A lot of people love Sumo but I find nothing special with their sushi, I'm better off buying sushi from Carrefour. . it's verry MaccDy's of the sushi world :) Couldn't agree more!

Yes it kind of is. Actually i might be a bit biased. Reason why I am no longer a fan of Istanbul is because i've been there a lot of times, while it was only my first time at Antalya last March and I looooved it. First time is always the best. It is more of a beach resort but more like Greece whilst Istanbul is more like Jordan. For me, at least. edited by dubaijunkee on 07/08/2011

Most of Pilates centres have pay as you go prices. One of the best is Real Pilates in Jumeirah. If you're in Old Dubai area, you can go to The Hundred Pilates Studio in oud metha. If you're in Marina side and find Real Pilates too far (although I highly recommend it as they're the top pilates centre I think).. you can try Exhale at JBR.

I tried it. Cuisine is Thai. Nothing special for me but I know some friends who absolutely love it. Although the staff are nice and the prices are reasonable. Worth a try.

Yes. I also recommend it. The first time, they will call you for verification; after that, just a few clicks and then wait for your doorbell to ring. Very convenient for me as I hate repeatedly telling my address to people, and I always take time in deciding what to order so it's inconvenient to the staff at times which makes me uncomfortable, plus I can put notes like if I don't need plastic spoons, forks, tissues, etc.

Yes, that's true. Their service is not bad, better than most, actually. I am just the type of person who's easily put off by staff attitude. I used to go there all the time but cos of that one incident, I shifted to Karkafi Salon in bdubai.

When I first came to Dubai I used to live in a building that is not so developed, I thought it was just my building. But I've moved several times now and seems like this is the case everywhere (?) in Dubai!

Actually, I think I need to say this. They're not ALL rude. There's just one receptionist who ****** me off to the core. The stylists are okay. Then again, that was months ago.

Wouldn't recommend them either. Services are not bad but the staff are not friendly. I get irritated just remembering how rude the staff are.

@Jasmine, I've tried the one in Dubai Mall but that was months ago. They do great manicure. About the hair, it depends on the stylist. My stylist's name was Nana.

I just moved to Mesk and am loving it. But I would have to leave in october cos my company decided to pay for my accommodation and lower my pay which isn't too bad because they didn't deduct much so i said yes. Will be moving to tecom. Anyway, it's a nice place to live in. I will miss my frequent sushi fix at itsu! :(

Out of the list I only used cobone, gonabit and deal gobbler. Groupon is pretty big but there are lots of complaints on their websites and had a not so good experience with cobone. Gonabit's and deal gobbler's deals are a bit limited (only one a day so i just check every morning, if i don't like it then i leave the page, easy peasy), unlike cobone with dozen of deals on their page. Cobone used to be really good but their customer service is eh? But if it's too good, wouldn't mind to buy another deal from them again.

Thanks jasmu. Price is pretty much the same as most boot camp fitness class company (50 aed/session). I'm interested though in their free running class. By the way, I've also bought the voucher for core studio, will book for my first class this weekend!

Nope to be honest. Not really a fan of salsa but I got a couple of friends who had been looking for decent classes that are more focused on learning than that "hook up" factor and they ended up either with Ritmo de Havana or James&Alex.

Unfortunately, Dubai is prolly the worst country in the Middle East to live if you're aiming on learning the language, since most people speak English anyway. I know someone who lived in Saudi for 7 months and can now speak and understand Arabic. Although I wouldn't want to live in Saudi just to learn Arabic. ;) I'm taking classes at Eton in Knowledge Village for Arabic next month!

For cheap hotels, try Ibis or Citymax. Going rate today is around 210aed per night. If you want really cheap, there's easyhotel in Jebel Ali, looks pretty decent (try to google it) at aed 99 per day! How's that for a budget hotel? Though a bit too far though. I guess Ibis is the best option if you're not looking for anything fancy.
