Zabeel is a good idea! We spend at least 1 day a week at MM...oh the pain! Oh I know luckily mine are both at school now so don't need to go there as much! Another great place is children's city in Oud Metha - cheap in and the kids can press and play with a whole load of things - there is a cafe there (not the best but does ice creams etc) pack a picnic and go to the park after!

I have said I will take them out to the park after 4 but that is 5 hours away :( They are both at home and driving me insane becasue they are so bored Something completely different and sadly not free - mini monsters on SZR is a good soft play place and does a special offer (I think they are still doing it) one morning a week 50 Aed for 2 kids?

It is where the old Meydan racetrack used to be so get on Al Hadique street (road 69) headed towards Nad al Sheba and at the first roundabout turn left - it is signposted there. There is a 4, 6 and 8k track too and a running track! Great fun my kids love it!

Ha ha, mine like going to hallmark and zooming round on those little go cart things! It is hard when we all just want to chuck the kids outside for a play - oh the simple things! There is also the aerodrome for inside cycling but not sure if it is just for the more serious cyclist?

It isn't indoors but up at Nad al Sheba there is a bike track with a great kids track, with speed bumps, crossroads and roundabout! Maybe first thing in the morning is a good time to go now?

Does anyone have a number of someone that will deliver gas cylinders to Safa 2 - or where do we go to get one? Just about to move in to the house and need one for the new cooker!

Just a tip about Stargate - we went there last week and it is closed!!!! Well you can get in and do some of the video games and do adult go-karting (not sure my 2 girls would have been happy watching their mad mother bombing about in a go cart without them!) but there is not a sinner in there and the staff don't know when (or if) it is going to be fully open again - so don't bother!

Brilliant - thanks so much for this - we have done the childrens city and that is great value for money! I think what I was really looking for is somewhere she can interact with kids her own age (her sister is at school and she misses her and quite frankly I am probably boring now!) so the Mini monsters and Lamcy sound great! Off we go!

We arrived here 4 weeks ago so know what you are going through! The one thing that is expensive here is good suntan lotion and also (if you use) you can't get P20 which is great for the kids. Also kids shampoo that doesn't cost £5+ a bottle!!! We are bringing our bed but have just ordered beds for the kids and a spare bed - place called homecentre sort of a cross between ikea and habitat - all got sales on at present and is very cheap! Did stock up on some summer clothes before coming - it does gall you a little when a top in H&M in the uk probably would cost £15 and costs £30-£40 here! Good luck!
