My DD started in the third term last year and we got quite conflicting advice from schools. Two schools said that she would not need a transfer certificate. The third school I approached said they would not accept her without a transfer certificate. We had just arrived from Australia where she had completed a total of 5 weeks of schooling so naturally I did not have a certificate! They were completely unsympathetic and said I would need to wait until September or I could contact the Ministry of Education to get a waiver. They wouldn't budge on that even when I mentioned that the other schools would accept her. She was going into FS2 at the time. We didn't have a choice and had to enrol her into one of the other schools which turned out to be a good move anyway!

Depends on the age of your children. We bought a Kinect just after Christmas and returned it after a week and bought a new Wii (old one broken due to DS posting dirhams in it!). The Kinect was just too frustrating as it picked up light reflecting off the floor and if anyone walked behind the player using it, it just couldn't cope. We found there were hardly any games available and all were quite difficult for our 5 year old to use. It was too frustrating to watch!
