That is great news. Are you able to advise me in more detail of the process like cost and if you if this can be done in Abu Dhabi as apposed to Dubai. I appreciate any info.
This is a very old thread but I just wanted to let you all know you can sponsor a south african maid.
I have had 2 already. If you are south african as well you and your husband just need to sign an affidavit stating that you not related to your housemaid and you need one extra letter from the courts stating that you would be taking care of the maid. I'm not sure what the letter is called though..I usually just take a copy of the first letter and tell them I need one of these...The courts in sheikh zayed road types out the letter and you get the affidavit signed by the sa consulate in dubai.

I have a south african maid...have had two already in actual fact. You just have to prove you and hubby are not related ( affidavit) and then get another letter from the court stamped...promising that the maid is your responsibility. Easy as pie.
If anyone knows of south african help willing to work in Dubai please let me know. My current helping hand will be getting married and returning to ZA.
