you don't like and start finding out why so many people love Dubai! It sounds as though you mostly hate your apartment, rather than Dubai? It is quite common to feel like a caged rabbit in an apartment when it is too hot, but you are almost at the end of summer now and during Winter you'll hardly be home to see it. Maybe you could say which area your apartment is and EWers can help you see what's awesome in your area. As a starting point, go and get a picnic dinner and head down to the beach for sunset tonight. Kite Beach is nice as it's nice to watch the surfers, or if you have a car and feel like an expedition, Mamzar beach is lovely. Being near the water to relax and being in huge spaces is great when you live somewhere small. Think of your apartment as somewhere you just come home to crash out instead of somewhere where you sit and stare at the walls. Things will get better soon. We know, we have all been there. :)

Although the motion sickness symptoms definitely sound pregnancy related, for those just feeling fatigued, please remember to not only drink water but to also replace their salt and other minerals as this climate drains you of these. My parents who moved here in the 70s were prescribed salt tablets daily as were most expats in those days but this is now generally forgotten and the more water you drink, actually the more fatigued you will feel as you flush the remaining salts out of your system. Drinking Masafi which has a higher sodium content will help or drinks like Pocari sweat. Hope you feel better soon!

Yes, of course you can contest it. Machines and humans make mistakes! It is worth going in person rather than calling, just pop in and speak to someone, ask them to show the photograph of the number plate. It is likely it has been mis-entered. Someone I know recently had 12 black points removed by going in person to talk about it (same sort of issue).

Hi, thank you all very much for the information. Haven't quite finished this yet but can update as follows:- I went to Bur Dubai Police Station and was sent to the Ports police station where I was sent to the CID Dept which is near Al Mulla Plaza. They would have started the process there but if it's an old application they need the File No from Immigration so I'll get that first and then go back to CID. It seems quite simple once you have the attested fingerprints, file number (if it's old), passport copy etc. And nobody has yet looked at the Power of Attorney! But no need to go to Abu Dhabi (so far!).

I think there's two ways of thinking about this. One is that if you work reduced hours then are you entitled to have the same number of holidays as a full time person? In a previous position I thought this way and pro-rata'd the days accordingly. However now I am of the thinking that if you work for example 8am-3pm then your holidays are also 8am -3pm, I think you could look at it either way. Very employer dependent I guess!

Yes, loads of positive experiences. The following information can greatly help your chances: -If you can't remember what "type" of Dubai Taxi it was (Metro Taxi etc) then try and remember the colour of the roof or the driver's tie. -The amount of the bill. -Destination etc. It is usually a full 24 hours before you hear anything as the taxis work two 12 hour shifts so the drivers will drop off the item after their 12 hour shift and then it will filter through the Lost & Found system. Hope you get good news soon!

Latifa hospital is an excellent paediatric hospital and often has visiting Drs from Great Ormond Street. https://www.dha.gov.ae/EN/Media/News/pages/visiting-doctors-in-april-2014.aspx You could speak to the neurology department and find out who the neuologist is.

Infertility is a very sensitive subject for most couples Innon so the wording of your post may be seen as hurtful to some. Most people are already aware of problems they may have before they arrive in the UAE (of which there is a huge range and from either the husband OR wife) and maybe it is only once they move here and have the extra time/extra funds/no hospital waiting lists like their home countries, they can explore other options.

The Outlet Mall has some amazing discounts, however some of the brands start off being super expensive anyway. So you may get a pair of shoes that is reduced by 90% but they may still be very expensive! There are some lower priced brands too, but just warning you that the shops have quite a wide range in budget. It may depend how rich you are. :)
