Beverly Hills Al rayyan . Think it would be 10- 15 minutes away . Hi note sure if you are still looking. My son was going to Compass Gharffa which is equidistant to Compass MK. We live in Beverly Hills Al Rayyan now and are looking for someone to take over our lease to move closer to ASD. If you haven't moved yet. Would you be interested? DC_Diva,

Hi Lalala, Thanks for the response. May I ask why is it that she cannot come? I Can't seem to get through with anyone at the MOI to ask whether Indians can be sponsored, but I would hate to lose her as she is part of our family. TIA!

I have to say DC-Diva, I love your attitude and your responses to everyone. Keep it up and hopefully we'll see you in the top 100 entrepreneurs one day! Good luck with your venture Couldn't agree more. I think it is a fantastic initiative, I have a number of friends who expressed while at work, so I do think you will have a customer base - particularly here with such short maternity leave coverage. You never know, I am a very, very short time away from giving birth to number 2, so perhaps I might lose my paranoid controlling ways and try it out! Good luck! YAAAAYY! And Good luck and congrats on baby #2. :)

I actually think some people may do this here, but I think it would be really difficult to maintain a constant customer base - people tend to only express for a certain period of time, which, if you are thinking of setting this up as an ongoing business idea, you will have to be constantly driving business to the service to keep new customers joining to replace the 'old' ones (of not a very long shelf life) when they drop off. Personally, I exclusively expressed breastmilk for DS for the first 10 months, but I wasn't working - so didnt have to worry about transport issues. Had I been working however, I still wouldn't have used the service (sorry) - just because I am extremely paraniod about this sort of thing. Breast milk was called 'liquid gold' in our household, and was fiercely guarded, my supply was not great at all, and because I wasn't supplimenting with formula at all, we needed every single drop. I never let our liquid gold out of our sight, and even if you have a process/policy for temperature control measures, I wouldn't want the fluctuation between the storage temperature on transit into my own fridge temperature in case it affected the quality. I would stress if my LO got sick that it was from tainted milk. Given the quality of some of the food we receive from takeaway outlets, I just personally wouldn't trust that a courier would invest as much concern over ensuring the storage standards are met - given they promise they have come straight from the store (when they are late with food delivery) and the food is cold and chewy, and that it clearly isn't the case! I do have to say, that I think you probably will find people that are comfortable with it, I am just not sure you will get the volume of continued interest for it to be a viable business option... Thanks a lot for your response. Yep, I am considering it because it has been accomplished in another country, (note an article in Gulf news about Courier service for working moms in Indonesia). But I understand what you mean about Liquid Gold...I feel the same way. But if I could get it to my munchkin without worrying then I would be so relieved that he had Bmilk instead of formula. we use formula only in emergencies in our house... Anyhow, thanks again! Any more responses are welcomed! :D

I guess there was some pertinent information that I left to assumption rather than explain. Please allow me to elaborate here...Still interested in your comments!! :D And ask more questions!! - Courier using MOH approved containers, guidelines and methods (i.e. cooler and AC car, etc) - Background checks for all couriers - Lag time would be no more than 1 hour from Mom to Baby - Milk would not be frozen but chilled (4 degrees), as freezing/excessive heating can kill off good nutrients in milk AmyAus82 - how can you throw the milk in the day!? I freak out if I spill one drop. Why not save and give baby for next day?

Hi K3...I'm thinking from my own perspective. I am a new mom, with no storage in the freezer because I make "just enough". I think it would be helpful for woking moms like myself, who cant come home mid day to nurse. This is not an option for Full time moms....not by any stretch... Does this change your perspective? What are the easier ways, other than leaving it at home with the caregiver?

Hey Dubai Moms! I have a quick Poll of questions for you. Really just one question. If you had the ability to courier your breastmilk to your baby throughout the day, would you be interested in the concept? That's really all I wanted to ask. If you want to volunteer any additional opinions, please feel free. Hope all of you are well!! :)

I have, but i have to admit, my shopping has been limited only to bottoms. I have bought regular tops just made sure they were a litle stretchy and longer. All bottoms are available at Dest. Mat and I have found that the belly band, the stretchy fabirc one, is my best friend. It helps me wear all of my other clothes (bottoms) that are not maternity. Happy Shopping!!!

Thanks ladies. I took a bath and that really helped. :) I think I'm going to try swimming to soon. Should take the edge off, and also allow me to sleep! I hate my nights, I wake up at the same times every night: 12:30, 4:30, then 6! It sucks!! Royally! But I guess it could be worse. I am also feeling heavy in the belly so I think a support belt may work. I tried to get one at Destination Maternity yesterday and the sales lady said to me, I was too small for it. But my belly is huge in comparison to the rest of my body. I just look little in some clothes. IDK...I'm a bit frustrated. I know I'm only 5 and 1/2 months but I find myself holding [b'>up [/b'>my belly...anyone else?:\:

We waited a year...that was also the recommendation of the doc. But you should be trying at the right times and make sure you are both nice and healthy during this year. As far as the rest of your questions, there are many treatments/procedures (based on your doc's recs.) and as many prices and timeframes to go with them. I suggest you first, check with your regular OBGYN and talk to her/him about your concerns. Also ask about these different types of treatments/procedures, which ones he/she can do and which ones you need to consult a specialist for. You can also do a search on here to see what other folks are saying about Conceive Clinic, but beware, these are others' opinions and your situation may be different. Take some time to get informed by specialists first before you jump ;). Good luck!

I used to suffer with this a lot in the past year. So I got the deo that I used to use in the USA. Its called Degree...It has always been my Go-to deo for really hot weather. It can be found at Safestway in Dubai. Also check the active ingredient content. Anything higher than 16% should work for Dubai...but do note that most are 12-15%. Good luck.

Additionally, Ali at Salon Ink, in Oud Metha. May be a bit out of your way but she is exquisite. I have curly hair that requires a particular type of cute. I also require special styling instructions which she handles perfectly. Also Salon Ink was rated #1 in Time Out Dubai Salons... If you can't get Ali, all of the stylists are wonderful! I see them in action each time I go. Good luck and hope you get what you want. :D

Just a suggestion..I have learned that in Dubai, you get a job mostly on who you know; especially the good jobs. My favorite and most helpful place, (where I have landed all of my jobs) has been thru LinkedIn.com. It sounds like a lot of work at first, creating a profile and setting up connections, but I have to admit, it is one of the places that has truly helped me in forwarding my career. I am in healthcare (administration/management) which is wholeheartedly misunderstood in this country, but I can get my point across thru LinkedIn. In case anyone is having problems, I swear by LinkedIn and I think it really helps. It just takes a littel extra work. ;) Still wishing you luck and hope you find exactly what you are looking for! :D

Hey HollyC, I do wish you all the best. And since your mind is in the right place, all will be EXACTLY the way its supposed to be ;). I had a regular IVF. I was sedated for the egg retrieval and yes it hurt like a bad period for a day or so after. But I have faith in that team. Both of the Anesthesiologists on staff have a lot of experience and are really good at what they do. They use really good drugs too, because I was knocked out quickly and my wake-up was quite pleasant in fact. I just wanted Spaghetti as soon as I got up. :) I am sure that you will do fine with the ZIFT. If Dr.F recommends it, he is telling you the best way and the one that will provide you with the highest chances. Have faith. I did... Take care and if there is anything that I can help you with, let me know. We are all here for each other. :D edited by DC_Diva on 31/07/2011

Hey HollyC, I used Dr. F for IVF after 2 rounds of IUI. Well, today I am 5 months preggers and very healthy. I still go to the clinic to see Dr. Fatin for my Maternity scans/appts, etc. I was truly and still am very pleased with this place. I had gone to three other docs before settling on him and I will tell you that his credentials are very good due to his technique and success rate. Just remember, good science can only go so far, no matter the circumstance. Its a positive mind and a happy mom to be that makes a baby ;) (my belief completely). Wishing you well and feel free to ask anything.

Thanks AnC! That is true. A natural pregnancy is waaaay different than natural labor and delivery. I understand. But I think the major problem is with those that try to push you to do the C-section for the moolah! Those are the ones I am trying to avoid... Thanks for the info!

Thanks TruBlu! Makes me feel tons better. But since like yesterday, I have been ravenous! Eating huge amounts constantly. I want to control it though, so I am eating very lean foods, high in proteins. Everyone is saying that I am small for my date but I saw the doc and she says baby is growing just fine. She actually called him a "big boy"! :D Imagine my happiness! CapeChick: Thanks for bringing this up. I haven't bought a thing yet, partially because I want the first thing I buy to be oh so special. Like a Tiffany spoon or something (although I saw their spoons - ick). Would love to hear about what everyone else is buying.... Anyone having leg cramps?? I am feeling something similar to a Charlie Horse in my calf. Its Horrible!!Any remedy suggestions??

Hey! I met Dr. Grace. I was not pleased, but this is my opinion. I went to TDMMC to "screen" her as my possible new OBGYN. I actually told her that and that I was a first time mom and was very worried about a lot of things. That I wanted to ask her a bunch of questions to see whether she would be right for me. Her persona changed immediately. She became very short, was not very informative and when I asked her about natural birth vs. epidural, her only answer was, we'll see when the time comes. Not too reassuring because I also wanted to be with someone who advocates natural birth too. I was turned off by her completely. She was also very short when she did the US and did not say anything to me, just some info to her nurse while she scanned. I had to ask if everything was ok! :O! Like I said, this is my opinion and I would not tell anyone to go or not to. I personally have had only bad experiences with Indian female docs because for some reason, they always think I am "challenging" them when I ask questions which is of course not the case. Dr. Grace wasn't as welcoming as I would have expected. Also of note, she is supposed to have very strange office hours between IMH and TDMMC. If you can, try to get some recs for Dr. Wael. He is supposed to be wonderful in natural births and also delivers at IMH. Best of luck oof course. I am still searching for my dream doc. :)

Why not one of those catered yachts on the sea or creek? I see rich ppl on tv all the time having great weddings on those and we don't have a shortage. I don't know of any companies but I'm sure if you did a web search you could find one. Also any club you may be a member of, may be willing to host a nice ceremony for you. Just to answer the thread question of the day, it seems like the rates vary by nationality. I am looking for an indian maid who speaks english and I'm hoping for less than 1500. While other folks tell me that maids from burma or South africa will cost me much more...upwards of 2400 a month!

Hey Singingcanary, I wasn't away from my baby girl for that long but it seemed like it. It was only for a few months but she recognized me as soon as I saw her.
