Ciao , PARIS - you should take a small hotel near Rue St Honore / Les Halles which is easy to find on tripadvisor. Lovely area and central with some lovely walks. If you like bistro style eat at La Poule au Pot or head to Montparnasse and experience the amazing La Cupole, though not if you dont like seafood Disney - treat yourselves and stay on resort or in Marne La Vallee at one of the cheaper off plot hotels. Be sure to get to the main park very early to roll Space mountain and then allow time to see RocknRolercoaster and Tower of Terror in the Studios Park with Stunt Show and Cinemaqique. The Nemo ride is not for the feint hearted. Train out from gare du Nord and then an easy though grumpy taxi off to CDG Roissy for the flight next day (unless you are travelling from the other airport at Orly) Roma - my favourite city - call Federico who is the same price as a taxi but 110% trustworthy and will arrive at the airport in a black merc and super suit. DH will be jealous. We used him for 12 years.....pm me for his number.... stay central so you don't have to use the metro or tram which have no A/C and can be unbearable in summer. Walk everywhere and steer clear of the pizza shops at lunch - try the small pizza rustica and buy by the slice. Terra del Sienna off Piazza Navona is great to eat to try tuscan and a Gran Caffee behind the pantheon is a must. Other way up from the Pantheon (with it to your back and heading to the right of MacDonalds) up the vicolo to the largest ice cream shop we ever found and amazing. Buy your ticket first and then order. Prague - last time DH stayed there in May he did a last minute booking to the Hotel Kings Court and loved it : big rooms , 5 moin walk from the old town square and quiet with great b/fast. Apart from that - enjoy edited by dumbblonde on 09/07/2013

poops ! having violated the rules trying to get rid of my DD's tix last week they eventually went. OMG - the tweets they have been posting "Bieber No More" Thankfully (eek) I am glad for a change that all the music they have they "acquired" for their iPod and phones is "acquired" music and this nincompoop idol earned zero fils from them. Its one thing to be an idol and another to be an example. I promised them that when the Stones come for F1 - we will ALL go and they wont be late xx

tnx SalsB nope - the only thing it says is ...... "Contract is renewable subject to satisfactory performance of initial contract duration of 48 months service" there is no notice period for him - just this pesky resignation clause. edited by dumbblonde on 14/02/2013

YAS has without doubt the best facilities for young kids. Yes there is the adrenaline stuff my 11 year old loves, but the 3 +7 year olds cannot get enough of the play areas. There are flumes, and all that bucket slopping stuff, but its kind of separated from the rest of the park so you have more space than Wadi or Atlantis. Dreamland is great for a nights camping at the chalet with some imported grape but the "zoo" is smelly and sad. It desperately needs an upgrade - barracuda is close by with cheap villas but again quite tired and no heating which is necessary this time of year Iceland - no experience

So this morning he gave us 90 days notice to leave or accept the increase which seems outrageous. Can he do that ?

Wow - glad I found this as we just had a call from our landlord asking for 15% increase on 48hours notice !! The rent calculator shows our current rent is still inside the band (5% over actually) and there is no 90days notice from him. We also never give them notice we will renew as it always happens very amicably signing new contract and handing over cheques. Our contract renews on 1st September - this will be 4th year - and I don't believe they can insist on this rise or refuse to renew the contract and kick us out with 48hours notice I will contact RERA if necessary - any support more than welcome

Actually - it all worked out very easy and here is how in case any body else needs help. Registered mail without a PO box number is returned with no attempt at contact - that is clear. If you know you have a package coming, and it has not arrived send an e-mail to <[email protected]> with the UK tracking number and a request to confirm it is directed to a PO box or give your PO Box for them to apply the redirection. You will then get a nice email reply to let you know it as been done and then a call when to collect from your post office. In fact it was delivered to DH office (they have their PO box delivered direct) 3 days after the redirection. You can also go to Karama counter 18 on the backside and they will do it and give you a local UAE tracking number. I did both to be sure !!!! Some times, though rare in the UAE, what looks like "is going to be a complete nightmare" can turn out to be surprisingly easy......

Disaster needs to be averted......help girls please <?> A friend in the UK should have sent a package by fedex and took my husbands office address in Dubai rather than PO box number. She then sent it by Royal Mail signed for (she's even blonder than me). And here in UAE I think they don't deliver to street addresses. It only left last week and has not arrived yet though royal mail say it is out for delivery with emirates post office : Will it go to Dubai Central Post office in Karama ? Has this happened to anyone before and how can I try and get a hold of it over here . Thanks

Ciao Irooni - of more importance than the rice is the TYPE of risotto you will cook and stock. Fish or not ? Carnaroli Rice is much better suited to shellfish and squid / black ink risotto while Arborio works well with vegetables. Limit the solid ingredients to a maximum of 2 types. Spend twice the time on making the stock and when ready to go, love and nurture the "soffritto" - a base of finely chopped onion, celery and mushroom or carrot. The "tostatura" of the rice - adding to the pan and toasting for 4 mins makes the risotto nuttier. And never, ever use cream ! It will take 19 minutes to cook and keep the stock boiling. Finally , no matter what you make and how you do it , a risotto is not a risotto without the mancetatura : when finished, turn off the heat, add a good lump of butter and grated Parmesan cheese (gallery Lafayette has original PDG) , stir well, oh on a lid and mix a gin and tonic. By the time you had your second gulp, it's ready. Unsolicited advice I know ladies, but after 15 years of Italian andnSpanish criticism of my risotto and paella , I reckon I know pretty much what there is to know. ( first husband was Italian, second Spanish) will marry a scot next - easierb no ?

There are successful programmes for treatment without drugs and I have heard of people in Dubai taking on case studies and practitioning HET. Sadly the solution all too often is to stick the kid on drugs rather than work alternative options. http://www.HETwebsite.com/

Al Ain Centre (Computer Plaza) down on Al Mankhool Road. You can park in front or behind in the Spinneys car park. PC Centre on the upper floor has been our stable since we arrived.

Ladies - I have to get from Springs 6 tonight to the Autodrome. Is it still not possible to turn left from Al Khail onto Emirates road and taking the detour down and back from GC roundabout ? Is it possible to turn left onto Emirates Rd now from Al Barsha3 on the 611 ? Any suggestions ?
