What does DH say with regards to her sleeping at odd hours, and not completing the daily duties that she is supposed to do. If he's home surely it is easier for him to monitor and he must notice that she is flat out snoring when she is supposed to be hoovering?

Parking on opposite side of Novotel is free. The sports centre itself has a Zoom cafe open...sells dunkin donuts, wraps, salads, paninis, tea, coffee etc. Is there somewhere enclosed to sit and eat these?

Both the Ibis and the Novotel have a food outlet open, however only one of them has wifi (if that's relevant!), i think it's Novotel.

People generally only do a will here if they have property which can be difficult to sort out without a will. The procedure used to be that a will was translated into arabic and attested at court. However there is now recently a new law allowing wills from your home country to be lodged at DIFC Re salary, pension, furniture, they all sound like things your DH's HR dept would be sorting out though, most companies would have the employee sign something to say who their beneficiary is for things like this. HTH.

Today's haze is humidity :) It gets particularly humid when the monsoon starts in India/Asia so as it is raining heavily there, it feels hot and sticky and just WET here while the atmosphere looks hazy and foggy. Then on other days it can look very dusty, that's normally when it is windy blowing from Saudi Arabia. When it is very very clear and crystal blue skies (that look unusually crystal clear), it normally means it will rain tomorrow. :)

'twas a hot summer's night and the air felt thick when we suddenly noticed the absence of EWHQ's stick with no-one to monitor the adverts galore 'can't you ban them' screamed EWer's silent implore 'They're filling up pages with nonsense and tripe there's no space left for my maid's latest gripe' Yet pages filled up with more and more ads while EW got cross at this latest fad Suddenly, out of the blue, came a thread which made all take note, and filled us with dread EWHQ was not in fact gone but were through the back having tea and scones merrily watching drama unfold they were waiting for naughtiness and then we'd be told with one fell swoop they planned to take down all those who were naughty and send them out of this town So EWers take heed of this tale behave or you may find your head stuck in a pail.

It depends what sort of holiday they are after but personally Atlantis would be at the bottom of my list! I just find it too busy/brash. There are soooo many other lovely hotels in Dubai, nice views, relaxing etc. They can always do a rowdier brunch but stay somewhere peaceful and relaxing. Or are they after a lively holiday? For nice meals somewhere at Souk Al Bahar would be good for atmosphere/evening.

Just googling VK, he looks SOO different. Wow. Can't WAIT for this, love Tom Cruise (despite couch jumping incident!!) and think this will be brilliant. He was so cool hanging off Burj Khalifa. In Lolacat's defence, she has been around for many[strike'> (many, many, many) [/strike'> years and she is really what would be described as a 'salt of the earth' kind of person. She says it how it is, doesn't mince her words, and you know where you are with her. This is not always appreciated in text form and her posts can ocassionally be perceived as quite abrasive, however underneath it all she is a caring poster who cares about the wellbeing of her fellow EWers. She is really quite a good egg. :angel:

I have recently discovered the 7 minute intense workouts. When I say discovered I mean watching them on youtube and not actually doing them :lol: but they seem like the way forward. everyone has 7 minutes! Although time is an issue, it's laziness that's the main factor for me, I just can't be [i'>bothered[/i'> at the start of the day OR the end of the day.

Like anything, these things only become a problem when something goes wrong! It just didn't sound right, the across the road situation, but if you are comfortable that it's not malicious then it's not that dramatic. But next time you are approached by a gardener, yes you should ask him to send the boss of the company round instead (it will cost you the same per month). The boss will sign you up to a proper arrangement. At the moment you really know nothing about this person, who is sponsoring company is, whether or not he is illegal/on the run etc. And in case he IS illegal etc and you are caught hiring him, you'd be subject to fines etc. Sorry for the side track - he just sounded a bit scary! :) PS your flowers def need watering more than once a week in summer!!!
