My 9 mo had this, though his were more greenish. I telephoned his dr who told me to give him gentimyacin drops, the pharmacist can give them to you without a prescription. yep, my 5mo also has this at the moment and has been prescribed the same although trying to get them in her eye is the fun part!!

Thanks all for your messages and support. I was wary to having the op for her out here but nobody has said anyhting bad about al wasl and the dr was very reassuring when we went to see him. Luckily she doesn't have the full cleft with lip so hopefully she will only need the 2 ops. Im just dreading the op. I hate having to take her for her injections and this is going to be soooo much worse :-(

Hi all Does anyone have any information on cleft palates? My dd was born last August and with a full soft cleft palate and a third into her hard palate. She is having her first op in March to correct her soft palate and then she will need to have another op between 18 months and 3 years to correct her hard palate. She is having the op at Al Wasl. I have only recently got my head around it and have been able to talk about it as i got very upset when talking about it when she was first born. She is thriving and the only thing different we have to do is sit her up slightly when we feed her. I am beginning to get very nervous/emotional about the op and cant even get my head around when they will take her and put her to sleep to do the op. Does anyone know of anyone who has had this op over here beofre and any experiences to share? tia

I had just eaten a spicy curry and was just getting into the car and i felt a trickle!! I looked at DH who was oblivious and said 'i think my waters might have broken' to which he replied 'dont be stupid' (this was 17 days before due date). So i got in the car and then there was another gush. I said 'they have definately gone, lets go to the hospital'. He then said 'are you sure?'. I said 'well its either that or i am wetting myself and i have no control over it!!' 10 mins later i was walking into the hospital John Wayne style!! DH left me in hospital whilst he went for my bag and to disinfect the car seat!! Luckily they were leather seats! :-)

My DD is also a monkey for not bringing up wind at night! We try for approx 10 mins after feed and if nothing we put her down. In this 10 minutes if she hasnt brought any up in 5 minutes we lie her down and keep an eye on her. As soon as she oppens her eyes we lift her up and she literally burps straight away. It sometimes helps to move them around a bit and change their positions a lot when winding them. Good Luck.
