I recently went to dragon mall and I was surprised to see all of the garden furniture prices greatly inflated. Quality is good but the prices are sky high now.

Dr Chantal Kengo is amazing with children. She was recommended to me on here recently. She was very sweet and my baby warmed up to her very quickly.

I haven't heard of any teen parenting classes, mostly just breastfeeding groups. The best thing would be to find a friend with slightly older children, nothing beats the experience of other parents who have tried and tested different method a of dealing with teen issues today.

Doesn't the whole team usually just buy the same ready made swim costume? Or are you referring to the black training costume that most synchronised swimmers wear while practicing? Possibly from speedo?

Shopping this season isn't easy, I bought several tops, same design just different colours, from american eagle only to reach home and discover they have a quality control problem. Some tshirts were shorter than others, and some were wider. Similar problem with h&m shirts, as one colour was too tight and the other colour was a perfect fit.

Having a phone conversation while in the loo isn't right. I would die if someone heard a plop or flush on any of my phone calls. Its just plain rude. That being said there is a lad I work with who was saying that he carries his phone around with him everywhere, even in the loo, as he's scared to miss his wife's phone calls.

Why can't your pets travel as cargo on the same plane with you. It's so much easier to check them in as luggage than to send them before or after and worry who will take care of them in the meantime.

If they have done a desert safari, why don't you take them to al hadeera in bab al shams. The food is good and there is a show. Most of the desert safaris are the same. I wouldn't expect amazing food at any of them.

I haven't tried them. In fact I didn't know they offered that service. Usually I order books from kinokuniya and have them delivered to the house.

I'd say go for it. It's a new adventure. If you were thinking to continue working from home in dubai, keep in touch with all the contacts you have and see if they have any branches in dubai and any job openings. Otherwise I'd look at banks or insurance companies. I have a similar style of job (not financial calculation related) but in the sense that it doesn't matter where I am I can sit and proof read documents and highlight areas that need attention. I'm supposed to be in the office, however most of the time I work from home and just go to the office to attend meetings and collect documents. It's more of a private arrangement with my employer.

Even with a dubai account you will have trouble cashing a foreign cheque. I was double charged by BT on my final bill and they sent the refunded amount, around £360, as a cheque to my dubai po box. Initially HSBC refused to deposit the cheque into my account as the name was not spelled identical to my passport (only initials and last name). So I had BT issue me another cheque with my full name printed. When I went to deposit it, it turns out that they don't accept foreign cheques at all. The cheque was issued by barclays bank and their branch here wouldn't cash it either. In the end I cashed it months later when I travelled back for a holiday.

Out of curiosity, what exactly worries you about it? I assume you would let your kids either ride a bus or have a driver who takes them to school -- what exactly is missing in this scenario that makes you uncomfortable? (My husband is beginning work as a manager at Careem so consider this market research :D ) I see it as a private limo - cars and drivers are licensed, documented, registered, and the car is tracked in real time so you know it's on course. For me, I see that as being safer than hiring a driver myself. It would be nice to have a service where they message the parent to let them know the child has been dropped off safely and on time, and another message that the child has been picked up and is on the way home. Possibly if you are advertising school runs, the drivers should be screened, as some don't have patience around children and need guidance on how to handle loud naughty children in the car.

I never travelled alone on any kind of public transport until I was 15 and even then it was only to get to and from my summer job. I would also hesitate before I sent a young child alone to school, unless if it was the same driver each day and I had the drivers mobile number.

I'd think if you were going on holiday too. It would be a bit of a holiday for her as well, housework would be very light when you are all away. It's like a mini holiday for her. I book the maids holidays when it suits me and when the ticket prices are not sky high. (Unless if there is a special reason not to holiday at that time, such as waiting for her child's wedding). I usually don't book my maids holiday when I travel as I need someone to feed my cats, but had I not had cats it would have been the ideal time to book her ticket.

I went to a ladies wedding in Shangri-la. The hall was upstairs (sorry I can't remember what floor) Small-ish hall. There were about 150 guests. But enough room for a huge dance floor. Buffet was good. It's a bit of a quiet venue. No other weddings going on. Most of the decor/tables/flowers/kosha etc was done by an external wedding planner. The hall looked really good that night.

I saw wooden abc blocks in toys r us in festival city. In the baby toy section downstairs. Probably would be cheaper in the US. 10$ for 100 is a good bargain. I didn't notice the price here but I'm sure they would be more expensive.

In the winter I also encourage them to wear a cardigan in the early mornings and undershirt as it can get quite cold. I have also designed few uniforms in a warmer fabric for very cold days.

My housemaids wear uniforms while working. Not the ugly ready made ones. I have special uniforms I designed tailored in fashionable colours, durable fabric and beautiful designs with lace and they look very elegant. The only input my housemaid gives is if she would like to work in a dress or in trousers. My cook wears dress uniforms with a hair net and my other housemaid chooses to wear trousers. My housemaids love their uniforms so much that they don't want to change and wear their own clothing in the afternoons/evenings after all the housework has been finished. All my house guests compliment the Uniforms and always ask where I purchased them (thinking they are from a very expensive designer uniform shop) They do not wear their uniforms when going out with me. Uniforms are only for housework so they don't dirty their own cloths. I also have designed aprons to make sure the Uniforms don't get damaged with clorox or other cleaning chemicals. Each employer has their own rules so it will depend on each household if there is a uniform or not.

I know families who live in the residential part of al quoz. It is a very local area. Houses have small/medium sized gardens. The inside house area is quite spacious. The location is quite good. Its close to safa and shiekh zayed. There are some naughty boys in the neighbourhood on some streets who run around so best not to drive too fast in the area.

Getting married here would be difficult of you don't have a residence visa. However you could check with the American consulate and the British consulate to see what the fastest way would be and what papers they require from you to get married here without having a residence visa already. It sounds like you started the authentication process but didn't finish it for using the marriage licence internationally. It sounds like it is only authenticated by the Secretary of state in california. After that step you would need to get it authenticated by the department of state in Washington dc. Followed by the uae embassy in Washington dc. Then once the document is in the uae you would need to get the marriage certificate translated into arabic and have the ministry of foreign affairs stamp it. If all the above has been done and they are still refusing to accept the document go speak to someone in charge as there is a problem that needs their attention.

I recommend you avoid der macare clinic. I had a bad experience there. Over priced, they charge the same fee for follow ups and consultations. And the dr was very pushy to give a long course of anti biotics, which only temporarily solved the problem. Dr was not interested in listening to my worries about taking long term medication (like antibiotics were not dangerous like roacutane and I had nothing to worry about). I just wanted a creme for a few unwanted blemishes. I know it's not related to your problem at all. Busy clinics and doctors who don't have a lot of available appointments may be a sign that the doctor is good, as there are not a lot of skilled dermatologists here. Most have gone commercial and more into cosmetic dermatology.

None of these solutions are practical as a long term solution for the whole summer. If you live in sharjah it's a requirement that all buildings install a device to cool the water for the whole building. So if you are in sharjah clearly that device is not working. If you are in dubai surely your neighbours are experiencing the same problem maybe you could talk with some neighbours and all make a complaint about the water temperature to your building management.

As far as I know UAE doesn't have a postal code. Possibly you mean po box number? If you don't have one it may get sent back. As mail doesn't get sent to house addresses (unless its sent by courier with a door to door service) If you have a tracking number keep following it online, and when it arrives in the uae go to karama post office and have them try to find it for you. You might have to make a second trip once the package clears customs. Hopefully you are lucky and it's still here.

If you want to lower that estimate try getting used bricks. And dont cement them in if its a rented property. I'd rather have some sort of hard surface than sand in the garden, too much dust gets in the house as it is.

I have no idea what is in JVC now. Last time I was there the road was still a dirt path. Any clinics in that area are likely to be new. Dr Omaima is a really good american pediatrician in motor city medicentres. http://www.medicentres.ae/doctors/baby-child-health-paediatrics.html There are also a lot of good paediatricians in jumeirah beach Road and Al wasl Road.

Dr Marc sinclair was refered to me by my peadiatrican. I visited him last year and I believe that he is the best. I went to a couple other pediatric orthopedic doctors too, diagnosis was all the same but the other doctors didn't know how to treat the problem as the baby was premature.
