My DH has just told me he thinks our foster cat has escaped while we are moving house. She is mainly white with tortoiseshell markings and a tabby bit on her black leg, ear clipped. Please let me know if you see her. Answers to Mimi.

Feeling a very similar thing! Find this article yesterday. Don't know if it's any use... http://www.care2.com/greenliving/staying-close-to-your-tween-daughter.html

We have just been this summer and took malaria tablets for both countries. However, our friends from another country were told only to take them in time for going to the temples at Siem Reap. We took malarone. It is ridiculously expensive over here - AED600 per box of 12 and you need two days before you travel and a week after you have left the malaria area. We actually ended up getting ours from an online pharmacy from the UK and getting them delivered to a friend who brought them out for us. It wasn't much more than AED600 for two of us for three weeks supply!

According to The National, the driver was drunk. So sad. I have a bike, but the roads here put me off cycling anywhere :(

I too did the nursery route from 4 months in the UK. DD benefited in so many ways including a stronger immune system. They were great with my requests to use expressed milk too even making her meals milky when she flatly refused a bottle. She also went in when she was not 100%. Even now at 12, her strong immune system means that when she gets ill it doesn't last long. I put that down to picking up everything going when she was a baby!

We just did a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia with The Adventure Company. I don't think 6 would be too young for that. They do a family adventure so there would be other children on the holiday too. Only thing I would say is not to do the optional excursion to The Killing Fields in Cambodia as I think that would be too much. Definitely do that Mekong Delta optional trip though as that was brilliant :)

Dubai College are starting it for Year 9 this year. Just as a trial I think but I am hoping it will stay for when my DD reaches that age as Latin is something she would have learned in the UK and I am keen for her to still learn it.

Can highly recommend Diverse. DD so much improved compared with time at KTW. Standard of performance at the annual show was amazing!

I've been in the ranches for the last two summers and it is very quiet. How old are your children? I am looking at a summer camp for my daughter as most of her friends are away for the summer.

I would add 38smiles to the list of cat rescuers in Dubai. Lovely lady who runs it. They have adoption days at Pet Zone near the Mazaya centre. Next one is 22nd June. Look them up on Facebook :)

On the same lines as exodus and explore, I can highly recommend the adventure company. My daughter and I went to Kenya with them a few years ago and it was fantastic. Loads of activities and lots of children too. They even tell you the ages of the kids that are going when you book.

I don't know if it is the same procedure for everybody, but my DH had to write a letter giving me permission to work and my company did the rest. They didn't sponsor me, just sorted out my work permit as I already had sponsorship through my husband. I think you are a good cheaper option for a company because they don't have to sponsor you or give you any of the other benefits like housing allowance etc as husband's company usually does that. Might give you a better chance of a job!

Can highly recommend Dr Steffan at the Saudi German Hospital. He was brilliant with my daughter when she broke her arm late last year.

My daughter did the exam last year and she wrote a story. She said they had several things to choose from and she chose one with the first line of a story. It's my feeling that the exam has to be tough because they need to be sure that the children can cope with the work at the school if they get in.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can recommend a reputable lady taxi driver / driver that would be able to pick my daughter up from school two days a week when she is unable to get the bus home? Thanks in advance. :)
