Good morning! I am looking for a play park, for loss of a better word, for my children. Ideally with a couple of swings and a slide. I've seen some made of wood. Does anybody know where could I find them? Have tried dragon mart but only have plastic ones. Thanks in advance

Completely agree on the challenges of starting at. 7.30am, it was the main reason we were having second thoughts about JPS, however we struggled to find any school that started much later than that! Most of the schools I checked were all around the same time, would be great to hear of any school which starts any later than 8? I only came across DBS - 8 am - however their assessments don't start until January and I know Wellington international starts at 8.30 for FS1 and FS2 although it seems like the chances of getting in are slim. Thanks!

Hi Mummycurve1, I was also worried about JPS' start time. We have also been offered a place for FS1 starting in September 2015. After much thinking we decided to accept the place. JPS is a great school and we feel lucky we got a place. We also realised that most schools start around the same time so putting him in nursery for FS1 would just delay 1 year the inevitable! Just bumping up cause I'm also interested to hear from current FS1 mums and what's their routine like! Also how's the school drop off? I hear horror stories about traffic around the schools at drop off and pick up times!

I can't believe this is still happening in Dubai! We had this same problem more than 2 years ago. Hopefully our experience can now help you. Our agents, run away with our rent cheques without paying the landlord. However we had all paperwork, including a letter from the landlord authorising the agency to rent on their behalf. Our landlord wanted us to re-pay the rent or to leave the apartment. We refused. My strong suggestion is do not move do not pay. Unfortunately both parties are victims here but the landlord appointed the agency. We went to the rent committee who advised us that we hadn't done anything wrong and to wait for the landlord to go to the rent committee and log a case for eviction. The landlord took us to the rent committee to try to get us to pay the remaining rent as well as evict us. They lost and we stayed in the apartment for the remaining of the lease without paying any extra. It was about 3 months into our contract. When the leases expired the landlord was made to renew our contract and then after we completed the second year in the apartment they served us notice to evict (12 months later). Not sure if things have changed but when this happened to us the law was on our side. The rent committee told us that, technically, the agency had not done anything to us, we still had the goods we had paid for if you see what I mean, we had paid rent and we still had the apartment, regardless of the landlord threats, hence the party that needed to go to the police, sue whatever was the landlord and not us. My strong recommendation is to stay put, is the landlord who needs to try to get you out and is nothing to do with the police, is the rent committee they need to go to. Just check you have all paperwork necessary to confirm that the landlord and the estate agent had an agreement by which the estate agent could rent the property on their behalf. Don't let the landlord bully you! Best of luck! edited by EMAD75 on 25/10/2014

Hi bubble! I have been using Health Bay baby care assistants service for 9 months now, their nanny services. I am extremely happy with their service and the care provided for my little one! I've had the same nanny coming since the beginning as I wanted a long term care solution. Can highly recommend them!

I'm no expert by any means! As new as you, just waiting on baby at the moment, 38 weeks and counting :-) I bought cotton ones, they also have organic cotton, which I bought for the pram, they are all very soft.

Hi there, had the same issue, I couldn't find sheets that fitted my Boori cot anywhere in Dubai so finished buying them online from John Lewis in the UK and shipping them through ship and shop. The shipping costs were about AED 180 - I bought 10 so the package was about 2.5 kgs. I also did mattress protector as you'll have the same issue! I opened the ship and shop account online and so far it has all been hassle free! Hope this helps!

As eleromero says you don't need to cover it while you're cooking. Once you finish the paella, you cancover it with a clean tea towel to let it rest until you serve! Enjoy!

I requested my final bill online, you can put in a date for disconnection I put the next day to us leaving the flat as I was getting the cleaning crew in after moving out. Just go to the dewa site and once you log in there's a button for requesting final bill. They text you when it's ready and then you go to any dewa office and do the payment etc. Niggly, if you want to close the account and just want your deposit back you can balance it against whatever is outsanding on your final bill and they will then pay you whatever the balance is, is all done then and there. I must confess I went to DEWA office behind Mazaya centre about 6 weeks ago so not sure if it's closed since then but it was certainly open in December and no signs of closing.

Hi Pingu, yes you can transfer DEWA deposits from one account to the other, we did it recently. Just go to the DEWA office (I went to the one behind Mazaya centre, but don't know the closest to Mirdiff) with all paperwork for your current villa (to request for final bill I assume) and for your new property (to set up new account - tenancy contract, landlords documentation, etc). Tell the person at the counter that you want to close one account (request final bill) and set up the new one. Just make sure to do it at the same time. I had my original receipt for the deposit so not sure whether without it will work, but don't recall DEWA checking it too much. I found them to be very helpful, they even credited excess housing fee charged in my old apartment onto my new account! Good luck!

I know Emirates used to do it for lay overs of over 8 hours, at least in Business Class, certainly worth checking with them.
