J In future I'll wait until we're back in the UK and do same day service there. I'm not sure what you gain by doing that. It costs about the same as the Dusseldorf service but you have to hang around the passport office for hours, and you can't just turn up, you have to make an appointment at least 2 weeks in advance, sometimes more depending on time of year. If you're organised enough to do that, surely you're organised enough to get your passport shipped to Dusseldorf in good time? Obviously the best thing to do would be to use the standard renewal service while in the UK, since that's so much cheaper. I am organised enough to get the passport renewed 3 months before I need to travel. My concern was that I had been charged for the passport but after 2 weeks had not received it. On calling the help line I was told it had been issued but that wasn't true as I called them on 13th and the passport was issued 16th. I finally received it 3 days later. Getting a passport on same day service will be quicker and a lot less stressful especially for me as I live near a passport office in the UK <em>edited by DubaiCariad on 20/05/2011</em>

I’ve tried doing a search but only come up with furniture makers in Qatar. I’m looking for recommendations for good, reasonably priced furniture makers. I’ve been looking for an entryway cabinet and new lounge suite in the stores but can’t find anything I like or if I do like something it doesn’t fit, so I've decided to get some made instead. I’m not entirely sure if I need an upholster, a carpenter or both. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
