Maybe you're too young but a few of us will remember Frankie Goes to Hollywood, 'Relax', or 'White Lines' (can't remember who sang that)? 'My Ding a Ling' by Chuck Berry was a bit risque. And what about some of Duran Duran's videos? Oh and just about anything penned by Shaun Ryder. I don;t wish to impose my views on others, but personally Bruno Mars annoys me more than this stuff. Or Tom Jones / Alicia Keys on the basis they have recently played in Israel. Nope, not too young. You're right, it's just that songs lately seem so much more *ahem* in your face about it all.

I don't have a problem with secks. (***). (I said on another thread, on babyfit, a few of our board members got banned for constant use of the word vagina - on a pregnancy board. I mean, the vagina is a pretty vital part in conception and birth). Oh my goodness! That is so sad that vagina is considered a 'bad' word! It's the correct term for a body part which as the say, is pretty vital and relevant to having babies! Madness, utter madness. Couldn't agree more re Eminem, I love him :) <em>edited by Daza on 23/09/2013</em>

It seems quite a recent thing that songs with dodgy lyrics are so mainstream. There is much much worse out there (Ice T's 99 Problems springs to mind) but in the past you'd have to specifically buy songs with such content, they wouldn't just be played on the radio. It works both ways, Rihanna's Rude Boy sexualised men in not a very flattering way.

Why are people coy about using the word "sēx"? It's the correct scientific word to describe a completely normal, everyday physical process that is essential to the survival of the human race (and indeed all creatures). If it's censored on this forum, then it's going to be amusing when people try to post about Middlesēx University, which has recently opened in Dubai and is currently advertising on the radio. Will it pass as part of a word 'Middlesex' rather just as '***'? Website censorship can be funny, I love this story about [url=http://revealingerrors.com/tyson_homosexual'>Tyson Gay[/url'>

Yes,healthy food options are scarce unless you want to eat subway all the time. Been on diet and its always a struggle when going to the mall and everyone is hungry to find a place that has healthy options too. In addition to that, I would like it if grocery stores would stock low calorie cordials. edited by Asti on 22/09/2013 I don't find it hard to find healthy options at the malls. Pretty much everywhere has at least one lebanese/arabic place where you can get good healthy salads or dips - tabbouleh, moutabel, baba ghanoush, hoummous etc. As long as you don't overload on bread it's a good option. There are also quite a few salad places about.

The only nasty bit was a mum who called me every time she was upset with the school admin. After chatting with all the other mums individually, she was the only one who was disgruntled so I informed the school admin and ignored her thereafter. There was also a mum who wanted every mother to purchase an expensive personalized outfit from her friend's business for a class performance. I felt the teacher's dress code guidelines were more practical, and ignored the mum. edited by Apricot on 23/09/2013 It's so bizarre what some parents expect the class rep to do. When I was class rep one mum wasn't happy with her sons progress and wanted me to raise it with the teacher! I suspect the parents with an unreasonable idea of what the class rep should be doing are the ones who never have been and never would be the class rep. They are also the ones who have to get chased each and every time for gift contributions and complain at the drop of a hat. Anyway, rant over. After being class rep for a year I always pay up promptly and agree with whatever the class rep wants, if they are prepared to do it (and I'm not) then I'm not going to complain about anything.

Robin Thicke's response to the criticism is [url=http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/18/robin-thicke-blurred-lines-rapey_n_3461215.html'>here[/url'> I have to say I don't really understand what he is trying to say. Does he understand himself? It's all a bit weird. Thicke by name, thick by nature by the looks of things.

Thanks we had a bit of a chat this morning and I went over a few things, gave some tips. Explained not to take offence as it is good practice to continually want to improve on what you do, I myself do it all the time. Just a thought JPS but you might have more luck getting your maid up to speed if you stop worrying about her taking offense. Your floors are dirty and it's her job to clean them. Pointing out she isn't doing that is not an offensive thing to say at all and you shouldn't feel the need to justify yourself. It's the same in any job, if you aren't doing it right it's your bosses job to pull you up on it. Our mop gets changed about as often as yours so it's not the mop that's at fault :)

Err sorry to say - but yes, we live in the desert and across the road from the beach, it is a windy city - the floors do not stay clean and grit free for very long. Esp with 3 LO's. Well.......I've got 4 little ones and live in a villa in the Ranches which can get pretty sandy. I've never gotten dirty feet walking around the house (except maybe when our maid is on holiday ;) ) so I'd still say she's not cleaning properly. Do you replace your mops regularly? Our maid sweeps then mops all the floors once a day upstairs and twice a day downstairs in the living areas. The floors are spotless, I'd be happy for my children to eat off them (which they sometimes do :) ).

we're in the same boat re moving to Dubai, its just that we have an opportunity to go to Auckland, so we are at a crossroads. I love Dubai so at the moment don't really feel like leaving. But at the same time don't want to loose an opportunity, and then to flip it again, don't want to leave dubai for NZ and regret it. That's a tough one elk. What is it you love about Dubai? Could you do the same things in NZ? I know a couple of families that have gone back to Auckland and ended up coming back here because they couldn't do the things in NZ that they enjoy here. If you have small children and are used to live in help here it can be hard going back if you have no family support and can't enjoy nights out as a couple if that is what you enjoy. I also know a couple of families that have gone to Auckland and love it.

Thanks for your reply Daza. I think you are probably right.... I mustn't let it linger on any longer and although I don't have the time with three kiddies to show her, [b'>it must be done for long term benefit[/b'>! We live in a 'normal for Dubai' 3-bed apartment.... it is definitely not huge. Tx again Exactly right. Short term pain for long term gain ;) It's probably worth letting her know that you have employed her to clean and if she can't do that properly then you'll be unable to continue her employment.

Unless you are Emirati, your future is NOT here. [b'>Living here is a temporary step towards a desire goal only.[/b'> If we could reach our desired goal in our home country, we would be there tomorrow. If you have the opportunity to go home, why wouldn't you go? That sounds so pessimistic mrsb! We aren't planning on being here forever but we moved here because we chose to and it seemed like a nice lifestyle. Money definitely wasn't the main motivator, in fact when we first arrived our income was less and our house was smaller than we had in London. It won't always suit us to be here but at this stage of our lives it's great. Living here is one of our desired goals, not just a step towards it. Great answer from perkynana. I'm from NZ - Auckland is beautiful and has a lot going for it. I have a lot of family and friends living there and they really enjoy it.

By hotel if you mean to stay there for the night then The Address Downtown would have the best views. You'd need to arrive early in the day to avoid the traffic which build early. I think last year the roads around there shut at some point and you had to park somewhere off Al Ain / Oud Metha and bus in. If you mean a restaurant to go to, it would be anything but an 'easy' evening. Traffic is a nightmare and it's packed. Everyone I know has vowed never to go back for NYE. The only time we went for NYE we stayed at a friends in Old Town and avoided the crowds which looked awful. I can't recommend anywhere sorry, we avoid leaving our area on NYE as the traffic so bad everywhere.

Hi JPS1 If you want her to clean to your standards and she is not then yes, you really have to get down on your hands and knees and show her exactly how you want her to clean and how clean it should be. If she has 3 hours a day uninterrupted then that should be ample to clean an apartment (unless it's huge). You really shouldn't be needing to leave the house to give her a chance to clean, she needs to be working around you, not the other way round.

How about a couple of big platters, one savoury, one sweet? If you bought all pre made dips, it would just be opening packets, or you could make your own in advance. Savoury - Cured meats, salmon, cheeses, olives, pickles, crudites, dips eg. hommous (if sesame seeds are ok) guacamole, salsa with tortilla chips, crisps, gluten free crackers and breads etc. You could do a separate platter of non gluten free breads and crackers with dips too. Sweet - chocolates, gluten free biscuits, more chocolates..... edited by Daza on 18/09/2013 ETA - It just occurred to me that avocado and tomato are fruit so guacamole and salsa might not work. edited by Daza on 18/09/2013 <em>edited by Daza on 18/09/2013</em>

Clearly those parents are not aware of the subconscious anxiety this causes long-term. ([b'>Adults who still can't do a number 2 in public loos, restaurants etc[/b'>)... What's wrong with that? It doesn't hold up scientifically because there are too many variables. Bicarb is an akaline so it will react and fizz when mixed with an acid. Whilst hormonal changes can cause changes in the pH level of urine, so can many other things, diet, medications etc. I'd still give it whirl if I was pregnant though :D
