"We" understand what she meant! I think it's quite clear what she meant..... Still, I bet it's nothing to what maids say about their madams, and who can blame them ?

If you know her email address you can always search for her using by her email address #beentheredonethat Only if it's the one she used to register with and lots of people use a throw-away email... Sounds likely that the OP has been blocked - she needs to make another account in a different name if she wants to see what the maid is posting (assuming the privacy is set to "public").

Who is her sponsor ? Because if, as FairyDust says, it isn't you or an agency, you are employing her illegally and loaning her money you will have no legal recourse if she disappears... Moreover, if you try to report her you will be in serious trouble... Many maids get conned into buying visas from locals who tell them it's legal so she may not be breaking the law deliberately..If she's on her husband's visa I believe she needs a work permit to work as a "cleaner" rather than a maid or nanny.. Good luck.

I lost weight here, I don't know about all of you, but I find food here to be almost tasteless and very sterile so I'm not a big foodie now. Plus taking the stairs helps I guess. Really ? omg... we love it !!

Yes, we've both gained the "Dubai stone" and then some !! Yes you can eat healthily and go to the gym but if you want to enjoy everything Dubai has to offer you will eat out more, eat later and have take aways..three things guaranteed to pile on the pounds. Also, unless you go to the gym the options for proper exercise are limited to a few months a year - we drive most of the time anyway and many women no longer work so they spend their days at home... And if we have a maid we don't even burn the calories off with housework any more !! Actually, when you think about it, we're lucky not to put on more weight than we do !! lol

I bought the red gravy granules in Green Community Spinneys this morning...it's the brown box powder i'm having trouble with....missing my proper gravy !! lol Not sure what you mean by brown box powder but MC Spinnys sell the Bisto in the brown jar... I have bought it before... its the gravy browning one I think Used for thickening and colour. I need to get myself to MC Yes that's exactly the one! Its for thickening... when normal Bisto wasn't on the shelves I bought this to try it and didn't realise what it was properly... its only been used that once! Mine has been used once and is gathering dust ha It's the stuff you use to make gravy with the meat juices, not boiling water - mix it with water in a cup then add it to the juice from the roast, bring to the boil so it thickens and blup for a minute = proper gravy !! lol

It's definitely the butter they use which apparently has a higher melting point..personally i'd rather they made it properly and let me take my chances !! lol

I suggest you sit her down and outline the (non negotiable) house rules regarding her duties, access to Internet and telephone etc. Also give them to her in writing if she can read some English - you will have covered all your bases. At least then, she cannot come back and tell you that she "didn't know" "you didn't tell me". Our maid does have internet connection so she can Skype with her children, however, she has work to complete first, then her family and friends. As Appetiser points out, [b'>our bosses would never allow us to surf the net and chat with friends while we are working[/b'>. LOL !! How many people do you suppose post on EW while they are at work ?? I wish I did have time while working to sit on the computer looking at emails, EW, and facebook. I just don't have the time and I assumed that most others would not either - breaks etc are the time for these activities. well, 27 up thumbs say different !! lolol

I've only ever had Park n Shop since we've been here - they always have a design we like and the vanilla option is really nice ...they come in a good range of sizes and the icing is always accurate (apart from one year they made a tiny mistake on the name but they corrected it so you could hardly see - and he does have an unusual name !! lol)..would happily recommend them any time..

A taxi driver told me they do it with the bonnet up. People think they are fixing the engine when in fact they're sprinkling over the engine. True story. ? Vile!! I suppose they have anti-bacterial in their glove compartment do they?! Do they heck!!! Disgusting sorry I feel so strongly about this!! When I get my change handed back to me I will never be able to get this out my head!!! sorry to be crude but how many men wash their hands thoroughly anyway ? Never eat open bar snacks !! lol I'd prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt though as most men will use normal toilet facilities... However in these situations where you know there is nowhere to wash your hands... Other than to wipe drops onto your trousers is plain disgusting!! Never ever touch the nuts they give you in bars either... Ever! That's what I meant !!

Does anyone have any idea how I can unblock this please? If you go into your privacy settings there's a list of things down the left including things you've blocked Thanks. I assume I'll have to do that on my lapop and not my iPhone? oh I don't know Iphones but I think the options are quite limited on phones..don't know if you can get into settings...

The biggest rival to here is British Mums but I guess that wouldn't help you !! lol - there must be an equivalent for other nationalities...or community groups... or other forums.. but we're not allowed to mention them here... Is DLL still working?
