Bo problem Busybee, Dr. Mohd & DGFC was the first clinic we went to so we were very lucky. We had decided that we would meet with Dr. Mohd first, see how we felt about him after the meeting and decide then if we wanted to meet with other Drs but we had such a nice meeting with him first time round that we decided just to go ahead with him. He is also very good at getting back to you if you have any enquiries which really put my mind at rest. I have heard that there are other clinics that are here too that are very good but we just decided to go with DGFC. Wishing you all the very best for your 1st appointment and let us know how it goes!

Hi Busybee, I have had treatment with Dr. Mohd and got my BFP last week! I found him to be excellent - informative, patient, understanding etc. Some ladies on here havent found him very attentive but I found him to be frank and honest. I went through times during the treatment where I had no idea what to do and depended 100% on his advice and I am so so glad we took all of his advice to the letter. If I hadnt trusted him completely, I wouldnt have taken his advice so literally. For my 1st appointment, I just took all test results that I had with me to give them a good idea of our situation. He asked me lots and lots of questions about any treatments we had had previously and he may ask you to do further tests in the days or weeks to come. Please dont worry, its more of a chat than anything else but I just found him open, honest and direct which is exactly what I needed after all the time we had been trying before and not being sure of what was happening. Feel free to ask lots of questions, ask him what line of treatment he recommends and why - its important that you understand everything and take notes if you want - I did and I was glad I did after as a lot of medications or terms may be used that you are unfamiliar with. The nurses are lovely too so dont worry - it'll be fine! Let us know how you go and good luck! edited by Dallydoo on 09/04/2012

Good morning ladies, First of all TheDangerousBlonde, I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and thank you for posting. Thanks so much to everyone for your replies. I really dont know what to do. I think I will get a 2nd medical opinion and decide from there. But its just nice to get some advice from someone who has already been there.

OK so here is my question, Have been TTC for a number of years now and have gone through IVF at DGFC. Miraculously, I got my BFP last week. I cant believe it - I am just over the moon but being a little wary so far. I have a holiday booked in May to fly to Europe for a family wedding so it would be a flight in the region of 7 - 8 hours. At that stage, I would be around 9 weeks gone. I have spoken with my Doctor about flying in the 1st trimester and he has assured me that there is absolutely no risk whatsoever with the planes and technology that we have today. I have been on blood thinning medication for the past 3 weeks just as a precaution and the Doctor has said that I will continue to take this into my pregnancy. He has said that as long as I take my medication before flying, drink lots of water and get up and walk about frequently throughout the flight that there is absolutely no risk whatsoever. I have read up on this on the internet and while the general consensus is that flying in the 1st trimester is not at all risky, some say that it can accelerate symptoms such as nausea, sickness etc, but is not risky. I have however read the odd website where they have said that it may be linked to miscarriage.... although no proof has been found... Im not so sure what to do. If I thought that there was any risk whatsoever, I would just cancel the trip and make excuses as to why we cant go home. However, my doctor and several others have said that there is no risk at all. Does anyone have any experience in this or have any advice? TIA

Hi Confusion, Awww Im so sorry to hear that . You must have had an awful weekend going through all of that. And dont worry about breaking down at the hospital. Im sure they have had to deal with much, much worse dealing with hormone fuelled women on a daily basis! :) But I suppose, looking on the positive side, at least it happened naturally and you dont need any medical assistance to complete the miscarriage. Im so so sorry for you but again, being positive, at least it happened 1st time round! That really is good news. You hear of some people having to try time after time after time but now you know that it works for you so there is definitely the motivation there for you to try again. I will keep absoluely everything crossed for you for your next cycle. When do you think you will start again? I hope the next couple of weeks wont be too tough on you. Try to think more on the positive side if at all possible as it really does help with the motivation side of things. Alls good with me. Im stimming at the moment and will hopefully have EC soon but this should be confirmed by the end of this week. Im trying to be as positive as possible. Its hard to think about anything else at the moment and Im nowhere near the 2ww yet. God knows what I'll be like by then :) Anyway, sending lots of cyber hugs your way. Keep us up to date x

Oh WOW Confusion you deserve the bottle!!! Like you said, it happened the 1st time so it will happen again. I know this thought may not help you through this round but just keep that thought in the back of your mind. Life can be so cruel sometimes but just think how much you will appreciate your little bundle when it finally does arrive!!! Have a very relaxing weekend and take good care of yourself xxx

Confusion, I saw your message on the other thread and wanted to say I am so so sorry. Its so unfair to be given false hope like that and then for it all to be taken away. I know how you are feeling. Just take some time out and be kind to yourselves before making any decisions. It is a tough road to travel but we will get there eventually. Im sure of it! Thinking of you xx

Hi all, Confusion, any news? So sorry to all the ladies who had bfn's this month :( I hope you are being kind to yourselves before deciding on next steps? Im actually gearing up to start my first round of ivf this month. Waiting on AF to arrive in the next couple of days so that I can have my scan and get started on the stimulation drugs. If anyone else is in the same boat, it would be great to have a cycle buddy! Let me know!

Thats why I said that an Agent will meet with a candidate when a suitable role comes in. I mean, of course an Agent has a better chance of getting the right profile by actually speaking with the candidate, if not face to face then on the telephone. They work on a commission basis too so it's also in their interest. I do know that some agencies are very unprofessional in their way of doing things but I think its a little unfair to tar them all with the one brush. Also, on another note, logically speaking, what agency is going to have enough manpower to meet with every single candidate who applies for a job. According to one friend, they receive hundreds of applications per role, per day. Meeting everyone just isnt realistic...

Bright80, I understand your frustration - its a tough market for everyone out there at the moment. However, it really bugs me when I hear people say that recruitment agencies are "useless". I dont work in recruitment but I know a lot of people that do. At the end of the day, recruitment agencies here are misunderstood, which is why they are criticised so much. Agencies work for clients, not for candidates. Yes if you are a good candidate, its always good as an Agent to meet with them but at the end of the day, if a recruitment agent does not have a vacancy that suits your profile, apart from sending your CV to a company on spec hoping that there may be a suitable vacancy in the pipeline, there is very little they can do. Candidates do not pay Recruitment Agents, clients do and that's what it boils down to. You need to be proactive, contacting companies, following up, etc. As I said, it is a tough market out there and I do feel for you. We have all been in the job hunting scenario at one time or another.....

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii DC, Thanks so much for coming back to me and yes, you are the expert :) . I literally was very conscious of not moving around and was tired so went back to sleep but there was a huge difference in the 2 temps with just 1.5 hours difference...and jumped from 36.30 - 36.81..... 1. What cycle day are you on: On day 22, which I know is very early but I ovulated very early this month at days 9-10 according to the CBFM. I ususally dont ovulate til 13-14 (ish) but was early this month. 2. How long is your luteal phase? Generally between 12 / 13 / 14 days 3. What's your normal temperature in your follicular phase and your luteal phase? Follicular never generally goes above 36.35 and in Lutheal generally from 36.60 - 36.80 4. Did you confirm ovulation and if so, on what day? Ov confirmed by CBFM at days 9 - 10 5. What was your temp yesterday when you took it at normal time? My temp the last 3 days has been between 36.70 - 36.75 which is the highest its ever reached during lutheal phase before the dip towards the end. I know Im clutching at straws here but its never been so high so late in my lutheal phase but would never dip so low so quickly. It generally drops to about 36.45 (ish) before going really low just before my period arrives.... Now looking at my cycle I know Im only on cd22 but Im 12DPO... Anyway, any thoughts? Tnx sooooo much!

My niece is 15. Its just a thing with different image plates that you can stamp onto your nails with nail polish. I think she'll love it! :)

Thanks so much ha2011! Its nice to get a couple of different perspectives on this to see how different people found it. Im a little sceptical but trying to be positive! My cycles vary between 24-28 days with ovulation between day 10 - 14. Its not easy when you are so eager for it to happen!!!

On another note, is there anything I can do in preparation the month coming up to IVF or is it just all about healthy eating?

Thank you all, This really is very helpful. Its a little scary not knowing whats in store so its so helpful to have some insights from people in the know and who have been through this already. I had heard that the hormones can play havoc with you but wasnt sure. thanks again and if anyone has anything else to add, gratefully appreciated!

I have been taking progesterone for the past 3 months and have never noticed any side effects. I tend to try to take these things just before going to bed (to avoid nausea) and / or just after eating rather than on an empty stomach. Think it helps.... Google it anyway - you'll find lots of info on there!

My friend has had experience with Rashid and honestly she thinks that it is one of the better hospitals in Dubai so I would not worry about the level of care there. Not sure if anyone else has the same opinion but I have heard many people give the same opinion, especially for emergencies!
