You can buy Indian Psyllium Husk powder in any Choitrams for AED 5, it's called Isabgol and you'll need to ask for it at the cash register. I think you'll get the same powder as the (much) more expensive products at the pharmacies, as I was just on holiday and ran out of the husk I took with me and bought Solgar brand Psyllium husk for EUR 20 a jar (about AED 100) and its exactly the same stuff! you can get solgar here as well in Life pharmacies.
Isabgol was recommended to me by naturopathic doctor here, as she said it is the same psyllium husk powder as the more expensive pharmacy brands. HTH
