Are Expatwoman planning any event meetups on the Other side of town (the areas near the airport). I remember a long while ago I saw some meetups at Festival city. What happened to these? I really want to attend a mums group but need to get back to Mirdif by 12 to pick my daughter up from school. Just wondering there may be many other mums in the same position who want to attend but it's either too far or they haven't got enough time to pick up a second child. Really hoping I'm not the only one and that there may be a demand for it, if so would EW try to accommodate? Are you on Facebook ? Look up mirdif mums they meet every Monday morning at crèche out in mcc and on a weds pm (not sure of venue) Hope this helps <em>edited by em123 on 14/09/2013</em>

Hi, we are heading back to the u.k for Christmas this year. We are not sure if staying with family is an option, but instead of a hotel we wondered if anyone had heard of doing a house swap instead ? Thinking that Christmas could be a good time for people to want to come to Dubai !? If anyone has done this before or has any info then it would be great to hear - thanks

..Didn't want this post to end...so here's my contribution- First trip to Dubai Hairdresser, she was dying my hair. I thought I would make conversation (you know like you do at home!)..... Me: 'How long have you been working here?' Hairdresser: 'Yes, we keep the dye on the grey bits for longer'..... End of conversation.....!!!!

I am hoping to go to the beach this morning but confused as to which beach is ladies day today? Used to be Jumeirah? Sure they have changed it but need to make sure as my Dad is with us. Thanks

Is there still a mums and toddlers coffee morning in Mirdif? A while ago I saw there was one starting up but couldn't find it under the Events tab. (I hope there is)! Hi, there did used to be, but quite sure it doesn't happen anymore :-(. I have been going to Mirdif mums instead, they meet at Etihad Mall Kiddeville Mondays 8.30-10.30am and Wednesdays 3-5pm. Very friendly, brilliant soft play for kids too ! There are details on their facebook page under 'Mirdif Mums', alternatively I think there is a website.
