Nope, must be freezer paper bc it then gets ironed on to a shirt: http://makezine.com/projects/freezer-paper-stencil/ Here's what it looks like sold in a roll: http://www.amazon.com/Reynolds-Freezer-Paper-Plastic-Coated/dp/B00EME5KZ0 Could fashion freezer paper out of a garbage bag + printer paper but I'm not that crafty and can't be bothered. edited by EllsBells on 05/06/2014

Thanks ladies. I was in Lakeland MCC a few days ago and didn't see it unfortunately. Asked the shop assistants and they had no idea what I was talking about. Scoured the cling film/alum foil section just in case too. Will be sure to bring some back when we are home in the States. We use it for art projects - making stencils onto T-shirts.

I tend to buy tilapia, red snapper, and sherri. Every once in a while, I buy a new fish I'm not familiar and then make notes of taste, size of fish bones (my family don't like small bony fish), etc so I know for next time. This is a good website to find out which fish are sustainable locally: http://www.choosewisely.ae/ There is also a downloadable PDF with color photos of local fish with their common and local names: "http://www.choosewisely.ae/uae_consumer_guide.pdf" (the PDF link isn't displaying properly so you will have to cut and paste into your browser) edited by EllsBells on 31/05/2014

Yeah, the process is certainly no fun. The NY part was easy because I just walked around to the different departments in Manhattan and then mailed the MC to the US State Department via USPS (with tracking) and when that came back to me I then mailed it off to the UAE Embassy. I was still in the States when I went through this process so had plenty of time to go through the steps. But if you are here, probably best to pay a company like the one AnonDubai mentioned to have it done for you. Less headache.

It is quite a process to do by yourself, especially if you don't have someone to help you in the states. The marriage certificate (MC) has to be attested by the US Department of State and UAE Embassy in DC but only after it has been attested by the state department where you were married (in your case, Washington) but they won't attest it until the county and/or city where you were married attest it. For example, I was married in New York City so I had to have my MC attested by the city of NY, then the County of New York, then the State Dept of NY, then the US State Dept in DC and then the UAE Embassy in DC. The order of attestation was detailed on my State's government website so chck yours as well. Good luck!

I used to take my son to Baby Splash at the Hayya in Meadows town center. Think it's now a fitness first. edited by EllsBells on 05/05/2014
