First, I have to thank you all for taking the time to reply back...thnx a bunch Second, I did comfort her in every way I can and I did ask what happened and all...she said it was a motor cycle accident and the guy driving was under alcohol influence and he was put in jail. My first reaction was definitely to send her home ASAP to see her daughter...it's such a trauma! The thing is she didn't even ask to call her husband back or even her other daughter!! Another thing is the plane ticket isn't cheap...I wouldn't wanna do that and then she doesn't come back. My financial status now isn't great anyways. Then we called the agency we got her from and asked for advice. The agency owner wasn't surprised at all at her story and asked us to bring her to the agency this evening. What's scaring me now is that what r they gonna do with her there? Threaten her, hurt her, try to force the real story out of her. If that happens, how the **** can I have her stay at my house after that?? I got 2 girls for god's sakes! This is scaring the **** outta me I'm sooooo confused here :-( It sounds a bit fishy. One of my friends had this happen to her and it was all made up in the end. Why don't to ask for the Husband's number and call him?

can do or could do at that sort of age? In terms of talking, counting, knowing the alphabet, general understanding? All replies much appreciated, although no lectures on children developing at different rates required! :) Mine knew about 20 words, were potty trained and could scribble. That's about it. They are older now and doing well at school, It just depends as all children develop differently

I'm new to this forum so not sure if I am allowed to name and shame but I tried a place called Glitz in Barsha, absolutely awful, the worst hair salon I;ve ever been to. This was the place where they dyed my hair blue. They put on the peroxide then left toner on for 45 mins. I've had blonde hair for 3 years so wondered why on earth she had purple toner on my hair for so long - when she rinsed it off I had smurf hair! All the salon girls were giggling, no one apologised, the manager refused to come out from "backstage" and speak with me, so I told them I wasn't paying and they should pay ME to rectify the mistake at a different salon. Eventually they did, as they admitted they weren't sure they could remedy the error themselves but the whole attitude of everyone that it was all a big joke was appalling - especially as I work in a client facing role and can't have blue hair! Not even that, I don't want blue hair lool! You have to be careful. Most of these salons have no idea how to color blonde hair. I went to a Japanese salon here once and they refused to dye my hair as they had noone qualified to do it. They cut my hair instead and I was very happy with their honesty

Gave us three choices but by the way they were acting and reading between lines would prefer we take him out. 1 We change school 2 He redoes year 11 3 He tries to recover work in next 3 months so he can move to year 12 (which they said would be almost impossible for him to do) So do not know what to do not going be very happy weekend!! If he truly us behind, why not have him repeat year 11? Would it do him any harm? Perhaps the fear of having to repeat would make him work harder till the end of the year

Am I right in thinking that it will be very diffucult or almost impossible to get him into another school at this time of year? Don't like the thought of him jiust sitting aroiund at home doing nothing. He is 17 in October What? Help. Can they do that?

And as if the poor girl hasn't suffered enough already, her mum forces her to speak on video to put it on you tube?! I really don't get that. And allegedly spends donation money on herself and charges reporters for interviews... :( What don't you get about it? The Ukraine is a corrupt, hierachial country where the top layers of society are offered impunity. The men implicated in this rape and attempted murder are sons of ex-high ranking officials are were "let off" after questionning. The Mother is trying to blow this out of the water to ensure they are brought to justice. How do you think they will pay for the hospital and care that will be needed for many years to come? I didn't say i didn't " get" it...But spending money for the girl's care on herself, if true is pretty unpleasant.. And the topless (?!) protestors are doing their bit to get publicity.... Sorry Sue62, it was directed at the other poster. oopsidaisy

Thank you, It definately does, with the rates reducing it seems like the ideal time to buy, repayments appear to be far less than rent! Until the banks change the rates on you from one day to the next and you are stuck!

This reminds me of a story my Mum once told me. Apparently, back in the 70s, she put on a wash and took me out for a walk around the block in my pushchair. When she came back, the washing machine had completely flooded the house. So what does my Mum do to get rid of the water, she plugs in the electric drill and drills holes in the floor for the water to run down. Apparently, she told me years later that Dad had asked her so many times to get the thing fixed but she hadn't bothered. So she was so afraid of what he would say about the flooding, she thought it a better idea to risk electrocution by drilling holes.!!!!! Hehe. Seriously, I love my Mum but how silly can you get?

A chartered secretary has significant skills in financial reporting, laws, strategy and assists the Board of Directors of large companies whether listed on a stock exchange or just big conglomerates. They are usually lawyers or accountants. Oh, like a Company Secretary. Yes, usually Legal counsel is the Corporate Secretary. Interesting that there is actually a course to become chartered :)

Our maid used to come to the last point of the public transport, then either she'd take a cab, or I'll pick her up if im home. The fare never used to be more 12-15 dim, she paid. Yes, I was just about to say this. She should be able to get a bus or metro to the nearest point and then jump in a taxi. It sounds like laziness. I like Purple's idea. Give her an extra 100 Dhs each month and let her use that as transport. If she spends it on something else, too bad! edited by derien on 19/03/2012

http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork.com/developments/dubai/dubailand/snowdome.php and it all sounded so viable! The ski dome will be a climate controlled transparent steel dome structure, with a 220 meter (722 foot) diameter and 75 meter (246 foot) height. Its entrance will be marked by two huge real-ice columns and the skidome will contain a rotating ski deck/slope, mountain run, training area, snow play area, toboggan run, flying theater, an iceberg-shaped five-star deluxe hotel, pinguinarium, winter aquaria, snow castle, ice-rink, animal statues, 4-season aquaria, snowfall, sound and light effects, as well as cold and warm bath spas. The Snow dome will feature only real snow, around 6,000 tons (5.5 million kilograms), in its +10 degrees Centigrade winter environment. Snowdome will be surrounded by 9 Iceberg Residences towers and flanked by 2 Crystal Towers, all with winter themed architecture. The Iceberg Residence apartment buildings will screen the snowdome from the early morning sun. edited by spongemonkey on 14/03/2012 LMAO. Oh.... I really miss the old Dubai. Hiccup. You must see a doctor immediately. This happened to me when I first arrived in Dubai. I had a 3 year old and a 4 month old and I was suddenly home all alone everyday with the pressure of the kids and I just fell into depression. It went on for 3 months before I got help. I would litterly sit in my room and cry and kick things for hours. You must not let this get out of hand. Think about all the beautiful things you are missing out on because you feel this way. It is not your fault, it is an illness that you must seek help for. Let me know if I can be of any helf. xox
