Could someone please recommend a curtain maker that isn't short sighted or allergic to precision? Thank you kindly.

Hi NKH, There are plenty of tutors both in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and contrary to what busybee2 has said they ARE allowed to tutor privately and on their husband's visas as long as their teaching hours do not exceed 10 hours a week. As per norm I would ask to see teaching certificates and references but if the tutor is qualified and experienced this will take no time at all. Feel free to send me your email address and I will happily forward you the numbers of fully qualified tutors based in Abu Dhabi. As per Busy Bees comments about Brighton College, yes, it is only 2 years old, but they have fully qualified staff with UK teaching experience, excellent facilities and resources, learning support staff for Special Needs AND Gifted and Talented, not to mention outstanding GCSE results this year. Repton, on the other hand, does not have such a glowing reputation. Check the numerous threads from staff and parents on the TES ( Times Educational Supplement ) for their opinion of the school. Hope this is of some help to you.

Is anyone still around?! ? I've just moved here, lived in Dubai, and am from England. I don't know a soul here and am wondering if there's anyone here in the same position. I know coffee shops are closed but the restaurants in most of the hotels are open. Let me know if you fancy a coffee if you're going a bit stir crazy like me! : )

Laughing as we really are all in the same boat. I'm giving up work and am worried about going stir crazy without a job. I'm a qualified teacher from the uk so if any of your kids need tuition please let me know as really can't twiddle my thumbs all day! Looking forward to seeing you all soon. My husband and I are moving to Abu Dhabi in 2 weeks time. We'll be living in short term rental place on Yas island till we find a more permanent place.

We really like Saadiyat beach villas and St.Regis. Only problem with the villas is none of the gardens are landscaped. Have you found a place yet?
