Fantastic, thanks a lot to all of you!!! I love to see what everyone cook, it gives me a lot of ideas. Cymraes, would you mind sharing your recipe for prawn cocktail and sauce? Hydepark, can I have the one for the pudding pear tartlets? Kaussie, your steamed white fish seems lovely, can u share the recipe? Bnbh, how do you do the Eton mess? And yes, the foolproof Nasi goreng recipe would be nice. Thanks again so much!!!

Thanks for your replies ladies. I often cook a lamb roast with gratin dauphinois, lasagna, pizza, beef stroganoff or poulet basquaise. For starter, I often cook either a soup or just a salad. For dessert, I prepare tiramisu or some kind of triffles (sp?), or a tart... Thanks a lot.

Hi ladies, Could you please recommend a female doctor (ob/gyn) where i can go for the usual annual women check-up (that would include pap smear, breast exam etc..)? I checked on the search engine, but the threads are a bit old. preferably within the Daman insurance network (EHL- City, meadows clinic, welcare, dubai mall...) american hospital, emirates clinic etc... Alternatively, does anybody know which insurances the wellwomenclinic accept? Thanks a lot for any infos

i have one and so far, i am happy about it. have been using it for DD1 since early 2009, and for DD2 since 2010, and it is still in good condition, even if we used it a lot and it also travelled a lot on planes, cars etc. it is light enough to carry it everywhere with you, it reclines totally flat (that was one of the criteria I was not compromising on) and it is not too expensive. if i remember well, I found it in goodbaby, karama. thanks kelly and simpleasabc! Will def recommend them the fort and the al qatarra oasis. I suppose the main attractions in al ain will keep them busy maybe what, 1 day and a half? so maybe they will stay one night in al ain, and then, where would be a logical (or non logical, but worth seeing) following site to go? Fujeirah? RAK? TIA

It certainly helped a lot, thanks again so much. yes, apparently, they would be in the same class, because this is exactly what the vice told me too about the number of children and about the eventuality that they don't find a teacher by next week. The vice seems very professional, so it is kind of reassuring. So maybe I see you next week with our LO :-)

Hi HAK, Thanks a lot for your answer. From what I saw, I liked both, but I still have some questions about both too, hence my hesitation. Apparently, the child ratio per class is much higher now in raffles, I was told 22 children in the class where my LO would go. Then, there is 2,5 persons per class ( 1 teacher, 1 assistant, and 1 other assistant that navigate between 2 classes)....last but not least, they haven't recruited the teacher yet. So I am a bit worried. Concerning jebel Ali, call me crazy, but I was a bit concerned about the lovely big patio that they use for outdoor time. It is very nice, but I am always scared when standing at the feet of these high towers in jbr. What if someone drops something from a balcony/ window? (I know, I am bit paranoid...)

Ok, yes I know the mothercare in GCW, I also live there. I know it is very small, hence my suggestion of the one in ibn batt. But still, have a look in babyshop. They have a lot of items from medela ( at least the ones for manual/electrics pumps etc), so probably also the shields? Good luck;)

Hi And congratulations for your baby. Have you tried ringing mothercare in ibn battuta mall, or even babyshop in the same mall? I remember that they had a good selection of medela products, and ibn battuta is not as far as Dubai mall. HTH

Thanks twokids. If I don't find a solution in Dubai marina, I will keep her in the other school. I can drive, so it is good as i don't need to rely on a bus, but I just wanted to see all the options, also in Dubai marina. Ideally, if I could stay close to marina, that would be my first choice. Still some brainstorming ahead...:-)

Thanks a lot TK. I am very confused on where to enroll her ideally. She will be 4 in may, and if we were not to move to Dubai marina, she would start kg1 in her former school. Now, with the coming move and the difficulties of finding a place available, I really don't know what to do. Try to find a nursery, knowing that she will have to move again next year? Or trying to find a real school ( waou, that's scary...) where she will be the youngest? A lot of questions...

Hi ladies, We might have to move to Dubai marina very soon, and I am looking for a school for my DD, she is 3,5 years old. Any recommendations about any schools? I also have a 1,5 years old, and I plan to put her to nursery at some point, so if the school takes nursery children, it is even better. Thanks a lot
