Because they are rubbish have flown with them before and they were quite possibly the worse airline i have ever flown with even compared to low cost budget airlines, i hate BA with a vengeance Lol :( It basically boils down to money, if you have an extra bag they will charge you for it and its not cheap either, you can take one of the small sized suitcases as your hand luggage on board but thats all they allow.

I used Crystal i think the name of the company dealt with a guy called Simon 0503855257 were great moved from a 2 bed in downtown to motorcity cost 1400 they packed everything and unpacked and rebuilt everything at the other end there were great, that was last Jan 10 though so prices may be a bit more though. Edited to say get his email address and email him your requirements, by far easier than trying to explain on the phone, he will come back with a quote but knock him down on the price he quotes. edited by egg on 04/04/2011

The best is definitly the Kaercher which I have seen upstairs in the Co-op opposite safa park. I would image out of all the places that sell them, co-op is most likely to be the cheapest. Ace hardware will probably have them too, but a bit more expensive. You can get chinese ones in Dragon mart, but I dont know how long they will last. Lol yep me neither Thanks will have a look at co-op :)

Unless there is some damage why wouldnt you get your deposit back, we did from downtown Dubai same day we handed apartment back over? Obviously if LL cant check it that day you would have to wait but unless it requires repainting/major overhaul then no I thought they had to advise you in writing anyway what deductions they are taking from you, if they dont give it back to you then surely its a case for the rent council (whatever its called lol)?

We didnt agree anything regards the money we just gave it to her becasue she asked and has never before asked for money we wanted to help her, This year i m concerned, i have spoken to other colleagues and they said the additional money is paid to her when she returns i.e she gets a salary in April even though she has been away on holiday just like any normal employer pays your holiday salary the following month from when you took your leave? My big concern in that we give her this additional 1800 AED and she does not return plus surely if she gets the additional 1800 now she does not get another 1800 in April ?

Maid has been with us since 2009, in 2010 she approached us and asked for money for her DS OJT we gave her 2000 AED towards this. I understood that for every 2 years she is in our employment we pay for a flight home for her, in effect this is what I understood For example she has just returned home for month in March 2011 AED 3000 Flight AED 1800 Salary So know she is asking for holiday pay, however, she should get this when she returns in April Salary or else she would have no money in April am I correct? Otherwise, she will get AED 3600 Salary plus the months holiday My company doesn’t pay me the holiday pay in advance and then give me additional money the month I return for a month of work I have not done Please help

I dont agree that you should not allow your maids to venture away from you or your property they are human beings employees not prisoners, how would you feel if your employer said you were not allowed to leave your premises?? They are entitled to their day off for recreation and to spend time with their friends and families just as we are! Having said this i think there should be a way to protect employers from this i have concerns that mine may be working on a Saturday even though we advised her this was not allowed under any circumstances, perhaps we could put a thread on maids page and post names, description of maids see if anyone is hiring this person, i dont know what the answer is but we need to do something to protect ourselves from this which does not involve keeping the maids indoors under watchful eye constantly.

I too have a fab housemaid, she has been with us 2 years it tok me four months to find her and have had no real issues with her at all, she is very honest and if she has a problem she will come and tell me, she is definitely part of our family, she is going home this month for a month and am already starting to panick at the thought of what i will do without her, she organises our entire family and then i look back and think well how did i do it before as i seemed to manage fine then Lol. She is always singing, can sometimes annoy me when its 6am lol, she is great with DS and my house is spotless and completely organised there is a place for eveything which is more than i ever managed when i flew solo Lol Big hooray for the good maids out there :)
