I always hire maids through agencies, when they enter we have 2 months grace period to stamp the residency on the passport, we use the grace period before stamping the residency and paying the fee, so when the maid completes a year of service she still have 7-8 weeks on her contract and her residency, she travels for a month, and we still have 3-4 weeks when she comes back to renew her contract. The contract date & residency start from the date of stamping her residency on passport not from the date of entry. Can you please share which agencies you have used'?

Hello ladies Can anyone suggest activities/classes that I can take my 7month son to in Dubai? When in the US I used to take my other child to gymboree where they sang songs with the kids and did other simple activities. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you all for you comments, I think there is some misunderstanding. I have no intentions of imprisionning her. Not an environment I like to work in, quite frankly. I think she realizes how much I need her (I am a single mother here) and she is taking advantange of that. She is not treated unfairly - infact treated as a family member. I even offered to pay for her ticket to the Canada as a birthday gift. Since she really wanted to go there to see some of her family. So I think that is why I am upset that she wants to leave.....you give so much but it all comes down to money.

Thanks all for your comments. It does feel a little daunting putting my DD in "big" school at age 3. Being fully potty trained is a challenge at times!!....but we'll keep that as another discussion thread :)
