You can say no as he is not entitled, but just be prepared to receive 12 months notice. What do you mean by this? Are you saying he can change it to a non renewable contract? Even if it it less than 2 months until we renew? He can give you 12 months notice at the end of your current contract without needing to give you 3 months notice.

I think the nearest metro will be G&D Park. Not sure it is the kind of area you can really live without a car.

Depends what your expectations are. If you are looking for a nurturing, community type environment then I wouldn't consider R. The early years as Molly says have done well, but in our experience this is Nursery and Reception only. Your choices are likely to be limited by availabilty, the good ones like DESS, SAFA, Kings, JAPS, JPS I think you may struggle to get. But you should get a space at R, last I heard there are no wait lists except for EY's.

I think you will get variable answers, even from the RC. We have just been through similar, but we printed out the laws and took them to RC when we were then told yes he does have to get a notarised document. So ll eventually got around to issuing us with that. If he wanted you out this year he should have given you a non renewable contract..

No expert but I thought it needed watering for minutes rather than being turned on and left for long periods. I guess there are all sorts of factors to consider, but I would put on and see how long it takes for water to soak through and leave it at that. But then once a week give a really good drink for a few minutes more than the usual time. Agree with FD about not watering during the day.

Bless, hope she is feeling better today. My dd wanted the blue sprite last week, anyway I caved and got her one. She took one mouthful and the rest went down the sink! I tried a little bit it wasn't nice, very very sweet and sickly. If your dd drank all of it I am not surprised she is unwell to be honest. Anyway, hope she is feeling better horrible when they are unwell like that. X

If you like them who cares what other people think? If your feet need the support, get them, those flip flops really don't give proper support. FIT flops have amazing support. Hi Irooni, I live in flip flops, but had started to get some heel pain. So I tried the birkenstocks as they have that bit more heel, and was surprised how comfy they are... but I do still wear flip flops too but if walking alot wea the Birkenstocks... Shamefully or not I don't really mind what I look like so long as I am comfortable... edited by emlsnre on 08/08/2013

You have tried with the etiquette,I would simply throw them back over the wall not up to you to collect their clippings and bag them.Their trees/shrubs their mess....possibly take a photo of the evidence before popping the clippings back over the wall. Our neighbours would hack anything down that would peek over the wall from our side, but in the spirit of 'garden etiquette' ( love your saying ) if it peeked over onto their side they had every right to hack it down. Neighbour on the other side had Damas giants that ultimately blocked pipes and damaged our wall...... Theirs are damas too... I just wanted a sanity check, it should be us who are a bit unhappy not her..

Well the first time they trimmed the trees our garden was covered with quite large cuttings. We left it a day or so expecting somebody to come. They didn't so dh popped around and just asked if we should be expecting somebody. They said yes but it would be a few days. The problem is that after a day the leaves are all dried so when you pick up they all kind of drop off and become like dust. Anyway the next time, again nobody came, so dh and I bagged about 6 big liners up and put them in their front garden. They have been done again this week and left again. So I did pop around just to ask if somebody would be coming the following day, and if so I would leave the side gate unlocked as I was going out. Well I hardly got a word in, she was very dismissive saying I didn't need to do anything... I tried again to explain that it would be really helpful if I knew they were coming as we have dogs, and if the leaves are left they ea them and the bring them back up. I had raked as much up and bagged them but they were too heavy to loft over as dh wasnt there to help. She threw her arms about and stomped off ranting in her mother tonge which I don't understand and shut the door... So I am a bit of a miss as to what I have done wrong... I had thought we had been really patient and tried to help... :-(

So in the UK, if I trimmed trees or any shrub that then landed on my neighbours land, I would always knock and ask them if I could come across and clear it for them. I believe they would also have been in their right to tip it back over our side. Does anyone know how it works here?

LL's can only increase if the rent calculator states they are entitled to it. So get her to check on that and then just politely advise the LL that in accordance with UAE law he is not entitled to an increase, if that is the case. No idea what a standard 7 or 10% increase is about I'm afraid... http://www.dubailand.gov.ae/english/eservices/rentalincreasecalculatoren.aspx

Mine was abdominal surgery too, the top wound was ok, but just one of the internal stitches was stubborn..... My surgery was 8 years ago, the scar has healed nicely but it does feel sore very now and then, but not red at all. Just a sensitive scar. As others have said get it checked just to be sure...

We used DASA and they were superb. Easy to deal with good price. The packing team were excellent, the container arrived in line with their estimated dates we were kept well informed and the unpacker s in the UK were also superb I would highly recommend them. Friends of ours used lied pick fords and experienced delays, damage and underestimation of the size of container they ended. They ended up having to get a bigger shipment and the extra was sent separately which meant they ended up with beds arriving with no mattresses because the mattresses were on the different shipment. It was very stressful for them - so we avoided them! We chose DASA because they were the company who unpacked our shipment hen we arrived in Dubai - and they were great. Hope that helps you . Claire, off topic so apologies..... have you seen any royal bunting or decs in readiness for the new arrival? DH due back this week and hoping to send him in search of some...

I just had four Arabic name necklaces made from Cara in the g&d park in silver. The names were varying lengths and they cost 120 aed each. Are the prices the same for bracelets? Do they make it in gold as well? Any idea how much a gold bracelet with arabic letters would cost? edited by kewlzany on 22/07/2013 Those prices are for bracelets. They do them in gold, I am sure he said about 500.

My symptoms and trace indicated angina. I did have another test and the senior cardiologist checked my results and advised they had made an error. I like you was worried, my dad had a heart attack st 49 and was fortunate to survive. His brothers all have irregular heart beats, so yes hereditary. If you are concerned or just want reassurance get yourself back and request they do a trace or a 24hr observation, if for nothing more than to put your mind at rest.

It's good you have seen a dr already. Did they run a heart trace? I was in my mid 20's when I started experiencing similar feelings. I had a heart trace and they diagnosed an arythmia, they advised it was common in people my age and unless they increased significantly didn't require any treatment. Thankfully I have managed them quite well and to date some 20 years on have been ok. If you haven't had a trace or things have changed then I would definitely seek another opinion.
