I completely agree. But is this a notion with most dog walkers? I worry extremely when they let the dogs come up and lick my young child. Do you think its appropriate to say something? Or would it be unreasonable to, as they're just dogs and this is what they do? I'm not sure of what the right approach is without causing offence!

Does anyone know of a nursery that supports attachment parenting? Unfortunately my lo started nursery but they do not want me to comfort him even though he's screaming like mad and they are unable to comfort him. Im looking for a nurturing nursery that has a good transition process to ease the separation anxiety in a gentle manner.

Just checked and Al Hilal aren't authorised :( they use a consultant which charge around 10,000 AED. Thanks for the suggestion though, I will use if I can't find anything else. Open to more suggestions :)

I think safa community school might have places? Give them a ring before you go though - they have a school tour every Monday at half 8,no booking and you just turn up.

Hi ladies My family are here in downtown for new years Eve but their flight back is at 5am on new years day. If they leave after the fireworks, will they make it to their flight if we drive them? What is the traffic like a couple of hours after the fireworks from downtown to mirdif? We are getting mixed responses from taxis and hotel. Please help!

I thought masafi had fluoride now? That used to be my favourite before they brought in new bottles with fluoride. Gulfa has no fluoride.

Thanks ladies, interesting thoughts. I'm still viewing a few more schools of both types, so was a really informative read! And now after reading the homeschooling thread, it's definitely me consider that as well! Aaaaah it's all so confusing haha!

Hi ladies, Have you noticed any differences between the standard of education and care between profit and non-profit schools? Do you think it even matters? I'm a bit confused with all this school choosing malarkey. And I somehow don't feel comfortable with paying into someone's pocket, rather than into a school. But does the fact it's profit making mean better facilities? Or better teachers? Help me out please!

They differ in prices according to experience, subjects, age of student, and how often you want them in. It depends on each individual tutor. You can get an unqualified tutor for around 100 dhs. Qualified is usually around 200 and upwards. Check myprivatetutor website

Hi ladies, Does anyone live in Al Reem here in a 2M or a 3M? I wanted to ask if anyone has brought the front door forward to the front arch? Or has anyone made their back door wider? Roughly how much does it cost? How long does it take? Thanks, would really appreciate the info!!

I have posted almost ad nauseum on the vax debates, and my apologies to the OP, but yes you have started yet another one. I have now promised myself, and you good ladies on EW. of this one thing............I am not going to even attempt after this one last time to try to talk sense into those people who think that just being a mother gives one a PHD, and many years expertise in epidemiology, microbiology, immunology.etc etc. The sheer arrogance of those people who think that mummyhood makes them smarter than the people who have devoted years of study to prevent unnecessary suffering would be laughable, if it weren't actually tragic. SO for my very last comment on this topic EVER..............those idiots who do not have their children vaccinated are guilty of gross child abuse and as such should face imprisonment and the removal of their offspring to a safer place of care. I do have to wonder why you said in your post this was your last attempt at convincing people but then calling them idiots? I've seen a few posts on ew where people have resorted to insulting rather than base their response on facts. The minute you starting letting your emotions carry away with you, no one will listen. Use facts and links to studies to convince people. Not playground banter. I didn't say whether my child was vaccinated or not. I clearly stated I was after information. So thank you for your information, but it was of no use to me.

I am not going to try to convince you, but when you do decide on a school you should let us know which one, so we can make sure our children are not placed in the same. Great! Would help with the waiting list problem (sigh)
