I am still in denial and trying not to think about all the practicalities you've mentioned. Every now and again I have a moment where I think it might just be OK, and I might be able to cope, then I go back to sheer panic and fear. Hence why I am still in denial at almost five months pregnant.

I don't know what to say, other than I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot even begin to imagine what you've been through and are still going through. I would say if you're happy with your doctor, stay with her as she knows you and she knows your history. If you do want recommendations for alternatives, I see Dr Elsa at City and while she is busy and hard to get an appointment with, she specialises in high-risk pregnancy and I am very happy with her. Good luck.x

Thanks for the link - that's great! I'm so disappointed the CK one doesn't have lots of pockets :(. I love the designs! But having one large pocket in the middle with a couple of smaller ones at the sides just isn't working for me. I can't find anything in the middle, and trying to dig out my car keys in 40 degrees is not fun!

We got charged for my visa and DS's by DH's company. HR's argument was that nobody got visa fees paid for families (yeah right, like the CEO doesn't). So why is he even on a married contract?:\: I didn't have to leave the country at all when I transferred onto his visa, but I went from my own sponsorship from my previous employer so maybe that's different.

We just moved and paid a 2,000dhs deposit to DEWA. That's refundable when we leave the villa, though, and I think it's 1,000dhs for an apartment.

Sounds like he's had a good telling-off from the Mrs! :D I spoke to my doctor about it and she said some people don't like his approach but he really is one of the best at what he does, so that's good enough for me. I'll tune out if he starts! Seriously, some people just don't get it. I remember seeing a lady having a meltdown because an ortho doctor couldn't see her son because he was in surgery with an emergency. Er.... duh?! I have to bite my tongue in situations like that. Hope all's well with your baby.

But really, I wouldn't have had to pay any fees. The tenant would have, as they told her a higher rent than I actually wanted. I would never have been out of pocket - I just really resented them using me and deceiving me to get the tenant to pay more fees.

They do, and half the time they don't know they're doing it and that's what's really wound me up. OK, I'm not the tenant in this case but I've been used to screw more money out of the tenant and it stinks. Of course a sensible landlord would build maintenance costs and suchlike into rent, but at least if the tenant knows the landlord pays all the fees and is therefore likely to do so, the playing field is a little bit fairer.

When I was crew we didn't carry a nebuliser on board and I can't remember ever having a passenger use their own. That's not to say they won't allow it, though. The best people to speak to would be the medical department but I'm afraid I don't have their contact details. Probably best to call Emirates HQ and ask them.

H.A.K, it's not transparent and they're not presenting the deal honestly to both parties. That's why it's a scam. I agree that landlords should be forking out agency fees as they do in other countries, but in this situation the tenant ends up forking out twice and the agents are simply not being honest about this. If they rocked up and said, "Hi, I'm agent so-and-so from such-and-such, I'll be charging you a 5 per cent agency fee then you'll be paying a further 5 per cent in the rental so your commission will be 10 per cent" then the tenant would have a choice about whether they went with that agency or not. As it is, the second fee is being hidden - and sneakily so - and it's not fair on the tenant. Perhaps it would be a better idea to have landlords pay all commission then rents would be adjusted accordingly and there'd be no opportunity for agents to cream off the top through tenants.

As far as I'm aware there is no alternative :(. There used to be a guy who could get hold of samples as he was meant to be setting up as the distributor here, but I lost his number ages ago. While I no longer work in media I'm doing all I can to get it publicised, including finding out from RERA where they stand legally on it as the head of agency licensing clearly told me yesterday they are only allowed to charge the tenant commission once. I'm a bit stuck without any other case studies, though.

You absolutely did the right thing but I totally understand how you're feeling. I'd be the same. Which is ridiculous, really - you're worried about someone losing their job when they thought they had the right to touch you?! That's mad! But like I said, I'd be sitting worrying about him losing his job too. DH, on the other hand, would probably be enjoying the legendary hospitality in the Bur Dubai Hilton with a grade one all over having belted him one (or three). You absolutely did the right thing. Think only of how many other women and/or girls you may have saved from suffering the same thing. You do the crime, you do the time. He has to face the consequences of his actions and that is no fault of yours. Hope you're feeling better.

I saw them in Cardiff a couple of weeks ago. Great concert from the foursome but I have to say I thought Robbie was an arrogant twonk, and if I'd wanted to see Robbie perform his solo songs I'd have gone to a Robbie concert. Definitely not a fan of his any more (but considering pit tickets for next concert to get as close to the other boys as possible!).

Thanks for all your replies, and sorry I haven't been able to get online to respond. I went to RERA this morning and filed a formal complaint, so I have to wait and see what they say. I'm meeting with the agency and the tenant this evening in the meantime.

I plan to with a tummy tuck once this baby appears :D. Seriously, though, I was having some success with the 30-Day Shred before I fell pregnant again. It didn't disappear entirely - not by a long shot - but I counted far less rolls when I did a sit-up at the end of the 30 days than at the beginning.

I have no clue. My sister was born in Norway because that's where we were living at the time, and she was nine when we left. At 16 she could have chosen Norwegian nationality but she didn't, as she said she'd feel like a fraud because she'd only been born there and had no real ties to the place once we'd left.

Love your disclaimer :D and I'd definitely agree - I know I've hit jackpot when DS goes to sleep either without a murmur or with just a little friendly chat to his cot pals, and I know he's had a good rest when I find him sitting or standing in his cot with a big grin on his face rather than lying down, rubbing his face into the sheets trying to get back to sleep.

Spinneys changed a load of coins DH had a while back. They were a bit grumpy about it and he had to wait till they were quiet, but they did it. They couldn't really argue when DH told them they asked him for change every time he visited!

As I said, I guess things are different here in a mainly private healthcare environment. Not sure I'd compromise my own morals based on that, though. Or slate someone 'just because it's business'. Sunsa, have you tried getting her to have a longer nap first thing in the morning? I'm not sure a 20-minute nap really counts as a proper nap. At 7 months DS was having three naps a day - one in the morning not more than about an hour and a half after he woke up, one at lunchtime/early afternoon and one before dinner. His before-dinner one was about 45 minutes and the other two both an hour and a half. It wasn't till he started having all three that I realised the difference in him - he was a much happier little boy once he was getting enough sleep. But then, a friend's baby only ever slept about two hours in total during the day and that was all she needed. I guess they all have their own requirements and it's up to us to work them out! If she's well-rested during the day, though, perhaps she'll find it easier to sleep more at night and not wake up so much?

If you chart her sleeping habits, you'll see how much she's really sleeping and then see what she's doing before she sleeps, so you can work out if you're missing her 'I'm shattered and need to sleep' cues. If you miss them and she gets overtired, she might sleep less because she's so overtired she's incapable of proper sleep. Does that make sense? Following advice from my Mum, I was letting DS stay up and play until he was grumpy and irritable, not realising that the grumpy and irritable stage was due to him being completely overtired. She always said it was a shame to put him to bed when he was having fun! But in fact it was a shame to keep him up beyond the point where he would be able to get himself to sleep calmly and happily.

Yes... they all try, at least! I found the trick is to watch the cue and as soon as they have that pickle glint in their eye, they reach out to do mischief and hop, i[i'>ntervention[/i'> in the form of "oh, so you've finished! [removes plate'>! Does that work at a year old or do I need to wait till he's a bit bigger? This morning we also had the delightful trick of taking a piece, chewing it then spitting it out into hand and throwing it.

The two offices I worked at - and many offices I know of - have a no-shoulders-on-show policy so if you do wear sleeveless, it's probably a good idea to bring little cardies or jackets to cover up with. Even if your office policy is lenient you don't want people staring at you or talking about you :\:. And same goes for short dresses. A girl I used to work with constantly came in in these tiny bum-skimming dresses and just wouldn't listen when our boss kept telling her not to, and she was oblivious to the dirty looks she got from more conservative staff members.

We tried a dreamfeed at around 8 weeks but he wasn't having any of it. To be fair, we didn't try that hard and I was trying to BF him rather than give him a bottle, so we may have been onto a loser from the start but it just didn't take off for him. Then at 7 months when we were having a nightmare getting him to sleep, we tried again on Cecile's advice and he scoffed a full 210ml bottle without opening his eyes. That was it, he took it every night until he was 10 months when he dropped it himself. Perhaps if we'd been more persistent to start with, he might have taken to it and we could have been on a better sleep routine earlier? I guess we'll never know. I do plan to try dreamfeeding with #2, though.
