Hi little miss, I'm sure I've seen the Stokke at M&P and mothercare in Dubai mall. The flagship stores are often at Dubai mall with the biggest range. Good luck with your purchase!

Thank you for sharing. Chichpokli, I'm with Dr Liliana, have been for a few years already and she will be supporting me now through my first pregnancy. I'm comfortable with her, she has given me good care and advice in the last few years. I'm due to give birth at Al Zahra in March, I don't know much more than that at the moment though!

There is a shop called Braille house on Mankhool St. It is actually an educational resource shop, lots of Montessori pieces and excellent quality products for children. Perhaps a little pricey for family toys, I went while resourcing for a school. I would recommend it though for the long term pieces that your child/children will play with over and over.

Hi All, We are looking to remove a Damas tree, roots and all in the Springs. It will require lifting the bricks in the parking area. does anyone have recent experience of this and recommended companies to call, quotes etc. We're fearful it's a bit more than the typical gardeners job... TIA

What are my chances today? Normal hours? Considering satwa, plant souk or blue souk- all of which could be unpredictable hours :0s

Hi Amy, a lot will depend on their age. There are arrive and drive sessions regularly where you could meet and network, many children are run by their parents but there are people here who offer services. Gulfsport Racing might be able to give you some advice.

Hi Pepito, I don't have children but I teach and quite frankly would be more concerned at the Nursery's judgement of what is 'age appropriate'. Your daughter's a clever girl, it takes time to process and associate information with the real world. She could easily have it all locked in just waiting for the right moment :)

(oh, boo. did we have to let the boys join in & play...) GM, you didn't want realistic suggestions? Why didn't you say ;) He then proceeded to show me the Air base outside AD and the jets on display....I was captivated all of a few seconds:\:

I bought some to use as photo props from pottery barn kids last year. They had white, blue or natural darker wood at that time.

CACHE courses are run by Early years educations services (EYES- Middle east) Anyone can do these. Most cover you teaching up to the age of 5years- morning, afternoon or evening courses are run enabling it to be completed alongside work. I believe Middlesex Uni are or will offer the PGCE but she must have a degree first to complete it and I expect it is a full time course. I'm not certain, but I would expect teaching practice has to be at a British National curriculum school and that QTS (qualified teacher status) the normal probation year must also be completed at a school offering the National Curriculum- not certain if the British schools here qualify to award the status. If she's looking to work in a formal school under KHDA I would expect them to only accept the highest certificate. (Degree/PGCE) Please check out these options, this is only what I have learnt via chinese whispers. :)

While I can't always afford their itinerary I like to check audleytravel.co.uk for their ideas. A new site I stumbled upon and specialists in SE Asia is travellocal.com they can give you local and reputable contacts on the ground. HTH

We took our honeymoon in KL and Langkawi this past August. Langkawi, although beautiful was incredibly wet. Pretty much rained solid. Everyone we spoke to had a different opinion on the high/low season. We expected showers and high humidity but....nothing close to what we got. I'm told the different coasts of Malaysia experience weather in different ways. Just check it out.

It's behind Al Mawakeb school if that helps you visualise it better. It's a sprung track marked per 100m much like Safa park. One lap is about 1.4k HTH

So ladies, I ran yesterday and am eager to find out my official time- they're still not up on the website, 2010 only. Am I missing something or just impatient? I felt sure they were up by lunchtime last year!
