I have noticed that no matter WHAT you post you get someone's thumb-down, possibly every single thread I've seen. Who could that be? Maybe Izzy has thumbshausen disease and she is doing it to herself :D

Is all this debate about whether or not fun should be allowed on the board making anyone else think of Footloose? Now I've got Kevin Bacon on my mind and a severe case of Thursday tarantism.

Why a thumbs down for saying I cant wait to see my Niece????? I find it bizarre that someone would click on what is obviously a chatty thread to thumbs people down to show that they don't like them and/or chatty threads. It smacks of double standards. Anonymous pointless negativity is of far more detriment to the board than friendly banter. Enjoy the cuddles sarahlou!

Oh gosh puck, have you seen the NZ news today?! Clear blue skies are not a'happening right now! I hope the weather clears before you arrive. You shouldn't feel guilty about your husband being so busy at work then having to come home exhausted and cook. Lots of women and plenty of men do it every day :) Beans on toast with a poached egg on top takes 5 minutes, he'll be fine. Enjoy your trip and the lovely green green hills and fresh air of NZ and Oz.

I've been away a few times leaving my husband here and to be honest it's never crossed my mind to wonder how my husband will cope. He probably falls in to the 'un-domesticated' group and he may not do things as I would do them or eat what I would cook but what does it matter? It's generalising but I think a lot of men will avoid doing domestic things if they can but when push comes to shove they are perfectly capable of looking after themselves, and a house too. Even if they would rather that we don't find that out ;) Out of interest OP, did your husband move in with you straight after living with his parents or has he had to look after himself before?

I guess you can't please everyone. I rarely came here when practically no discussion was allowed but of course there will also be people who stay away if they find it too chatty.

Guilty! Absolutely some threads are inane chatter but they are easy to avoid. If someone is asking for information or help they normally get that. I sometimes indulge in pointless chat but I also give information or advice when it is asked for - as do the other ladies who also chat. If the board was restricted to purely information only, no digressions or friendly asides allowed it would very very slow on here.

Good Lord, I was still playing with dolls at 12 Her own Mum was 15 then? apple doesn't fall far from the tree Will the Father be prosecuted for statuatory rape? edited by sarahlou123 on 16/04/2014 I don't know the law in the UK but in NZ you only get prosecuted for statutory rape if one of you is over the age of consent. As the father is 13 in this case neither would be prosecuted. Poor children, the parents and the baby.

Who started this thread? We will never know as Daza forgot the most important step in responding to an abstract thread.. quote it School girl error. New poster, I won't name her. Drinking beer, eating Doritos and feeling guilty after a fight with her husband. She felt like milling someone. I had to urban dictionary that.

As long as you aren't driving then I don't see what is wrong with that. If you are feeling guilty it sounds like you were in the wrong. Finish your beverage then apologise, no point dragging these things out. edited by Daza on 16/04/2014

I wasn't allowed to swear as a child but I swear in front of my parents now. Generally conversationally not expletively and I draw the line at the c bomb. My children aren't allowed to swear but we don't say they are bad words, just that like beer, some things are only for adults. As for being a yes parent, nope. I say no. All. The. Time.

I'm currently having one of [url=http://deliciouslyella.com/spirulina-smoothie/'>these[/url'> smoothies during the day which I find great. It fills me up for ages, makes me feel good and tastes surprisingly nice. I only use half a cup of blueberries and no dates. It makes quite a lot and I don't drink it all in one go but have it two or three times throughout the day. So much better for you than horrible processed shakes.

There are two beds in the Al Reems and Alma 2 is opening soon will have two beds. Alma is a great location, walking distance to the school, shopping centre and golf club. Some of the Al Reems are close to SMBZ road which is loud and I personally would avoid those on the boundary.

Are you sure they mean 80 dirhams each per week or is that the cost which they then split? Because if it is each then unless her church is in Abu Dhabi then someone is trying to rip her off. I don't know the cost but I know our maid uses private cabs to get around. They are cheaper than RTA taxis, I'm sure one of the local maids could give her the details. As they are illegal I doubt anyone will post the details on here :)

This has probably been asked before but if the thumbs weren't anonymous would it change how you use them? I don't use use thumbs down because it doesn't feel very nice from behind a cloak of anonyminity. If it weren't anonymous I'd happily thumb down.

I find that sometimes I need to remind myself that whilst my children are the centre of my universe, they are not the centre of anyone else's and it's understandable if other people don't put their needs first. In saying that, it actually sounds like your SIL is being very selfless and doing all she can to keep everyone happy. Meeting her fathers new girlfriend for the first time could be hard for her, especially on the anniversary of her mother's death yet she has agreed to it - probably to keep her father happy. She possibly desperately would like her husband with her for moral support but she has agreed for him to attend your son's party - probably to keep you happy and so her son can enjoy the party. Your SIL sounds like she is behaving very kindly, I do hope everyone is being kind to her in return.

I've got two bubble bums which I've had for occasional use for the past couple of years and think they are fantastic. Never had either if them deflate and never had them slip either. If you are attaching the lap part of the belt to the clips and pulling it secure then slipping shouldn't be a problem. I deflate them for travel and my children carry them in their own carry on bags, perfect. edited by Daza on 12/04/2014

Honestly mssassy, I think you are over thinking things. You said you've only been in the job a few weeks, you should be concentrating on learning the ropes, not getting embroiled in petty office politics. And you certainly shouldn't be looking up another employees personal information unless you had reason to do so for a work matter. If it's still an issue a few months down the track then reassess but for now, stop worrying about it and just rise above it.
