I never pushed DS to have professional lessons, he plays around with it at the moment, once hes a little more used to it and not so full on with after school activities i will get him proper lessons. Youtube has some great videos, but i think if hes serious about learning it and seems to really enjoy it, its worth investing in some lessons i have a number if you want it whom comes reccomended (not me or anyone i know no plugging here, he was reccomended on here i believe) 0556413509. I often think that there is nothing more rewarding than haivng a talent i wish my parents had offered me to learn an instrument :(

Hi Jax 1) maid needs medical before going to immigration, she will need, copy of passport, 2 photo's and its all here what you ned and where you ca go and prices http://www.dha.gov.ae/EN/Pages/default.aspx 2) you need tenancy contract, floor plan of house/apartment and title deeds and register with Ejari 3) maid will need to sign the employee contract so best take her with you just in case 4) sponsor does not have to go so long you get dh to sign the contract you can do it which is usually quicker as you can go to ladies section

Yeah never thought of that actually, i dont know ill see what these churchill guys say when they get here. But dh reckons its just a steamer anyway and so if we just got one it would do same job ? Maybe spray the fabric side with some fabric cleaner first then steam them?

Im going to cry they are too big and heavy to be handwashed i'd do myself an injury even attempting to wash them by hand. Looks like the only alternative is to buy new ones but a cheaper version and throw them :(

For me i know its just pure laziness im about 86kg and only 5ft2 so dont carry it too well, its the excuses i know i make, im working all day come home cant be bothered making anything so eat rubbish dont go to the gym eat canteen food at work as i dont have time to make anything in the morning. All excuses i make and i know i do make them. I just need to get my backside off the lazy chair and actually do something about it, i havent always been big, my own fault stuffed my face when pregnant and struggled to shift it afterwards, managed to lose quite a bit then moved here and stuffed my face again with work dinners drinks brunches. Silly egg will start a healthy lifestyle regime. It is a choice and does take hardwork but you have to have the willpower to stick to it. Wow i feel better for admitting that :-) Egg x

To Egg, I went to Enrique concert last week, yes I agree, it was a complete chaos, a veeeeeery looooooooong queue just to enter the place, but perhaps its all because it was indoor concert. To be honest I don't feel secure inside since it's very dark, exit sign....not very clear. I also went to Atelier music festival in Meydan, no trouble at all, in or out (well apart from those drunken people). I believe the stage set up is similar to Atelier so there will be some chair for you to sit down. Totally agree it had a very seedy feel to the whole place and some cocky girls tried to give me a gob full they got what for right back Lol. As for the standing i agree i prefer it as you can dance if its that type of act you are seeing, my main point was standing for a little one but OP is best to judge whether or not she will be able to stand for long periods of time whilst in the midst of a crowd. Personally my 10 yr old wouldnt and would want to sit down whilst nothing that interested him was happening. I was tempted to go to this concert myself until i saw the price its about 75 GBP wowsers thats expensive unless thats the current UK going rate for a gig :(

FYI i was at Enrique last week it was complete chaos, there were children under 10 there who were getting pushed around as it was standing in silver, lots of under 21 kids (15 / 16) drinking their own stash of beer they brought in. Personally standing for that amount of time with a young one would be a no no for me, plus probably not likely to see anything unless you get there early and queue to get near the front. Just my opinion the thought would fill me with dread i know my 10 year old would be bored and tired of standing after an hour.

Hi JST Most schools offer a school transport i.e. bus service from home to school and vice versa, they usually serve most areas as there will be several children on a route pick up and drop off each day. My DS has used the school bus since we moved here and we have had no issues, but he goes to a different school. Check the school website it should have a section for student services and under there the bus information should be there. I would love to take and pick DS up but working full time does not allow me to and the bus is the only option, like i said we have had no issues and its the same bus driver and bus monitor everyday for him. Good luck and welcome, glad the little ones are settling, best to get them straight into it rather than give them time to think about it all Lol. X

Well i used to go to T & T at ranches but gor fed up with the below par service. Moved over to Nail SPa at Golf Club and what a difference my nails have grown lovely and i had my brows done by a lovely lady (she does it in the room not in the chairs) cant remember her name but my brows have never looked so lovely, she also did a bikinin wax and it really didnt hurt and again fabulous job. I think shes the regular waxer / hair remover who works in the room, lovely experience there. Good luck.

It was by far the best roast spread i have ever eaten i came out of there completely unable to move for a few hours anfter i indulged in all the meats and trimmings, they had giant roast potatoes mash huuuuuuuge yorky puds the whole lot and about 12 different types of meat. I am definitely going there for christmas this year :) Right off to get ingredients for roast dinner :P

Yeah when we were looking we did seperate flights used Cibu Pacific for internal flights just be careful about luggage weight as our maid ended up with excess baggae (flew emirates 30kg allowance) but its not as much on Cebu so might be worth checking.

We are off to SL in a few weeks, we have been before and stayed in Hikkaduwa the drive was a nightmare :( Have to say though DH and i loved it it rained every day we were there but not for long and mainly at night (November) not been in August but taking the Little ones this time, i checked the weather here: http://www.worldweatheronline.com/Sri-Lanka-weather.aspx Mozzies there are lots there but we used a good repellant Dr Bens or something like that and didnt get any bites, grab some spray from local shop to spray your room just in case they get in and just keep the doors closed as much as possible. edited by egg on 10/08/2012

Thanks all! No hes not a Falcon, i am not that brave hes an adopted Grey adult bit feisty i need to get into his cage and clear it out etc hes still wary and has an enormous beak so dont fancy annoying him too much just yet but need to get in there to clean properly a quick flick over wont do so need a glove to be able to do so. Ill have a look at heavy duty gardening ones see if they'll do the trick. Failing that i will just go for it and hope for the best he is not showing any signs of biting just screaming if you get too close inside his cage, hes ok when you dont open his door Lol.
