Where would you be coming from? If you are looking for very proper BHS stylie riding then probably DP, but if you are looking for a more hands on, type place then AS... Not ridden at DP but it does look very nice, I prefer AS as it allows you to be more hands on and the setting is very natural. However, I don't think that the instructors are BHS qualified, I stand corrected if wrong, but they have many years experience between them.

You could also check out http://www.jaresortshotels.com/Properties/AlSahraDesertResort/EquestrianCenter/Overview.aspx. They are just off Al Ain opposite the 7's stadium. Depends on what you are looking for as to which will be most suitable.

6 is still very young, and any assessment you have now is highly likely to yield different results in 2 years time. Some kids develop skills early on, some when expected and others just take a little longer. However, I totally appreciate your concerns. Have you looked at Toe By Toe, it has been recommended on here before and having used it can say it has made a massive difference to our dd. You can order it online, ours came from book depository and deliver here foc.

Turkish beetroot dip. Sounds odd but it is truly amazing! Bake some whole, washed beets in oven on highest temp for 45 mins to an hour depending on their sizes. Let cool. Peel, then process with garlic, tahini, salt, a dash of vinegar. After its blitzed, add yoghurt. It turns a lovely magenta colour. Its so yummy and very healthy. Great for kids as they love the colour :-) Sounds lovely, definitely trying.. Thanx for sharing

I was going to post the same, but just to note that I always get visitors to get a valid prescription and covering letter from GP to carty with them, and only bring enough meds for the duration of stay. My mother comes with Class A controlled drugs with prescription and letter and hasn't had a problem yet. This is also a good site http://www.fairtrials.net/press/press-releases/list-of-controlled-pharmaceutical-substances-in-uae/ ETA. Even if not on list always a good idea to carry prescription. edited by emlsnre on 19/04/2013

Dr OMalley told us that our dd will definitely need some orthodontics in the future, but that he wouldn't do anything until all her milk teeth were out. But he did advise that if I went for a second opinion that there would be plenty out there who would be too happy to start now. I am always so surprised when I hear that dentists have done root canal, filled cavities and even fitted braces on such young children. edited by emlsnre on 12/04/2013

We were concerned at one point that we were about to expire and LL was still insisting on 25% increase,so we checked with RC and they told us that as long as we had given our notice of intent to renew that it would automatically roll on. I would always insist on having a contract though before parting with monies.....

You are at The Villa too right? There seems to be a huge amount of people here going through this... Surely it was inevitable? LLs always seem to think that villas are like gold dust, so although it was cheap to get into The Villa at first because of its location and poor facilities, it was obvious that LLs would be looking to push rents up as high and fast as possible when they got a sniff of the tide having turned. That's one of the reasons we wouldn't touch a villa with a barge pole, especially not a villa owned by a private individual. Life's too short to go through all that RERA hassle every year, and you know that eventually they'll hit you with a non-renewable contract to force you out anyway. We've done OK, and by next year will have been here for 4 years so it has been worth it for us.

I know of at least six others here all being told that they have to go as LL needs to sell. Like you we are still within the average range so LL not entitled to any increase. 2 years ago he tried a 25% increase but we stuck to our guns and he finally gave in. He has been saying he has to sell, then wanted to know how much we could pay come renewal and now an email with notice. We will give him the sixty days notice of intent to renew, and ignore anything else unless it is done correctly.

Thanks, we will notify him with 60 days notice of our intent to renew. I am not going to point out the law to him that is his responsibility to find out as LL. Just wanted to make sure we were right in our thinking. @Xmas baby. You are at The Villa too right? There seems to be a huge amount of people here going through this...

Great this is what we thought, our contract doesn't expire until June which is when we were expecting to receive 12 months notice. But I suspect he thinks that he has given us notice now so will either not be expecting to renew in June or for us to move out 12 months from now...

I did check on the rera site and what they display is still 12 months notice but it isn't clear when this runs from. It also still states it has to be notarised... Just wanted to make sure there weren't any new laws that supercede these... We definitely have a renewable so no problem there. LL has been OK but the last 6 months has started the I need to sell, and we have been very accomodating with viewings, then 2 weeks ago he texted to say there would be an increase on renewal in line with RERA, and now this..... Guessing he isn't looking to sell but just wants more rent and he can't enforce that while we are here as he is not entitled.. edited by emlsnre on 25/03/2013

Some lovely suggestions, I would think comfort, people can become very fragile and sensitive, a lovely soft pillow/cushion, and chemo does leave an awful taste. A friend of ours who we sadly lost was really appreciative of a supply of flavoured lollies like the chuppa ones helped with the nasty taste...

For most common sense woukd prevail and you would let it be or make sure that it was reported to DM if you felt in danger. Sadly there will be people who will always have an excuse for what happened, it wasn't done out of fear lets face it, the enjoyed it and it was nothing more than pure evil. I hope karma bites back soon... So shameful.

Check your policy and see if it covers psychiatry. I am trying to check it out, but can't seem to find the specifics on mental health anywhere. DH is on a plane headed back to Dubai so he may be able to get a more comprehensive document from his company regarding the coverage. I just know that sometimes Psychiatry may be covered, but not Psychologists...and I'm really interested in the CBT as opposed to antidepressents from a Psychiatrist. However, if I'm mistaken and there are good Psychiatrists around who practice CBT I would welcome any recommendations! I just want to get my daughter the best help possible, preferably without medications until it is deemed absolutely necessary. Thanks! If the paperwork to insurance company can include wording such as clinical neuropsychology it goes along way.....

some great responses here.. Good to keep in mind, that if you pay more doesnt really mean you get better teaching, some places charge 300 AED per hour, which is ridiculous IMHO. Also, what works for one child may not work for another, all children and piano teachers are not equal. The teacher can have totally different results with two different children. A balance between learning to read, and play by ear is needed, but this irons itself out when you take music exams, as they test you on sight reading and ear tests etc. I think if you are going the exam route then this is when the importance of being able to read kicks in. When the examiner asks you to play part way through it could be difficult to pick up from memory if not starting at the start... If you get my drift. In our case it is a natural thing to read and play, she may not always need to look at the sheets but for us it is good habits to keep check of where you are.

Are these prices per hour per lesson? It depends, younger children generally start off with 30mins which starts from around 100, upto an hour which roughly would start from 200. Be careful, although you should expect better quality teaching the more you pay, this isn't always the case. I see children who play without lifting their heads from the keys, my dd can't play unless she has the music sheet in front of her. There are unfortunately a few cheats out there, so beware....

I would say not. Most inspections are very well prepped for so are somewhat staged to a degree, yes there is feedback from parents but if you take for example the % of R's parents who contributed last year I think it was about 22% so read into that what you like.

I never suffered, but one night woke in such agony I thought I was having a heart attack... Then the green vomit started... My poor dh was terrified.... Rang an ambulance and got whizzed in. No stones but gb badly diseased, so spent 3 days waiting for it to reduce then they whipped it out with keyhole. My stomach can be quite sensitive in terms of all of a sudden if I need to go I REALLY need to go... if you know what I mean. But I have a strong family history of crohns, and all started with gb removal... If you have them get rid, the pain from the gb is excrutiating... You will appreciate this bit Amy.... The PAF is great as no oil needed much kinder if you are minus the GB!!! Lol.. edited by emlsnre on 13/03/2013
