Wow! Such great stories! I do know what the epi's about, just for some reason have been very weary of needles. It may be because of what I had to go through in IVF to get here ;). But I really appreciate your honesty. I am a tried and true believer of not having pain if you can avoid it, so I probably won't go without but at least I'm not so worried about the insertion. :D I am also oh so early on this, I got 6 more months to go! But I will speak to my OB/GYN and Anesthetist here so that I can feel more confident. Thanks sooo much ladies! I don't know what I would do without you all, seeing that I can't talk about these things with my real sisters as I please (they are in the USA and therefore so not on my schedule!). I am happy to have sisters here going through the same things! ;)

Now, my pants just dont fit (11w2d)...aside from the M/S, I want the fun stuff to happen and the M/S to go away!!! I think 9 months is sooooooo oooh sooo long to wait ;) Happy pregnancy to all!

Hey Aylaali, I used a randome service that actually specializes in horses. The website is mersant dot com. But I called him for advice and then he agreed to move my kitty from Dulles. Either way, I recommend KLM or Air France. They have a stop over in Europe with a pet area, where they check on your pet, feed them, give them water, and even take dogs for a short walk. If you go through any service, I suggest they use this airline. As for cost, I would have paid anything to get my baby here, but I think we paid like $2000, which included the cost of the ticket. Cats are cheaper! ;) Good luck!

Note to self: cry on the phone with Etisalat! I was about to scream out Etisalat when I read the post title. Seriously, these people need to get some lessons about how to manage a phone/internet company from some of the good ole folks back home (USA for me). Then they can consider revamping the CS to at least do what they say they are going to do. But OH, they have no problem charging you, sometimes extra if they deem it necessary. CRAZY PEOPLE!!!! :\:

Hey Annan, I am hoping all goes well with you. I was with Dr. F and am a success story so far. I have never been let down by the team there and if he needs to be there, he's there. sorry you had a blip with the first appt. I think I got lucky b/c when i called the first time, they asked me to come in and meet him the next day. Also of note, he works in his AD clinic and travels to USA too, which may be the reason for the wacked out schedule, but it was never a problem for me. Also Dr. Fatin, the other doc there is a wonderful lady. Smart and on point. I dont know how much of the 75% rate is actually true and what factors its based on but as of right now, my rate is 100% for IVF, 0% for IUI. But that could just be me ;) Best of luck and hope all goes well. ***btw-I never like CClinic because they dont seem to have time for their pts., maybe this is a good sign. ***

If you have an outlet outside, start with one of those plug in replellants you can get from any hypermarket. Then once the air has cleared, scour your backyard/area for pools of standing water and get rid of them. Quickly! They breed in water pools, so you must have a source somewhere. Then I would just do a quick spray of mosquito killer in the areas that were previously occupied by standing water. Good luck and wear repellant when you do this... :D

Just a note, we went shopping all over to find good curtains that weren't a killer on the wallet. We found Classic Furniture. Its in Karama. Not really a shady place, nice and they make furniture as well. But the cost of the curtains were not even a third of what we were getting quoted elsewhere. I paid 22 AED a meter for fabulous cutains! check it out. classic furntiture uae dot com. :)

Love these. Absolutely hate these though: 1) Asking me where everything is and when I tell him exactly which room, which drawer, which side of the drawer and under what, he still can't see it. So I STILL have to get up and get it for him. 2) he's neat freak - but never acknowledges when I clean...just a huff nad puff when I sit while he's cleaning! :\: 3) no matter how tired I am....what are you making for dinner? 4) and last one: I ask, what do you want for dinner, he says: it doesnt matter. AAARRRRGGGGGGHHHH!!! :-/ edited by DC_Diva on 16/05/2011

Setting the alarm for about an hour before he plans to get out of bed and hitting the snooze button many times in between! edited by TwoKids on 16/05/2011 This one used to drive me insane. Mine however, would let it ring for a while before hitting snooze because he sleeps so hard he never hears it! :D

Ok, you guys are scaring me. I just had the everlasting manicure done at Nievea and she told me that all I needed was some acetone nail polish remover. She put a dot of something also on my nails prior to adding the gel and I asked her what that was for. She said, so that it comes off easy. Will I have to through a nightmare to get this stuff off?? Is it better just to stick to the normal polish?? jeeezzzzzeeeyy!:\::(

GREAT NEWS BA! You're Preggers lady! Ok I'm really teary-eyed for you, so you can guess everything went very well with Dr. F in my caase. I actually really love that place and everyone in it. Just an FYI - i had 2 failed IUIs and 1 IVF. Positive with the IVF is leading to a nice little human (not a bean anymore!!). Really, just stay relaxed and let the team do all the worrying. Plus what can you do now except let your body go to work. Now you have to look forward to the lovely mornng sickness and extreme fatigue that you find forums about ;) I'm so happy for you, really...Stay strong, stay happy. Toodles! :D

Hey Ladies. 9w2d, and sick of food. but i have to keep eating it. its the only thing that works. I mean I am constantly shoving somehting in my mouth. I am also taking navidoxine for the nausea. which has helped with the appetite too. I have some good times and some bad times, all in the same day. But it makes the nausea a little better. I am an advocate for throwing back water, supposedly it helps. Liters of it per day. Also ice lollies are my staple...those and frosted flakes...very odd that I can stomach the milk. Anyhow, wishing you all lovely mommies to be a Happy Mothers day,:D and take heart that this nightmarish part is supposed to be over soon. I just talk to bean and ask for a nice day. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I dont. ;) oh well. Love and happiness to you!

DC Diva, have you had a scan already. I can't remember when to have the first heartbeat one. I did! I had one at 6w3d, then at 7w3d. Both had a heartbeat! I was amazed it was so early. they were also vaginal Ultrasounds though. I'm supposed to have another sometime this week. I wish they were more often! I sometimes, just wanna see my little pookah more!

Hey Barmy Army, I had my IVF with Dr. Fakikh as well just recently. I will tell you this: any number 5 and above is considered as positive BUT, talk to Madonna...she will help you feel better about your numbers. I tried to check with everyone, look all over the internet for answers, blah blah, and then Rageeda yelled at me. She said, if you have any questions, just ask. Dont google anything. (this was also because my numbers were coming low according to the standards) So check with them. They will give you peace of mind that you need. But overall, relax. Any stress can cause an adverse reaction to your little bean. :) Love, peace and harmony! Send you happy thoughts!

Try Philosophy's range of products. Not uber expensive but better than grocery store brands. Also, they accomodate your skin. You can find them at Sephora Dubai Mall/MOE. I tend to spend hours in there just trying different creams on to see how they feel after a while. They should also be happy to give you samples to take home and try on your face. Happy hunting.

I also had PCOS but wasnt treated for it. Instead, we had an IVF with Dr. Fakhik clinic in Jumeriah. I am still seeing Dr. Fatin who is another OBYGN there. She's awesome but delivers at Medcare (note, I dont know if she has office hours there). I am located in Oud metha. I have American, City and Rashid all in minutes proximity, so thats why the delimma. Anyhow, I have to go see her next week. Would you like me to get a recommendation? I wont ask your docs name, I'll just get two just in case. About the bloat, I know we are still too early but I look at it as a glimpse of what's to come. Check out Destination Materinity. They supposedly have those bella bands that make this transition phase really easy. Last night, I had to go out to dinner and I dont have one yet, so I just took a scrunchi and looped it in my button hole and then around the button. Wore a shirt over top and it looked chic! Try it out. :) Happy shopping!

Hey Enigma! I'm also in my 9th week and I'm not taking Duphaston. Instead I'm on Estrogen tabs, progesterone tabs, and that novidoxine to quell my nausea. I cant tell anymore if I'm bloated or if I am just eating too much, but none of my pants fit anymore. As I read, thats quite common and then it just continues as your little bean moves out of your pelvic region. Anyhow, try this, realize it will only get bigger, eat less veggies that cause gas and relax. That's all I'm doing ;)!! But hey, nice to hear some one is around the same time as me. What's your due date? Mine is Dec. 9th. Wishing you happiness and healthiness!

Mornin. I have no help when it comes to hubby. he just had to see my face and he knew...sucka! But when it comes to fam, I am the only one here, so I am announcing in an email with the subject: "so when is this morning sickness supposed to end???" something like that. I am also africna american, so an old wives tale is that someone in the family will dream of fish when someone is preggers. I would say: "so did anyone dream of fishes recently?". it automatically means I'm preggers! I like the tantrum idea too! :D

My remedy: 1) dose up on Vit C, 1000 Mg every 4 hours until you have to go. It helps you releive cold symptoms 2) eat some really good comfort food (spicy is great if you can bear it) 3) for the pain and runny nose, Panadol cold and flu or if you can find it Clairinase, but note: this lasts for 12 house and may not work and you cant take any nasal decongestants until it clears your system 4) panadol for sore throat and headache if you took Clairinase. 5) go to the party for a bit, but dont drink any alcohol. Negatively reacts with all meds for colds Feel better! :)

Yeah, I would suggest to head south. Jan/feb is just no fun in the north unless your skiing. :( sorry. There is a lot to do in NOLA in case its still an option, and Pensacola FL is only 1 hour away. DC will be fun but only for a short while and it will most likely be cold there too. Just some tidbits. Good luck.

We want a like a traditional but huge bed or a modern, pretty bed that doesnt have a tooo huge or too small head board. Its frustrating. Thanks all. I really appreciate being able to release a little of this excitement. So far, I am nauseated all day long, especially in cars. Its hilarious. Quite tired, I can lounge all day but still have to work (so I can't sleep there). But I am also very chill about everything, which I am loving. I feel sooo blessed and I hope that everything just keeps going as wonderfully as it has. Thanks again ladies! :) :D

Hi Follofdreams, I just had my first and hopefully only ivf done at fakikh clinic in jumeriah. I was fortunate enough to get a BFP on the first try but I will say this...it was not at all frightful. I was explained every step. I was also told to stay off the internet and listen to my doc. I know this is difficult because you want to know everything your body is going thru but everyone is different. so what you may read, may scare the **** out of you or change your expectations. My best advice is to keep yourself occupied, remember your docs know best and keep them on speed dial. call them whenever you feel like. I will check if I have any information that will help you. Other than that, please try to RELAX. As Gray Girl says, we are here and we can answer as much as we can for you but I want to stress how important it is to be comfortable with your doc and ask him/her the questions you have. if you wanna drop a mail, feel free at cheeralal at hotmail dot com. I will be more than happy to see what info i can provide. Remember! RELAX :) :) :)
