sounds like excuses only.... duty frees are making money by selling stuff... they deal with millions of passengers who have connections... they seal everything without questions... there will be no problem. and there is no such a thing that no time in amsterdam.... she passes by the duty free anyways. amsterdam airport is easy. she just need to ask the shop assistant for your moisturizer, pay, 2 minutes really.... i am flying end of next week, would you like me to get something to you from dubai airport? it is a short business trip, i can stuff it to my bag, no problems.

I only know Malik Burgers at Jumeirah Beach Park, lol :) :D :D Anyways, 1. ask for RERA registration number if the agent, and check on rera website. 2. give check not cash. get the photocopy with hand written ("received by" name, signature, stamp, date). they cannot demand cash. if they need cash they can go to the bank that issued your check and cash it, takes 3 minutes. 3. usually the deposit check is on the landlord's name not on the agent's name!!! only the agency fee is written to the agent's company name.

if you go to government clinics with your government health card, they are much cheaper than in private hospitals. but yes, any hospital that has their own pharmacy will have them.

you can open management consultancy as sole proprietorship professional company (no local partner required) in dubai as a standard llc. the cheapest and best thing. it is a myth that freezones would be cheaper than dubai registration. with fujeirah free zone, you do not need to pay for their phone line etc package if you do not want and you do not need to use "their premise" for your meetings, can be in any serviced office. you just cannot rent direct from landlord dubai commercial space, but any serviced office (like regus, etc) are fine. by the way, creative zone has no own premises, they themselves just rent offices from "signature business center" serviced offices. with fujeirah free zone, be very careful as visas may take very long time, up to 3 months. also the staff is quite rude and rough when you have problems and not everything rosy. good luck.

I do not think that anyone has their own farm here. It is a silly question. Also the flights questions is silly, almost everyone flies very regularly here and I am not gonna give up seeing my family for any green fad! I am actually do not really do anything extra, apart from reasonable things that i do anyways, and came 4.2 planets. I expected worse.

Good place to live if you can handle the body odor of your neighbors on the corridors and in the elevator, if the elevator works, but most of the time it is non-airconditioned staircase anyways. Expect torn of fire doors and garbage on the corridors. Nakheel gave up on maintenance long ago. Do not be surprised if your house mates spat on the corridors. Oh, and hard to get parking as some studios are shared by 6-8 taxi drivers. You may see mold on the ceiling, but do not worry, it is not a leak from the upper tenant's bathroom. They do not shower or bath. If you like all these, it is your place. On the good side, easy to get a maid, as there will be a few in your building, sharing studios, 10 of them. But not all apartments are that overpopulated. You will also sometimes see very fancy cars, arriving with arab guys and a questionable looking lady, spending a few hours in a rarely used apartment. edited by dentro on 14/10/2011

people are so different, some treat their maids as mindless slaves others treat them as an honored guest of the house. i know people who are happy to deduct 5 dirhams if they can, an people who even pay for driving/typing/english classes to their maids! maids tend to see a nationality and behavioral frequency patterns relation and go for lower risk of bad treatment and higher possibility of "cash cows". they screen for this. they tend to have silly ideas too, like these days more and more spa technicians tells me how they will resign and "get their own visa"and just go to homes... oh yeah... try to tell them there is no such a thing that "own visa" ... it seems like a trend... edited by dentro on 11/10/2011

so what exactly is your question? at least name a veg that you find "exotic" so we can help. or go for indian/ lebaneese / thai cooking classes? i had a few fruits at the beginning that i have not tasted before, and ordered a few fruit plates in 5 star hotels to learn how they should be opened and displayed. so maybe keep ordering "weird" veg in restaurants?

i do not think that high hit count will make people change their mind and take pets. i believe whoever decides to start having cats would check the pet forum anyways. the reason why the pet forum is quiet is because not too many people wants to constantly have cat fur on their sofas and cloths, etc. i am happy to bump up your thread. i also believe that the natural environment of cats with fairly wild mothers is not a human home. i do admire animals and respect the natural way of their life. good luck to you and the cats. you will soon find someone.

Fostered pets are generally spayed therefore eliminating the chances of them breeding. well, clearly not very frequently, as you see (two kittens).

sorry not interested, as there are chances like this about 5 times a day, the more cats and dogs you foster, the bigger the problem gets, meaning more new kittens and puppies requiring even more foster parents... anyways, I am only posting to let you know there is a pet section on EW that you may be interested to check out

even if the doctor gave him such medicals, it was michael j who took it. he was an adult for god's sake, he must have asked the doctor about what pill that was, and search on google to see side effects if he feels funny when taking. come on, one can only blame mj, he knew very well what he was taking, and probably asked for it. he had asked for all those nose jobs and bleaching, he was not unexperienced with doctors... edited by dentro on 05/10/2011

honestly, i want police to attend accident with serious injuries, rape cases, etc , not misparked cars... i would not call police. however in my building security told me in similar situation that they called police, police came, but could do nothing as the car is in a deep garage so tow car cannot access. Just reason 5,830,xxx, why I can't stand this place. hope you can get out soon, any particular reason that you are forced to take up with horrid place??

stop yelling at security, ask them for an other parking spot (they would know who did not move in yet or similar), leave a note on that car that he actually caused problems and he should call you asap. there is nothing really to be done now unfortunately. or: burn that car. :D :D

they operate as "health factory". i tried them about 4 years ago, so not sure how relevant is my experience. they deliver in the morning, 5 portions of nicely packed and delicious food, mind you, only feels delicious for max 4-6 weeks, after that it is impossible to continue on living on it, your stomach refuses. Their nutritionist called me and evaluated over the phone... lol...was very basic, and unprofessional. anyways, if low-calorie diets work for you and you only need to loose a few kgs, give a try. otherwise find something better.

dentro, I think many people from EVERYWHERE find excessive drinking bad behaviour unacceptable. agree. i just pointed out that OP started her post by saying she was drinking (probably not excessively) which is also morally incorrect by some, even in moderation.

I was referring to the moral side of drinking, in muslim tradition it is illegal. Hence many find it disgusting. About the western country comment, I meant if you go to a bar in Rome/London/Paris/etc you see more obviously dressed (non-dressed...) and more obviously behaving prostitutes. I just imagined how the OP would be outraged!! edited by dentro on 01/10/2011

After many bad experience I decided to only use cobone if I know the advertiser salon/company / etc from previous dealings. Currently they have a 10 session LPG offer in the premium section, i know that that salon is nice and reliable, so bought that. But i would not buy any more new stuff from there, so many advertises untrue things like moroccan bath behind metropolitan which was a dirty shitty place and they hosed you down on a kitchen counter, no joke. or the avantgarde eyelashes that were supposed to last 6 weeks, the technician was totally unskilled, and built a jungle on my eyes that started falling that afternoon and disappeared in less than two weeks. or all those "we are fully booked until next year" places. or the hairdresser that made faces when he heard i had cobone and said "wish you would pay full price, this is no business for us" before he started! then he tried not to put spray or mousse or anything...ahh not to mention how many times there is no discount just the normal price and marked up, like business cards deal or the chiropractor. i fall for the chiro as i thouht for 450 it would be a more throughout posture analysis, but it was just the same stuff that is 300 everywhere else....plus he was overly pushy about telling me how i should come 3 times a week (???) i see no big difference in between cobone/gonabit/groupon /etc, i think the problem is with the advertisers to start with and then cobone/gonabit/etc fails checking on them. so i stick with known businesses only plus there is the good old entertainer bodybook, many times with better offers!

Hi Ladies thought the newbies to Dubai would like to know that when you approach your doctor for the first time to ask for contraceptives, you will need to either take hubbie with or take the form they give you home and go back at a later date - you need his written permission!! The Mysteries of the Middle East! ?????????? Just go to the pharmacy and buy it, no prescription needed. If you do not know which pill you need just see a doctor, no husband needed of course, lol.
