Magrudy's on Jumeira Beach road have it (upstairs on the wall adjacent to the wool), Park 'n Shop on Al wasl usually have it and so do some of the bigger Spinney's. Think I may also have seen it in Choithrams. It is usually kept beside the washing powder.

Roysie, you may want to check if the fabric has been pre-shrunk. If it hasn't or the seller can't tell you , I would suggest giving it a wash before it gets made up. I learned from experience! Bought some gorgeous cotton at Global Village and had it made into frocks. The came up lovely, wore them once, put them into the wash and they're really nippit (snug) now- and I am reducing, not expanding! :(

Thanks for the info ladies. Buy Me A Pony, going to Saudi to work so HAVE to wear one apparently. Would not wear one otherwise as I am usually fully covered without a head cover ,just by virtue of how I dress, but it seems them's the rules.

We were there two and a half years ago at Christmas time and had a fine time. The hotel was interesting, can't remember it's name but we wouldn't stay there again! Lovely beaches which were quite busy due to the holiday, lots of little shops on the main road. You have to watch walking as the driving is a bit erratic. We were diving which wasn't the best we have done but was fun anyway. . You can surf and get lessons. Lots of wee eating places on the beach. Easy to walk about, there is a big Buddhist temple nearby. The cinnamon harvest festival was on (December) and we saw elephants in the street procession too. Depending on what your teenagers like to do there is plenty (beach and rummaging about) or nothing! It was a LONG, uncomfortable journey by minibus down from Colombo. Still very obvious evidence of the tsunami so don't imagine it will have changed that much in 2 and a half years. Maybe someone who has been more recently can update.

Fairly sure I have seen used money in the 'antique' shop in souk Madinat - the one with lots of stuff outside it. Think it's opposite Marina.

Can anyone tell me what the beautiful trees are in Motor City. They are tall and slender with white fragrant flowers. Flowering again just now and last flowered in November through to January. Seed pods are long and thin and brown. Leaves are kind of like jasmine in shape and arrangement. The common and botanical name would be great. And a recommendations for books to identify trees, shrubs and flowers would be really helpful (stockist too) Ta much

Thanks SM- see this is where the problems arise. I can understand that for some abayas make life easier , but my clothes are super decent and modest (shapeless and cover me) and I can work in them. I have no problem covering my hair. It's the need for accurate info that I'm after hence my request. Any guidance as to what to expect at hotels etc respectfully requested

It depends very much on what you are wanting the event company to do and how much you want to spend! You could try top2 - e mail nick at topspin dot biz or office number 024012574 and ask for Laetitia and no, I don't work for them!

We are in Fox Hill and like it very much. The balcony is massive and the apartment spacious. We face in towards a green area with trees and find it quiet and restful. I can't recommend an agent, sorry, nor can I help with chiller costs as we haven't been running air con as yet. The gyms are compact and quiet and there seems to be things happen in the studio part. The pools are lovely and openings are staggered to cater for early and late swimmers. I can honestly say that the noise from the track isn't an issue where we are, even during the endurance race. You might not know that Motor City has a page on FB and also has a forum which are easy to find. These pages have advice on chiller costs and the like and also what's happening in the area. Hope this info helps

Red wine, miniature mandarin orange trees, fresh blossom. The flowers and fruit names in Chinese are homonyms - they sound like words for good fortune or health or something like that.
