Tattie Bogle is right. You will need the most recent prescription notarized and attested by the UAE embassy in your country before your dad travels. I jjust saw one article which said "If treatment was undertaken outside UAE, one must carry both a doctor’s prescription as well as detailed medical report, both of which should be suitably attested." Perhaps you can give the UAE embassy in your country a call before you travel just to make sure. Fentanyl is a narcotic drug. Be sure to bring a narcotic rx along with all other documents. Don't forget to ask how many month's worth of supply your dad can bring. Check out the UAE's MOH website: http://www.moh.gov.ae/en/Pages/default.aspx. Good luck!

I also tried looking for Peppa *** stuff for my LO's 3rd birthday earlier this year, but I couldn't find any. The only thing I could find that's Peppa ***-related are story books and a toy puppet at Kinokuniya in Dubai Mall. If it's balloons and cakes, I'm sure you can find places online (and even freelancers) who do customized decorations. Best of luck!

There's one in Souq.com. http://uae.souq.com/ae-en/black-cohosh-90-caps-now-foods-nwf408-by-gulfsupplements-3776711/i/ You can also try the GNC shops. I think there's GNC in Burjuman and Mirdiff CC.

Can anyone recommend a great and not over the top expensive family photographer in Dubai? Try Eduard Daling. He's done so many wedding and family shoots. I hear he does not charge so much coz he's a freelancer. Just Google him, he has a Facebook page. Good luck! :)

There's an Asian (mostly Korean and Japanese) grocery close to our building in Al Barsha 1. It's called 1004 Mart. You can give them a call at +97143234536. :) edited by CrisPC on 07/09/2014

It's my son's (my only child) first day at the nursery too. We let him take the school bus while my mom and I went to the nursery for his first day. The teachers were all okay and they understood that for a first time mom, I have so many questions in mind. I had to go back to work but when I called my mom in the afternoon to find out what else happened, she said my son was so hungry and had 2 glasses of juice soon as they got home. Looks like he was superexcited he did not bother touching his food. So, I guess I need to tell his teacher that he needs some 'gentle' guidance during mealtimes. With toilet assistance, and no. 2, I guess they'll take care of it. They even said we can leave a whole bag of nappy at the nursery if we like.

I was prescribed Probiotics once, but that's after a course an antibiotics. My doctor prescribed Nature's Bounty Probiotic Acidophilus. I was told to take 1 a day in the morning. And yes, the bottle has to be refrigerated once you open it. I bought it from the American Hospital. edited by CrisPC on 07/09/2014

That's right. We've been to Bu Qtair a couple of times. I believe its open daily til midnight and the personally, I think the price is affordable. The (really) big fish, that' generally good for two people was only for AED65 and the small sherry life ones (but bigger) are around AED15. I discovered the place only a few months back so HorizonMum2 may be right about the price increase. try to come early before dinner time, at 7pm, it's packed. :) This might help: https://plus.google.com/102038522585535301444/about?gl=ae&hl=en edited by CrisPC on 20/11/2013

I'm experiencing terrible hairfall. Could this be because of the changing climate. Is anyone else out there having the same problem? Im so worried. I saw at the Daily Mail they said "In a study published in the journal Dermatology, the scientists followed more than 800 healthy women over six years and found that they lost the most hair in the autumn months." Still, I would suggest you see a dermatologist, just to be sure.

I used to have a nanny for my son and I know that giving her money is a little thing really made her happy. I used to give her vouchers (thinking she can use it to shop for herself), but she ended up selling it to get cash.

Hi all. I need a dentist who does does routine check-ups/cleanings without a drill. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks! Hey, you should definitely see the two lovely dental hygienists Beverley and Dulene at Dr Michael's Dental Clinic. They're really the best when it comes to teeth cleaning and whitening.

Me too I am interested in one. Any recommendations please? I would recommend Dr. Mahshid Mirheli at Dr Michael's new Children's Clinic. My two year old son loves her! She's done all his firs check ups and I hear she's also well trained to deal with anxious patients. You can ask for her at 043397700.

Have an appointment for this week and now worrying about the pain. Anyone had it and can advise their experience, pain during/pain after, was it worth it? Should I take painkillers beforehand? I can take pain quite well but some people putting fear of death in me, help ! Its best to tell your dentist about it right away. Maybe he's got something to numb the stinging pain after the whitening.

OUCH!!! I am in agony with wisdom teeth and need them removed ASAP. I have only been to a dentist here to get a quick filling. ( I usually do my check-ups when I go home) Help appreciated :) I have seen Dr. Yasmin, an endodontist from Dr Michael's Dental Clinic and she was very good! I would recommend that you see her. She's very thorough with the way she does root canals. I've had a few bad experience with a dentist who sealed up my teeth only to find out there are still something left inside my cavity (or whatever hat's called).

Yes, Dr Nina Regebogen is now on board Dr. Michael's. We knew about her when she was still working at The City Hospital. She's a wonderful anesthesiologist. She was the one who handled my pain cocktail when I delivered. My friend's 8 yr old daughter has seen her for some dental procedures. No complains. :)

Hi does anybody know of a good dentist who is able to do root canals and crowns? Any idea of prices,.... oh, and is it painful?? TIA My husband has seen Dr. Yasmin from Dr. Michael's. She's an endodontist who's done a terrific job on his teeth (2 root canals). :) He didn't actually say the word 'painful'. I remember him saying it was not unbearable. Coming from someone who hates going to the dentist, that's actually positive! I would also recommend Dr. Alex Tosev for crowns. He's done it for me.

The dentist refuses to redo it and if we do intend to use the same clinic then we have to pay again!! Thats a lot of money down the drain. Aren't doctors responsible for their work? That's horrible. Were you able to sort this out yet?

This leaves me with no time to attend to my personal needs (read visit to the salon!). I can't seem to get myself to take an hour out for some 'me' time.... the guilt of having to spent so much time away from him over the week just plays on my mind all the time. I can totally understand how you feel. I gave birth to my first son last year and I was so close to being really depressed because in between my work (I was working in a hospital bat the time), the chores and my baby - I never had time for myself. In my experience I learned that first, it's okay to ask for help and second, that its OK to take a break. I would sometimes ask my husband to look after our son for a mo while I go and run to the nearest salon. I would also ask my sister if she can take him for a while as my husband and I go on dates. Of course, I couldn't help but feel guilty but in the end, I felt like I was doing better mothering when I feel (almost) pretty and relaxed. :)

I used to get those OTC teeth bleach till I got some allergies and hypersensitivity issues. Now I just let the pros do it for me. I would personally recommend Beverley and Dulene over at Dr. MIchael's in Umm Suqeim. I love how they're very thorough with teeth whitening and how both of them would really explain how to keep your teeth looking whiter and younger. edited by CrisPC on 24/02/2013

Have just called Dr Michaels and have been quoted AED 1010 to get my 8 year old daughter's teeth cleaned. Can anyone recommend a good childrens dentist please which is more reasonably priced? TIA Hi. That can't be right. We've had professional cleanings before and I believe that's the combined cost of the check-up, cleaning and the x-rays.

My son is in Uni in the UK and has joined Officer training in his spare time to fill weekends as he gets home sick. He has entered a photo competition as he wants to join the Army as a lawyer. The photo is of him marching in the woods. Could you please spare a minute and vote for his photo (not like) As an expat with kids going to uni you worry how they will cope, he could have either gone off the rails and had massive wild nights out and wasted his grant but he has made us very proud. Please take a minute to vote. https://apps.facebook.com/birmingham-comp/ Thank you in advance for your kindness. I'm on it. :)

I have been going to Dr Chris Johansson between 2009-2010. I went back to New York for a year and now I'm back. I heard that he is now with Dr Michael's Dental Clinic in Al Wasl road. I went to the clinic and I have to tell you, I was really impressed with the whole set up. On the expensive side, but definitely worth it.04 3949433 is their number. Yes, Dr. Chris Johansson is now on board Dr. Michael's Dental Clinic in Umm Suqeim. He used to work for another clinic, but we met him at Dr. Michael's a few days back when my husband had his braces adjusted (by Dr. Rasha).

Even though on the expensive side, I feel that Dr Michael's Dental Clinic has the best dentists. Coming from the person who has the worst dental problems and having gone to almost all the dentists in Dubai; i feel that Dr Michael's Dental Clinic is where I'd put my money on. I agree. My husband and I have been with Dr. Michael's for years. They've done my crowns, my husband's braces (he's 41) and we've been recommending them to all our friends. Some would find their fees high but we just think about the quality of their work and professional credentials of these dentists.

First post so hope I do this correctly :-) My 13 year old daughter is diagnosed medically with a very severe phobia with needles and now has to have dental treatment that will require numbing. Hypnotherapy did not work whatsoever to overcome this fear. Does anyone know of a good dentist that offers sedation (not via needles) please? Many thanks! Hey, jacquihh. I know Dr. Michael's Dental Clinic offers sedation dentistry. My sister has been taking my 15 year old niece there and they look pretty with their service. Give 'em a ring at 04 3495900 (Jumeirah) 04 3949433 (Umm Suqeim) and tell them your daughter's needs. :)

If it would help you then why not? My husband is 41, and he just got his braces four months back. He's got wide gaps in his lower teeth (they were quite obvious) and his dentist at Dr. Michael's Dental Clinic assured him that most orthodontic cases can be adjusted as just as easy for adults as it is for kids. It only took him like a week to adjust with the metal-fashion and all, but our friends tell him all the time that his teeth look better now!

Have you tried the American Hospital Dubai? Their outpatient pharmacy used to carry the Avene product line. Of course it would be wise to call them up first. :)
