Ive been going to 'A Cut Above' in the Jumeirah Centre , Jumeirah road. Tried a few in Jumeirah 1, and although all were good this is very good and not too expensive.

We brought our cat over from Kent nearly a year ago. We used a local firm there who used Snoopy Pets here. He was absolutely fine and has adjusted well to life in the sunshine. I say go for it.

Hi Beadzyyy, Firstly, I want to say well done for putting down in words how you feel, and I'm sending you a virtual hug. I'm sorry you are feeling depressed. It is sad that you feel you can't talk to your husband about this, but I wondered if there is anyone else that you feel you could talk to, like a family member or friend who you trust and importantly, would be sympathetic. Have you thought about seeing a doctor? Depression is a very real problem and getting the right sort of help is important. Sometimes just a sympathetic ear, sometimes medication, but talking to a professional is the first step if that is something you feel able to do. Please do not try to struggle through this alone. Debbie x

We looked at loads when we moved into our villa, in the end got from Ikea. We had space for a stove but they do hobs too. They fitted our stove and extractor and it felt like a good service. Also saw hobs in Sharaf DG in Times Square. We got other white goods there and they were good re delivery and fitting too.

Hi Kim! Im a similar age to you, would love to meet up for a coffee or something. Im not really anywhere that near you (Jumeirah 1) but we could always meet in the middle. Im fairly new too, came end of Feb and meeting new friends has been tricky :-)

I don't have a dryer, I just hang washing out. So far so good. We've got a top loader and sheets are fine in it. When we lived in the UK we had a front loader standard size and sheets and large towels were always ok in it. Could it be that your machine is not level?

Hi Tracey, Where in Queensland are you? My son his partner and their new baby live in Petrie, Brisbane. I moved here with my husband a few months ago from the UK. Cant say there is anything I can't buy in the shops that is from home ( that I have noticed!) Hope your move goes smoothly, good luck.

I'm afraid I don't have any good suggestions just wanted to say I know how you feel. I spend all day cleaning too. Not yet started seriously looking for a job and have begun to wonder how I will meet people.

I'm sorry I don't know where any shops selling crochet supplies are, but wanted to tell you about a lovely blog about crochet projects its called Attic 24. You should find it if you just google that. I'm going to try to put a link at the bottom of my post but don't know if that will work. http://www.attic24.typepad.com

Not sure if they would have a whale costume, but the beach centre on Jumeirah beach road, Jumeirah 1 has a costume shop.

I just googled (quite a bit) and found example questions re the exam. They seem quite varied, and based mostly in general nursing, which is tough for me as haven't been a gen nurse for many years as became a midwife then recently a health visitor. I hope I have enough evidence to revalidate when needed based on the last few years, but will need to work eventually.

Hi, My background is nursing/midwifery. I'm here because of husbands work too. I have not started looking for a job yet, waiting for visa to go through. I have looked at the exam that nurses have to take, think I'll have to do a bit of revision!! I am slightly concerned how I will keep my NMC registration going so ideally need to work to clock up the required hours.

There are 2 (at least) craft stores in the Beach Centre mall on Jumeirah road, Jumeirah 1. The mall is a large blue building. I'm sure they would have what you are looking for.

Same. We started looking much too early. Were not going to be ready until about end of Feb/middle of March and started looking in December & January. Agents did not want to take us seriously for one thing as the market moves so quickly. In the end my husband started looking towards the end of Feb and we found something very quickly. Mind you we looked online for ages before as well and got an idea of what & where we didn't want

Hi Nikki I'm really interested to read your post. I've (literally) just moved to Dubai because of my husbands job. I was a health visitor in the UK, before that I was a midwife. I am thinking about looking for work soon. Would be great to get any thoughts from you re this. Deb
