Thanks Laughalot for asking about eating in Ramadan. It didn't even cross my mind. I am now picturing myself running off to the conference room every two hours to scarf down some grub. GREEEEAAATT! Well, at least my office is really tolerant. I think as long as you discuss things opening, it should be fine...right?? (fingers crossed) How's everyone out there? So Meals, What kind of scans did you have to go across the road for? US scans? or soemthign in particular. I'm sure its direct billing, so i guess the folks there were just lost. I cant see why I would have to pay for an additional package and a copay!

Thanks a bunch Pentel! I do have full maternity and my limit is at 10000 for inpatient. so i guess we have to cover the excess then...but thats a different story. I also have direct billing with City...What I am more concerned about its the antenatal. My Plan says: 100% at Network Providers 80% at Non-Network Providers (equals a Co-insurance of 20%) Deductible AED 50 per consultation (not applicable for follow up within 7 days) My addy is cheeralal at hotmail dot com. Try some of the bigger names for insurance. What they will tell you is that materinity may be covered after6 months, which normally refers to the inpatient (i.e.delivery). take a breather. :) check out Daman insurance to see if they can help. If not, maybe RSA or Allico. Best of luck. Also remember to have someone explain what they mean by "with them for 3 years", and what coverage they are talking about. :)

Thanks for the info Lilli34. I have reached 15 weeks and still have that lingering nasty taste in my mouth but I've narrowed down the causes...mostly sugar and wheat based products...hilarious I know. :D I am now just waiting for the big day though. Sooo for all those going thru the drama, there is some light at the end of the tunnel;)...I'm getting there, one day at a time... :)

Its friday, at More Cafe in the new Fashion Gallery at 11. As for the meter, its a bit more than I was expecting but I'm thinking i should just get it and not tell hubby how much i paid ;)! Hey Maariyah, So mad that your doc isn't helping. Is it something like allergies? or is it worse. I just hope you get some relief soon. I think M&S is right though. You should at least make sure of what it is before you self-soothe ;). Take care and good luck.

Thanks so much ladies...but here's some news. So found out that my Insurance does squat for outpatient at AH, only inpatient...:( so they are kinda on hold or out till I get clarification. However, City and the Dubai Mall Med Center are in, so I made an appt with a doc there and I'm hoping I like her. Seeing her next monday (dr. Grace Jacob). Thanks Sydneygal. I checked with Dr. Sant and they dont take my insurance. Also, no evening hours for the working momma to be. :( so that one is out. I'm still looking to suggestions for a new doc if you want to give them. I also read once that someone was seeing a doc in Dr. Suliman Habib Center but can't find the post. Anyone else know who? Still searchin............

Now both of you have me convinced that I need to see a doc in a clinic setting rather than hospital. I would feel so bad being rushed. I am not now, luckily but my doc doesnt deliver at AH, only medcare. I think i'm going to try to find one that has their own clinic but delivers there. I just know me and I need to ask a million questions and like it when I have the time to. Thanks for the input ladies. You really have helped me out a lot. :D

Enigma, if you dont mind me asking, where are you going currently? I'm still at Dr. Fakikh's but wanted to move closer to home and deliver at AH, so I'm getting more ideas. N.Kaye - quick question: Did you feel like you were getting the "personal touch" when you went in for check-ups at AH? I am only hesitant now on the possibility of just being another number...I hate that concept. At my current clinic, everyone knows me, my name, my hubby's name, and treats me really nicely. I'm looking for that again before I move. Your thoughts?

I'd laugh at him and tell him he's got the best he's going to get. haha thats what id do :) Hilarious! :D I would probably do the same too. Also remember, you gotta be something great too if you two are together. Agree with the rest, laugh it up, join in on the fun and if he tells you, you look like **** or something, make sure something is flying at his face instaneously! ;) It will keep him in check.

Hey M&S! I am...I just finished 14 weeks. Its just a weird feeling to not feel anything. I think I may take up your advice and head over to hear the heartbeat. I would love to have that reassurance.:) Otherwise, my hormones are making me uber happy. I find myself laughing at everything, and so mild tempered with all of the daily and work drama. Its strange ;) I guess that is a symptom too, I'm just overlooking it because its positive. Thanks for the info.:D How are you doing btw???

welcome, welcome CapeChick! Glad you could join us!!! About telling your boss. Don't make it a big deal but do it professionally. Call for a meeting to discuss and then break the news. He should feel reassured that you're not going anywhere. Most of the time, you end up with a great response. its only the random few who arent so nice. Good luck! Just to share: I have a strange state of mind today. I don't have any M/S (yippeee!), but I also dont have any other symptoms, (besides being hungry) and its leaving me in a state of perplexity. I have no signals that I'm preggo minus the little belly (which isn't growing too much cause I'm still on glucophage). Its a weird state of mind. i'm actually looking forward to the next US for reassurance that there's something in there....I'm sure I'm just overthinking it...but its there. I'm also sure I'll feel better when baby starts kicking...that's reassurance if there ever was any! :D any thoughts?

Hey mrsrjbr! Congrats on enjoying the scan. I went to dest maternity yesterday and I didnt see a sale sign. I was also at Mirdiff which I think is smaller than the one at Dubai mall. Since you brought it up though I wanna hijack your post and ask a question (if you don't mind). Anyone know where to get tapered slacks or stovepipe slacks in maternity wear? I searched high and low yesterday until my poor feet hurt in Mirdiff. No luck. It seems wide legged is the current style but I'm not tall enough to not look like a midget when I wear them with flats. any suggestions? I'm headed to Dubai mall tomorrow, with my fingers crossed.

How long has it been sicne delivery? If not, try one of those cinching thingies that you are supposed to wear after birth. It should help with the healing and re-firming of your tummy. Good luck!

Congrats! Congrats kts!! That's awesome news!! So happy to hear. I must admit though, I am jealous :(. My doc said I had to wait until my next visit to find out the ***.... OOhhh woe is me...yeah right. No seriously that is the best news. I just ponder on how great this group is and we can all share our experiences as we go along this journey with each other. I have 4 sisters, but all in the USA. I don't miss them as much during this time thanks to all of you!! :D

Hey Maariyah. I would suggest just check with your doc. we Preggo ladies can actually take meds if we get sick, just specific ones. You also dont want to take a chance and have it turn into something else that is harmful for you or the baby later, like (pnemonia or bronchitis). Feel better soon. :)

Welcome GrenArdo and Congrats!! Hope this will be another fun trip for you. I have a question since you are a veteran: How do you cope with the fact that this process takes soooo long?? ;) I wanna see my LO now! :D Also, is Dr. Raj very busy? I am thinking of switching my OBGYN to American because I want to deliver there and I am debating on the doc. I saw Dr. George Michailidis before after my first miscarraige and he was quite good but I think I would like an opinion from someone else. Hey kts: I agree with Bexx for the milk. I have this awful taste in my mouth that never seems to go away unless I eat really salty foods like popcorn or tomato and sprinkled salt, or milk. Go figure.:\: I however love the taste of milk, like creamy and sweet cream...ooops sorry. Anyhow it does work for some. Why not try just a little to see how your taste buds react? Ginger never worked for me. My M/S is still hanging around but its more like, just that bad taste that then leads to nausea. So if I catch it before it gets bad, eat a little something or another, then I'm ok. But yeah, working and MS sucks a million! :-| Anybody feel weird about buying maternity clothes? I think I'm in denial that I need them. My bella band works wonders ;)!!

Hey Bexx! Excellent news. I am only praying for the day when we ALL can say our MS is totally gone! I think I spoke to early in my previous post and jinxed myself :(. Its back! Mover- So happy your little one was dancing away!! So was mine. Such a great relief. This in between time when we don't feel much of anything but are just growing is harsh! I can't wait till I cna count the kicks daily. At least I know for sure somethin is goin on in there! Ta Ta for now ladies! :D

Hey Bexx- I'm seeing Dr. Fatin, who is at Dr. Fakih's clinic still. I had posted something about that earlier cause I am having a delimma. She only delivers at IMD and Medcare. IMD.....err Its a little rustic for my taste and Medcare is actually a little far for my comfort. But she is amazing! I'm sooo confused!! Any thoughts? Any one at American hospital? Who are you seeing? Ohhh and good news...MS left me on day 7 of week 11!! Yipppppieeee!! :D

Ohh You ladies Rock! I must admit now that thinking about a silly needle should be the least of my worries. I am still planning to have one. I am a wuss when it comes to pain, but I feel much better. you can also just link your iTunes account to a CC and get the games. Why not surprize him one morning after you have downloaded all the games? Or create your own gift cards and use the CC info to buy them online. Just an idea. btw - I dont know of anyone coming from the us ;)

Great Info M and a S! I am so all about knowing all I can for this pregnacy....everything possible...kinda mentality. I want to schedule my NT soon. My doc is saying in week 13 which is next week, but my anxiety is making me want to know now! I have refrained from telling everyone until this test result comes back. I had to tell my office and I had to tell both the parents. So I'm only waiting for my negative or low score to come back (fingers crossed) so I can reveal my growing belly to the world. :D mrsrjbr thanks for the info on them telling the *** of the baby. we want to know it sooner too. We arent hung up on anything. We just want a healthy baby, which I'm sure all of us want ;)

Hi BA, I actually only had one, but I did one thing that I noticed a lot of failed IVFs did not. I got up. I didn't lay down all day. I just took it easy and relaxed. I sat up, cooked a mean, watched TV and did a little work. I also stayed stress free for 2 weeks so that it would happen naturally because I had two failed IUIs beforehand in which I was stressed beyond imagination. I truly think the stressfree situation is what made it all happen. I wish you all the happiness in the world BA and hopefully you wont have to go through this again.

You rock!! :D Enigma, Preggie pops are supposed to be these awesome creations (candies & ice lollies)to help you with M/S. I havent tried them yet but my M/S is still lingering. :( I am supposed to have my nuchal screening I think sometime next week. My doc wants me back in week 13. My outlook is positive. I'm only 31 and as long as you are under 40, you should have the same. I wouldn't worry so much. Its also not like genetic abnormalitites are easy to occur either ;) Share your results so we can be happy with you!:D DesertDJ, lifesaver!!! I'll call them up today. I just hope they work miracles or something because I am still taking Navidoxine! :-|
